pondering how i'm gonna add tails to my movie rewrite because the way he was introduced canonically was one of the weirdest parts of movie 2 and i want to throw the whole thing out. "where did tails come from?" "how did tails know about sonic?" "why did tails seek him, specifically, out of the gajillion people in the universe, out?" the answer to that last question is clearly because that's how it is in the games but that's not a real reason. that's just fan service. in order to fit tails into a world that parallels our own some huge changes have to be made and it's tough finding the right balance between adaptation and transformation
