Something that bothers me about the writing of CK is how it reframes the first movie as a rivalry.

A rivalry needs both sides to be antagonistic towards each other. There's no such thing as a one sided rivalry.

They might have something resembling a rivalry in the show, but even then only really in the first three seasons. And that's because they're on far more even ground.

In the movie that was just Johnny being antagonistic towards Daniel and Daniel trying to stand up for himself and Ali.

I mean, come on.
