Thinks of his own scabbed knees, the pale spider webbed scaring that Daniel thumbs sometimes, when Max sits across from him on their ugly lawn chairs. It scars, but heals. Neither of them will come back to this world fully. Max doesn't mind it, and thinks that Daniel will not either — not after this weekend.

No one noticed the rings. They got more important things to focus on, like Lewis in red. Like Daniel in Melbourne. Everyone wants to talk to Daniel, in Melbourne. They don't even look at Max, who isn't even wearing jeans today.

The rookie in the VCARB seat doesn't get the same attention. The crowd wasn't expecting Daniel. No one stands a chance in Albert Park. Oy oy oy. Max is deafened by the cheers, louder than Rocky. Just for Daniel. Of course, for Daniel.

Max cups his hands around his mouth as Daniel shouts at him too. Daniel noises Max hears shouted at birds most mornings. He makes a heart shape with his hands just like his lips, pinky finger trying its best for Max. Daniel is so silly. Max is so in love.

Daniel says hi to everyone back. Max doesn't even glance at the RedBull line up. He glares a bit at the pitwall. Lets Martjin turn him away with a laugh. Max misses GP in his ear a little bit, but he hugs the man fiercely enough to lessen the longing. At least no one is getting GP in their radio either anymore, he is Max's only now, just like Daniel. Max doesn't share well still.

GP knows of course, has known since Singapore and Max awkwardly standing at the breakfast buffet, hickey just under his collar like a beacon, and Max wonders how Daniel misses it with the way they roughhouse each other. GP doesn't even let Daniel win. Neither care for the cameras. Max is so in love.

Max might make him his best man. Pretends it wasn't decided years ago. Will accept the fake surprise on GP's face when he asks, later.

So I think what irks me about wwcr is that while I think it's necessary to promote and give space to women into motorsports, I'm not really sure this is the way to go about it?

Because the problem is not that these women aren't as talented, or as good as their male counterparts, but that they get sistematically sidelined from the lower categories on. Because everybody in a position of power in the teams will chose a boy above a girl even if they have the same abilities (and maybe even if the boy is a little worse). So what are we exactly achieving with this series?

Is it to build a women championship at the same level of ssp300? Then why make it a spec series. What is it purpose besides creating a separate category in a sport where gender has nothing to do with the actual performance of a rider (as Ana Carrasco and Maria Herrera have proven, and other women before them).

Wouldn't it be more useful to build something at a lower level, like they're doing with f1 academy? (and yes, I still believe they give the girls a much too slow machine) something that would be part of road to motogp, like the Asian Cup or the redbull rookies Cup, that would guarantee a passage of the riders to an higher category, giving young girl riders an actual chance?

i hate how fast motorsport is becoming like you young guy only have a season max to prove yourself if you don't perform as expected you're never getting another opportunity and you've bene doing this your whole life and sacrificed so much for it just to be discarded after such a small period of time while years ago people were able to be in the sport for 5+ years (and something still are) while being very bad and in motogp I feel like it's mostly ktm and redbull rookies cup fault I hate it

The hardest part of the job

 As a rookie driver and someone in my mid 20′s I had the thought and idea that I was invincible, I thought nothing would get to me and it was okay to run on no sleep and all caffeine all while eating the sodium packed truck stop food. At 355 lbs I would soon get a reality check when I went into my DOT physical, I had just come off a 2-day run on no sleep and drinking nothing but 20 oz redbulls the whole weekend to keep me going, my blood pressure through the roof and my piss so cloudy you could hardly see through the cup. This would be the downfall and the forever stress that now has me changed and now has me thinking more of my health and ways to lose weight it's been 2 years now and I am just now starting to really take losing weight more seriously and do everything i can do get out of the truck and walk or do some sort of exercise for at least 90 minutes during the day. But that's the toughest part finding healthy food to eat that isn't packed with sodium or is low calorie is really tough. Not having very many options for the truck since my company doesn't supply an invertor or anything for my truck food options are slim; overcoming the healthy eating and becoming more active hasn't been easy but is getting easier. let's not forget getting out of the truck at the TruckStop sometimes isn't easy guys in the lot drive like it the Daytona 500 and in recent years there's been many guys killed by being hit by someone speeding through the lot and not paying attention or whatever they were doing! It has been a rough journey trying to lower my blood pressure and lose weight but things got to change my family counts on me, so it is something I need to do for them.

The biggest problem was never that. The biggest problem is that they new the track was unsafe, and not up for MotoGP standards and they still clear it to be used.

And not only they are using it for MotoGP, they are using it for JuniorGP and fro RedBull Rookies Cup too.

I need they need to start prioritizing riders safety and needs over the money track give him. Portimao has had too many bad accidents

jfc Dorna and FIM have done a supreme job covering the Carlos Tatay situation up by simply shutting the fuck up about it. what pieces of shit they continue to be unfailingly

right? they avoid taking responsibility for what's happening, despite being implicated in multiple stages of tatay's story. the FIM and Dorna set the regulations and schedule that puts riders at a higher risk of injury by packing the calendar with races and implementing rule/spec changes for "faster" i.e. more dangerous racing. and after riders get hit with a life-changing injury and an impossibly steep medical bill, they REFUSE to work with national and regional motorcyclists' federations to try and help athletes. an absolute disgrace.
