Season 3 Rapunzel has been such a labor of love- she still isn’t done yet, obviously, but I wore her for the first time to fan expo this past weekend. (My sister Fox is behind me as Kokori-San)

this thing is entirely hand sewn with heaps of hand embroidery and has specially designed fabrics- the dark purple reflects where Rapunzel is right now with lots of bird and balloon imagery while the light purple has symbols representing all her friends :)

my next task is adding additional embroidery to the puff sleeves, redoing the cuffs entirely bc those were rush jobs to be wearable and of course, the wig

I plan on having the sun drop have a detachable embroidered sun brooch piece so that the sundrop can glow through :)

I just wanted to come introduce myself, so hello! My name is Autumn or Autumnal Equinox Cosplay. I have been cosplaying for about 5 and a half years now, and I’ve been sewing for about 3 years. I’ve got a few judges award to my name and love doing cosplay competitions.

I used to be on tumblr many years ago but given the current state of other social medias sites I wanted to come and give this a try!

I wanted my first post to also be of my favorite cosplay I’ve made which is my original design Witch Rapunzel! I might post some WIP pictures of this build later on so if you are interested in that just stick around 😊

i bought this wig for a mermaid look but decided to try it on with my rapunzel dress for fun 💜💜💜 this punzie's thinking about going to the pink pony club next to the snuggly duckling

she’s (basically) done!! I did break the sword and have to remake it (it doesn’t glow like it’s supposed to and cuz the light is super glued in I can’t take it out) but I cut off the excess lights that were gonna rap around the sword and now I just have one that doesn’t glow lol

Do you or do you not have a Rapunzel wig somewhere in your closet?

I do not!

Part of why I (mostly) keep my naturally brown hair cut in Rapunzel's style is so that I don't need a wig.

(I also don't have a proper Rapunzel costume in my closet.)

Rapunzel cosplay update:

So. I am to the dreaded ✨ pink wrapped blouse. ✨ Idk why, but I do NOT like making blouses/tops. Skirts, dresses, corsets, coats, heck yeah I’m there. Blouses? Screw that noise.

BUT. We are on Mission: Fabric Stash Reduction and we are going to MAKE THIS BLOUSE GOSHDANGIT.

So first draft. Slapped it on the mannequin with the corset and skirt, and it has the neckline silhouette we want (sans sleeves currently). Beautiful. Love that.

Gonna make it out of this rose-colored crepe chiffon that complements the other colors (and me). Perfect. Lovely.

Except uh. I have all of 1 yard of this stuff and there is no way I’m getting even 1 sleeve out of it like this.

But good news! We have 1.75 yards of this bright baby pink stretch crepe! And I f****** hate it.

So help me Ye Gods of Sewing…

I am about to commit war crimes.
