I know we're in the worst timeline because Joe Mazzello is not in a movie at LEAST once a year.

I may not know much but there's something in and around the fact that now we now know that Agatha gave up her child for the Darkhold, giving away her family in exchange for power, and how Wanda has power but in creating the hex and her family she essentially chose to prioritise a family over relishing in her own power past her rather mundane goals. something then about Wanda essentially being given the sacrifice that Agatha had to make pre-packaged with the realisation of her own power in losing her family in exchange for the Darkhold's magical knowledge
#they are sooooo wizard and sorcerer coded its crazyyyy#i really hope they do end up going along with agatha's pretty obvious grief and regret of losing her child#at least thats what i got from ep 3#god i wish i owned these characters and could write for them myself sam rami i will NOT forgive you for multiverse of madness anytime soon#and marvel you dont deserve them either#agatha all along#agatha harkness#wanda maximoff

another thing i absolutely despise about marvel is that it always has to be a team movie, one main character doesn't exist anymore. it always has to be a group of heroes in solo movies and everyone will constantly talk about how much they hope certain characters are in new movies instead of the TITLE CHARACTER, like please calm down they make 50 movies a year you'll get your turn let someone else have the spotlight PLEASE
#sorry for complaining about marvel this morning#saw a post about she hulk being in cap 4 and ill kill myself#let sam wilson have a movie please im begging on my knees#he deserves the spotlight#my ass has not watched a recent marvel movie since that sam rami dr strange so i could be lying but this is also why i dont watch

So I finished reading R.F. Kuang's Babel today.
I have innumerable thoughts. This book has resonated with me in ways I'll be uncovering for months, as a Black British man.
It's about language. It's about colonialism. It's about being taken away from home. It's about missing a home you never knew. It's about never being able to go back, even when you do. It's about gilded cages. It's about invisible chains but you can still feel the pull. It's about Oxford. It's about a new home. It's about a place that doesn't want you. It's about family. It's about the elephant in the room. It's about truths that will never be spoken aloud. It's about never asking the question to avoid a lie. It's about friendship. It's about never knowing what you were missing until you have it. It's about love. It's about being united by pain. It's about brotherhood. It's about seeing what you could've been. It's about seeing what you'll become. It's about seeing your reflection. It's about distortions in meaning. It's about losing everything in one fell swoop. It's about your friend's laugh you'll never hear again. It's about unanswered questions. It's about love turning into grief turning into malice turning into violence. It's about never truly being understood. It's about betrayal. It's about privilege. It's about refusing to understand. It's about silver. It's about learning to loathe your own people. It's about dehumanising. It's about racism. It's about breaking yourself to turn into an appealing picture for your oppressors. It's about knowing you'll never be enough. It's about knowing you'll never be human to them. It's about being expected to be grateful for your treatment. It's about biting the hand that feeds. It's about never wanting to be fed in the first place. It's about never, ever, understanding this because you refuse to see past your privilege. It's about suffering. It's about sacrifice. It's about so, so, so much that I could go on all day and still not do it justice. And most importantly, it's about translation. I love this book.
#babel or the necessity of violence#babel an arcane history#r.f. kuang#babel spoilers#ramy deserved so much better#a reread is going to absolutely destroy me i know it#so glad my partner got this for me for Christmas#please read this if you have the chance#almost cried in a cafe while reading it.#book recommendations#robin... my poor sweet man

well. we just saw Poor Things in the cinema. and I'm. so. ?????
#I've never been this confused and conflicted about anything in my life#I kept checking my watch but not to look at the time (didn't know how long the movie was anyway) no I had to keep looking at#pictures of John Larroquette every time I got too upset#so much surgery stuff#I almost left#most of this movie was pretty much.... what my nightmares feel like.#never seen anything that has that exact same feeling#literally this was the most terrifying horrifying awful thing I have ever seen#no horror movie has ever scared me this much#also so many genitals#wow#and just. everything#not the point at all but tbh I only didn't leave because ramy youssef is extremely beautiful and I needed to look at his face again#and I kinda don't like Mark Ruffalo anymore.... not his fault he did a great job but. no don't like it#I'm. having feelings and they feel weird#I will never watch this again ever as long as I live but I really liked the ending. very nice. the goat guy got what he deserved 💖#personal

I could listen to Rami talk about fashion all day. The dude knows his stuff and doesn't care how that might make him look to heteronormative jackasses.
And I'm so proud of him getting the chance to make his own film. This is a guy doing bit parts 10 years or so ago. Now he's an Academy Award winning actor who can take his pick of roles. He's working with (in my opinion) one of the greatest directors of this generation, Christopher Nolan, on Oppenheimer. This guy made through sheer Not Giving Up and refusing to allow himself to be defined by his race.
#rami malek#rami said malek#you deserve the world#it kinda make me angry and sad at the same time though about Michael#please get help because you could have had this#and you do deserve the world i don't care what anyone says

Marvel, marketing MoM: oooh we made the first ever horror movie in Marvel, it's more graphic than anything we've made before!
Michael Giancchino and the rest of the Werewolf by Night team: hold our beer
#werewolf by night#multiverse of madness#remember that time they tried to market MoM as a Marvel's first horror movie and the only horrofying thing about it was the writing?#it was bad yall im sorry#and the wild thing is i love doctor strange and i watched Evil Dead kinda revently and i liked it so i dont think its that i dont like Rami#idk man it just wasnt good#anyways i believe in werewolf by night supremacy#and i will scream about it until marvel give it the attention it deserves#michael Giancchino#mcu#okay wait i thought about it and MoM does have one p graphic moment#that part when wanda kills black bolt is p gnarly ill give them that like the “with what mouth?” thing send shivers up my spine every time

Ok this is for the few who maybe have never heard about mr robot! ^_^ its a show about programmer/hacker elliot alderson (rami) who wants to change the world and challenge the power of the top 1%. It's smart, its clever, its very exciting to watch, and rami's voiceover is very soothing. A HUGE warning because this is my blog and yall know me - as good as this show is it also exhibits sexism and misogyny typical of computer scientists in the 2010's - its why it took me so long to finally watch the show. When you're in the middle of all that crap and experiencing asshole male programmers in real time the last thing you want to do is watch TV shows about them.
The tag on my blog is: freebooter4ever.tumblr.com/tagged/qwerty%20deserves%20a%20bigger%20fishbowl
@s-k-y-w-a-l-k-e-r is like the best mr robot gif artist, she captures all those artistic angles beautifully AND fixes the lighting - its magic.
#Qwerty deserves a bigger fishbowl#The story behind the tag#Is that Qwerty is Elliot's pet fish#And this whole show is about trying to end the corruption of the billionaire class right?#And yet elliot keeps his pet fish in this crappy little fishbowl that is NOT a good regulation sized tank#So like here we are supposed to believe he is doing all this to change the lives of the downtrodden and people who feel helpless#Against corporations#And yet the tiny helpless fish living in his appartment is not being given a healthy environment#I just thought it was very ironic and worth pointing out :(#It was also one of the failings of the show - i think it TRIES to critique elliots sexism and hatred of society#just like i think its intentional that elliot doesnt take care of his fish properly#But it never really condemns him for it or show him changing in a real way#Even in the fourth season elliot STILL treats women like they are of lesser regard (except his sister)#He fucking drugs a girl who is an addict and its just waved off like he's still this innocent cute sweetheart with big rami malek eyes LOL
