I know we're in the worst timeline because Joe Mazzello is not in a movie at LEAST once a year.

I may not know much but there's something in and around the fact that now we now know that Agatha gave up her child for the Darkhold, giving away her family in exchange for power, and how Wanda has power but in creating the hex and her family she essentially chose to prioritise a family over relishing in her own power past her rather mundane goals. something then about Wanda essentially being given the sacrifice that Agatha had to make pre-packaged with the realisation of her own power in losing her family in exchange for the Darkhold's magical knowledge

another thing i absolutely despise about marvel is that it always has to be a team movie, one main character doesn't exist anymore. it always has to be a group of heroes in solo movies and everyone will constantly talk about how much they hope certain characters are in new movies instead of the TITLE CHARACTER, like please calm down they make 50 movies a year you'll get your turn let someone else have the spotlight PLEASE

So I finished reading R.F. Kuang's Babel today.
I have innumerable thoughts. This book has resonated with me in ways I'll be uncovering for months, as a Black British man.
It's about language. It's about colonialism. It's about being taken away from home. It's about missing a home you never knew. It's about never being able to go back, even when you do. It's about gilded cages. It's about invisible chains but you can still feel the pull. It's about Oxford. It's about a new home. It's about a place that doesn't want you. It's about family. It's about the elephant in the room. It's about truths that will never be spoken aloud. It's about never asking the question to avoid a lie. It's about friendship. It's about never knowing what you were missing until you have it. It's about love. It's about being united by pain. It's about brotherhood. It's about seeing what you could've been. It's about seeing what you'll become. It's about seeing your reflection. It's about distortions in meaning. It's about losing everything in one fell swoop. It's about your friend's laugh you'll never hear again. It's about unanswered questions. It's about love turning into grief turning into malice turning into violence. It's about never truly being understood. It's about betrayal. It's about privilege. It's about refusing to understand. It's about silver. It's about learning to loathe your own people. It's about dehumanising. It's about racism. It's about breaking yourself to turn into an appealing picture for your oppressors. It's about knowing you'll never be enough. It's about knowing you'll never be human to them. It's about being expected to be grateful for your treatment. It's about biting the hand that feeds. It's about never wanting to be fed in the first place. It's about never, ever, understanding this because you refuse to see past your privilege. It's about suffering. It's about sacrifice. It's about so, so, so much that I could go on all day and still not do it justice. And most importantly, it's about translation. I love this book.

I could listen to Rami talk about fashion all day. The dude knows his stuff and doesn't care how that might make him look to heteronormative jackasses.
And I'm so proud of him getting the chance to make his own film. This is a guy doing bit parts 10 years or so ago. Now he's an Academy Award winning actor who can take his pick of roles. He's working with (in my opinion) one of the greatest directors of this generation, Christopher Nolan, on Oppenheimer. This guy made through sheer Not Giving Up and refusing to allow himself to be defined by his race.

Here, take some happy Julian Ramis for the soul

The fact that this is the first time he’s smiled since his first appearance in S1 is both happy and lowkey depressing

Ok this is for the few who maybe have never heard about mr robot! ^_^ its a show about programmer/hacker elliot alderson (rami) who wants to change the world and challenge the power of the top 1%. It's smart, its clever, its very exciting to watch, and rami's voiceover is very soothing. A HUGE warning because this is my blog and yall know me - as good as this show is it also exhibits sexism and misogyny typical of computer scientists in the 2010's - its why it took me so long to finally watch the show. When you're in the middle of all that crap and experiencing asshole male programmers in real time the last thing you want to do is watch TV shows about them.
The tag on my blog is: freebooter4ever.tumblr.com/tagged/qwerty%20deserves%20a%20bigger%20fishbowl
@s-k-y-w-a-l-k-e-r is like the best mr robot gif artist, she captures all those artistic angles beautifully AND fixes the lighting - its magic.
