You ignored the thundering noises from the night sky above, forcing your way into your apartment building and skipping two steps at a time just to get to your door. A messy scramble with your keys and you managed to get in, calling out your hybrid’s name and closing the door behind you. “Jimin?”

The apartment was dark, not a single light on as you headed towards your bedroom. 

“Babe.”

You halted in your tracks and turned around, a pout forming on your lips with the sight of him. “I’m so sorry, baby.” 

You headed straight for his arms, not waiting for them to open to allow you to embrace him. It brought calmness to your mind now that the two of you were together, but knowing you couldn’t keep your promise to spend a romantic day together shot a pang through your heart. Your fingers trailed through his hair, gripping his locks as you brought him closer. “I wanted us to go out at least when I got home from work, but this storm is gonna make us stay in.” 

Right on cue another thunderous clap rang out, further proving it was best decided to stay in for the late evening. The arms around your waist tightened from the noise, giving a reminder of your kitty’s fear of thunder as the puppy ears atop of his head flattened back.  

“You’re wet and cold.” Jimin commented, pressing a feather light kiss against the skin of your exposed neck, bringing a tingle of warmth. “Let’s take a nice, hot bath together.” 

That you did, letting Jimin run the bath as you set a pot of water on the stove to ready some instant ramen. Two packs and a slice of cheese for the both of you, making the fast meal just the way he enjoyed it best. You removed your clothes on your way to the bathroom, making a mental note to gather your wet garments when you got out. He sat in the bubble-filled tub waiting for you; a small, tired smile on his face when he locked eyes with yours. He raised his wet soaked arms and ushered you in, helping you step into the hot water and maneuvering you to sit down with your back against his chest. The feeling was amazing with Jimin’s hands all over, massaging and working out every knot in your muscles that he could reach. You melted against his body, eyes heavy as moans slipped out from your parted lips. 

You didn’t make it out of the bath before the ramen got cold, having to reheat the noodles before the two of you sat on the hardwood floor in front of the large window in the living room. The old window held up well against the storm, pettled with raindrops and fog as the rain came down. You could still get a peek of the thick clouds and dark sky above, watching the rain come down upon the city.  

Nothing compared to being huddled together with a blanket covering over the tops of your heads, a dog tail swishing about from behind. You stayed close, feeling the warmth radiate off of him as you contemplated climbing into his lap and kissing him senseless, letting him know the love you’ve found from just being right here. Or maybe, just a single whisper would do.

“I love you.”
