Me: I'm fine about my autism now btw, like I've come to terms with my fixated interests, limited tolerances and social inabilities. The alienation it brings is not ideal but it's just a reality I've gotta deal with now that I know it's just a part of who I am. I mean, it's not like an awkward conversation is gonna ruin anyone's life, is it? We'll both move on from it eventually. This is fine!
Also me: physically unable to watch beyond the first word of the first question of The Assembly because oh my god what if someone says something awkward or controversial or someone can't make themselves understood people are gonna get mad and scream about it online and I will freeze up and be stuck in the backlash forever I don't know how to handle conflict AT ALL let's just hide in the corner behind the sofa instead wait what if I became a hermit actually yeah yeah yeah that sounds good let's do that
#unresolved trauma? never even heard of her haha đ
#maddie debrief#that 2-minute intro/taster did nothing to calm me down either btw#I'm never comfortable around the types of shows where 'difference' becomes the core conceit of the premise#oh. so you've created a format dependent on making a socially alienated group face the social rules that made them alien in the first place#and then deriving your conflict from the 'natural contradiction' between the two?#sounds like the exact kind of conflict-seeking environment where I can let my normal guard down enough to meaningfully challenge#my deeply rooted feeling that people generally find me cumbersome to be around and mostly just tolerate my presence out of necessity#lovely that#(like i say I haven't seen the show#so idk if it is actually like that or if it's just the promo material stirring shit up as per usual#but as of rn I do not feel welcome in this room)#why does the 'we're not so different after all' always have to come at the climax and never the midpoint of the story?#why can we never find more than personal gratification in that realisation?#why do we always focus on the difficulty of coming to the realisation rather than the conflict of putting the realisation into *practice*?#I know why#it is because the human imagination is far more limited than we like to believe#and we find it hard to even *imagine* a world that we haven't seen functioning for ourselves yet#let alone find a purpose in *acting* on the idea#(especially if we ourselves currently feel dependent on the status quo for our personal welfare#which is why shows made to depend on 'difference = conflict' make my blood run cold)#so if we have to see to believe - how many cases of real world functioning equity does the average person understand?#very few. so let's instead lazily invert the state of power in an existing dynamic that people are familiar with#thereby reaffirming its false dichotomy through perpetuating what is essentially the same old conflict#while claiming to subvert it when in fact all we have done is reverse the dominance while keeping everyone locked in their roles#can someone just put some thought into how we might create a format that aims to loosen up the underlying skewed power dyanmic#so that everyone has to work together to prevent the elevation of a single way of being over all others#because that just becomes suffocating to *everyone* in the end#and that can still *acknowledge difference* but not as a source of conflict - rather as a source of collective strength?#but the story of changing one perspective will always be easier to both tell and enjoy than the one about building something new

Propaganda
Merle Oberon (Wuthering Heights, The Scarlet Pimpernel)âShe was mixed race (born in India and her mother was Sri Lankan) and still managed to make it in the British and American film industries (by passing) despite a rough start in life and industry racism. She was the first Asian person to be nominated for any Academy Award (best actress in 1935)! She also survived a car accident in 1937 and kept on acting until 1973, despite potentially career-ending facial scars. Also, she met her third husband while they were filming a movie together in 1973 (her last movie and she still looks great!). They fell in love and got married in 1975 when she was 62 and he was 36. She died 4 years later in 1979. Iconic.
Jean Seberg (Breathless, Saint Joan)â Some of us watched Ă bout de souffle as a lil French undergrad and had the trajectory of our lives changed by Jean Seberg. She IS French new wave!! She is the moment!! She sadly had to work with a lot of shitty directors in her career but even so, she has this magnetic energy whenever sheâs on screen. In her personal life, she was also very supportive of civil rights causes, and was even targeted/harassed by the FBI for financially supporting the Black Panther Party.
This is round 3 of the tournament. All other polls in this bracket can be found here. Please reblog with further support of your beloved hot sexy vintage woman.
[additional propaganda submitted under the cut.]
Merle Oberon:
Beautiful. Talented. Biracial. Also please refer to the following promo from the aforementioned A Night To Remember, in which she plays the writer George Sand:
Her performances always give off this perfect blend of of being composed, refined, and aloof while still being deeply passionate and I eat it up every time.
Linked gifset
A rare example of a WOC working in lead roles in this era (mostly because she worked very hard to pass as white and had to hide her south asian heritage sadly). She has this very regal vibe but also a simmering intensityâeven holding her own as Cathy opposite Laurence Olivier as Heathcliff.
I need all the gothic fans to STAND UP for our cathy!!
She has such a unique face when it comes to old hollywood actresses - a lot of them start to melt together in my brain - but Merle has always stood out to me<3
Jean Seberg:
anyone who plays Joan of Arc is kind of hot by default tbh
she's gorgeous, she's cool, she has the original blond pixie cut
She donated a lot of her money to civil rights organizations such as the NAACP and the black panther party as well as Native American school groups, as a result of this the fbi ran a smear campaign against her and a surveillance campaign which is thought to have led to her suicide tragically.
idk if this is propaganda but the COINTELPRO and the FBI are widely blamed for her death. If the FBI was after her for supporting the Black Panther Party you know she was good
#jean seberg#merle oberon#fuck that old woman#hotvintagepoll#ladies 3#making the choice to change merle's photo of my own volition because I Know What You People Do When You See A Menswear Contestant#and need to equal the playing field here if jean's showing up in full joust mode

On the "Choose a Side" Discourse
With HBO leaning veryyyy heavily into "pick a side" for their promos, the "no team" people are crawling out of the woodwork. I want to preface this post by saying that I'm not saying people shouldn't have favorite characters who aren't mine, nor that people should just be totally invested in fandom discourse.
I already made a post about the issues with the arguments of the "no team" people, so I'll just summarize my thoughts from that real quick. A majority of their arguments and metas are thinly veiled anti Rhaenyra thoughts. That's still true of this new wave of this group.
Now, one thing I will agree with them on is: GRRM did not write this story to be one of choose a side. However, that is not because the Blacks and the Greens are equally bad or the Targaryens are all evil. No, it's because the Greens were always in the wrong and GRRM makes this abundantly clear to us in F&B.
Let's look at some facts from the Dance. While male primogeniture is tradition, it's not the law; the king's word is law, something ASOIAF has established time and again. The Greens took the throne through underhanded ways. They left Viserys' body to rot for days while they prepared for Aegon's coronation to prevent Rhaenyra from learning and coming to KL. They forced the smallfolk to attend and most didn't cheer for Aegon, with some even calling for Rhaenyra while most were confused and angry.
Aemond drew first blood by killing the unarmed thirteen year old envoy, Lucerys Velaryon. A majority of the realm declared for Rhaenyra; 53 houses supported her, while only 28 supported Aegon. The Greens committed the greatest atrocities of the Dance: Aemond burning the Riverlands and Daeron massacring Tumbleton. They also committed the greater number of atrocities.
The Greens also lost the war. The Blacks weren't just fighting for Rhaenyra, they fought for her heirs as well. This is why they swore to her and Jacaerys; later for Aegon III after the deaths of his older brothers. The Black forces continued to fight after Rhaenyra's murder and took KL. Aegon was murdered by his own men when the Blacks were marching on KL; in other words, the Greens knew they were beat, so they killed Aegon in an attempt to save themselves. Since Aegon left no heirs aside from Jaehaera, Aegon III was crowned and married to Jaehaera. The Blacks won the war.
Aegon the Usurper's bloodline is destroyed with the deaths of Jaehaera and Gaemon Palehair. This is the final affirmation of the Greens being in the wrong. GRRM's books punish usurpers by wiping out their bloodlines; Maegor and Robert Baratheon being the most obvious examples. Aegon and all the Greens have no descendants, their bloodline is dead.
Rhaenyra's bloodline, on the other hand, continues all the way through to the main series. Daenerys Targaryen, the most powerful character in the series, is her descendant, as is Jon Snow (unconfirmed as of now in the books) who is another of the key five. Rhaenyra may have died, but her faction won the war and her bloodline will save the world through her two greatest descendants (alongside the rest of the key five).
The Dance of the Dragons is, ultimately, a story of the damage the patriarchy does and how misogyny is destructive to the world. The Dance caused the death of the dragons and a great loss of power for women in the realm. Queen consorts after Rhaenyra had markedly less power and there was a drop in female leaders of the great houses. The loss of the dragons caused the weakening of magic in the world as a whole.
The Dance isn't about who your favorite war criminal is, nor is it about the evil of the Targaryens. It's about misogyny; something HOTD seems to have forgotten. Even before they started pushing TB vs TG so hard, they still missed the point.
It doesn't matter that Rhaenyra isn't a perfect, or even a good, person. It doesn't matter that Rhaenyra is non-conforming, plays the political game, and exploits her father's favor. Rhaenyra could have been as pious and well-behaved as Naerys and the Greens still would have usurped her. Rhaenyra could have had children with Laenor, and still the Greens would have usurped her. HOTD tries to paint the usurpation as partially being on Rhaenyra and her choices, but nothing Rhaenyra could have done would have been good enough.
The Blacks are the protagonists of the Dance. Are they perfect? No. Are they heroes? No. GRRM loves his gray characters, the Blacks are no exception. If you people want a story with black and white morality and perfect protagonists, go read another book. Just because people aren't perfect and don't operate exclusively in what's right according to our modern standards doesn't mean they aren't the protagonists.
In conclusion: there isn't a TB vs TG discourse in the Dance because the Greens are the antagonists and completely in the wrong. The point of the Dance is that the misogyny of the Greens damaged the realm. Rhaenyra is the rightful queen, there is no actual argument for Aegon or any of his allies.
Rhaenyra is the rightful queen to Westeros, go cry to George if you don't like it.

Hello i was asking if you could do Platonic Judgement day x fem reader?
When reader is a lot younger than the rest of them and they have a family bond like siblings or parental views and she is new talent and with all that comes some fame and when out (wherever you like) Reader gets attention from an old man as she walks to the toilets alone? Its okay if you dont want to xx
Silhouette - Pastel Ghost
parings - Platonic! The Judgment Day x Wrestler! Reader - Kinda Rhea x Reader in a way
Warnings - Angst , implications of Feeling lightheaded , weird old man , R! getting knocked into a wall , reader passes out, thats all tell me if I missed some!!
please do not read this if you have suffered trauma from any of these things!!
Word Count - 0.5k
You and The Judgment Day had grown closer as you began wrestler. Damian and Rhea , training you and teaching you new moves that hadnt yet been introduced to you. And although you were a couple years younger than the youngest member of, which was Dominik, you all had a family/sibling dynamic.
You had started yiur wresting career at the 2019 royal rumble , being competiter #15. Although not many people knew you at the time , your career had grown throughout the years. And with the help of The Judgment Day, a fandom grew lager and larger until eventually you got your title shot.Â
It was you versus becky lynch for the smackdown womenâs championship. You had fought hard and long to get the title shot as none of the other wrestlers made it easier for you. Becky didnt go easy on you either. But image the suprise when you had pinned her, making you the new smack down womenâs champion.
Your rise also grew more in 2023. At first not many paid attention to you as far as visuals and talent. But soon enough people started noticing the talent you had not only for promos , but in the ring. This made you a fan favorite around the world. Soon your merch was selling out. You started meeting many fans around the world as you Traveled, and people started recognizing you more and more as time went on. You felt like you were on top of earth. This was your dream after all.
Right now , you were getting ready to go out to a restaurant with The Judgment Day. After all , they are your best friends. You heard the doorbell ring , as you put on the last piece of jewelry for your outfit. You quickly headed downstairs , grabbing your phone and keys as you unlocked the door, met with Dominik , standing outside the door waiting for you. You quickly gave him a hug as he opened his mouth to speak.Â
âHey , you ready?â He asked
âYup letâs go,â you replied with a smile.
You opened the door of the truck as you were met with the faces of the 3 wrestlers.Â
âHi guys!â You smiled at them.
They all responded with a âhiâ as they all gave you separate hugs. Which was hard due to being in the car , but you made it work. Finn drove as you,  Dominik and Damian , and Rhea played game pigeon together in the group chat.
When you guys arrived at the restaurant, the wait hadnât been long , as a couple minutes of waiting, a waiter had seat you guys at a booth nearby. As you all sat down , a waited came by , introducing themselves and taking our drink orders. After a couple minutes of waiting , the waited came back  with drinks on a trey. We decided on what to order as the waiter took our order.
After ordering , I decided to go wash my hands in the bathroom. As I walked to the bathroom , you didnât notice a man following nearby. And when you did you hadnât thought much about it. Maybe he had to go to the bathroom too , you thought. But your thoughts were rushed away when he had followed you into the girls bathroom. Which didnât go unnoticed by Rhea , as she sat at a good enough view of the bathroom , that she could see the man getting into the bathroom.Â
Before you could turn around to see the man, he spoke first.
âHey , im a big fan I was wondering if I could have an autograph, or maybe your number,â he spoke
You turned to look at the man and realized he was old. I mean he looked like he was in his 60s at-least.
âI can give you an autograph â but not my num-,â I was cut off when he slammed me into a wall. I felt the pain hit my back as I tried getting up , with no luck.Â
âJust give me your number its not that hard,â he yelled at you. You wished this could end , why was he doing this and how were you going to get out of this? You could stand , and he was towering over you.
You heard the mans scream as a loud thump echoed in the bathroom. You looked up , your hair mostly in your face as you saw the silhouette of someone. You moved your hair out of your face as you relished it was Rhea.Â
âHoney , are you alright,â She spoke. You could she was panicking just by the sound of her breathing.
âI-I cant get up..â you spoke. Still shocked by the events that had occurred in just an hour of being here. Rheas mind stopped for a moment. She wanted to kill this guy. But she knew you and your safety was more important.
âI want to leave Rhea ⊠p-please,â You said again. You felt the tears pricking your eyes as your breathing got heavier. The atmosphere of the bathroom making you feel scared thinking about what took place.
Rhea car-fully picked you up , bridal style as she led you over to the boys. Once they got a view of you and Rhea, they had felt like it had been a punch to their heart. They stopped their conversation as they went to stand up , getting a better look at you.
âLass what happened?â Finna spoke. He was getting more worried by the second and to be completely honest, so was the rest of the group.
Tried answering, but nothing could come out your mother but silent sobs. Rhea explained what happened, but about halfway though, you had already passed out in Rheas arms.

Sing Timeline
After awhile of trying to figure out realistically in what order all the Sing materials occur just due to the events we see in certain promo material as well as shorts, I believe to have a current working timeline of everything that is likely canon to the story.
I did have rules on what materials could be included which were:
Only things that visibly included the Sing Cast could count to the timeline.
Clear ads or real world product promotion does not count.
No crossovers, no matter how fun.
This is only my personal theory so feel free to disagree but it is as follows:
----------
Sing for the Gold
This comes first as it just shows different talent show auditionees all enjoying music and singing without really revealing much about them or the plot. But! Still all canon sing characters.
Sing 1/Eddies Life Coach
In Sing 1, Eddie mentions that his mom has him meeting with a life coach to figure out his true purpose. That could very well be Gary, as it seems to follow his training mindset, and explain why Eddie is so infrequently appearing in the middle of the movie.
Gunter Babysits
Considering how this shows Gunter and Rosita as friends, as well as Norman and Rosita going out for the night (potentially even working on their relationship by doing so), it would make sense that this happens soon after Sing 1.
Animal Attraction
Darius had already won awards by the time he was cast in Out Of This World, something that he brags about to his new castmates. This would allow him to gain that notoriety that Buster was talking about as well as be likely new in the job market when OOTW begins casting.
Love at First Sight
Just due to the nature of the short (being about romance), I typically place it around Valentine's Day as that's also when people typically start really wanting romance much more vocally. This also would explain why Johnny's clothes are still from Sing 1, as his family would still be in jail and likely still aren't having much money/are there to give him new hand-me-downs.
Sing 2
I typically see this as a little over to exactly a year after the first movie timeline wise just due to Calatonia weather being very similar and that would also have likely been about the amount of prison time the gang would have served.
For Gunterâs Eyes Only
The only reason that this is not overlapping with Sing 2 is purely how busy the cast was during the entire movie. Slipping out even for one night for a show doesn't really make sense.
Itâs Showtime
The stage area that the cast is in looks different from Crystal Theatre, leading me to believe it is likely the Majestic, though I am curious on why Johnny was all the way across town.
Sing: Thriller
Judging by the Halloween Party, this is seemingly set on Halloween, so the cast likely took a night or two off from Out Of This World to do a specialty performance back home.
Happy Holidays from Sing
Now, I know this was promo for the first movie. However, since Johnny can dance in this and the group seems really comfortable with each other, I'm placing it as after them having known each other for at least a year and Johnny going through dance lessons.
Come Home
Come Home mentions that they watch the "Moon Theatre Holiday Special" every year and the kids know the cast by name. Judging by how the kids seem young, likely around five or six years old, for this to have been a tradition, it probably would have started four or three years before. So this is actually likely a fair bit after both movies.
#okay the timeline has now been made lol#tbh the ice skating dancing#especially since it was breakdancing from johnny in happy holidays makes so much more sense after sing 2#you know when he was trained in breakdance???#and come home being a large passage of time would also explain how the theatre is so well known enough to be televised#sing#sing 2#sing johnny#sing buster#sing ash#sing 2016#sing 2021#sing thriller

Dallas Winston and his Love for Baseball
Based on this promo picture of Joshua Boone and conversations with @damthosefandoms!
In his early days, Dallas was a fan of the Brooklyn Dodgers. He is from Brooklyn and lived on Flatbush Avenue among various other neighborhoods.
He lived in a public housing unit till he was twelve. In this housing unit, he was able to meet and play with many other boys.
They would go outside and play baseball in the courtyard of the apartment building.
Dallas always had to play 1st baseman and was a good hitter. He loved to play.
This particular group of boys he was involved in were known to play all the time. They could often be found playing in the dead of New York winters.
This is where Dallas's father found an issue with it. After days spent playing in the snow, rain, and mud Dallas would come in soaking wet and tracking mud into the apartment. His dad did not like this at all and would often take it out on him.
Growing up in Brooklyn, he was a fan of the Dodgers and an avid Jackie Robinson fan. This was one thing that he and his father agreed on.
Though Jackie Robinson was a little before Dallas's time (he would have been eight when Jackie quit playing for the Dodgers), he still had regarded Robinson with a lot of hero worship. He even went so far as to write Jackie's number on all the ends of his sneakers. He thought it made him run faster.
Then in 1958, the Dodgers move to LA. This upsets Dallas and it's two years before he even considers being a Yankees fan. To this day, Dallas will get upset if you bring up the Dodgers moving to LA. He considers it the biggest betrayal of his childhood.
Dallas was close friends with the kid who liked to play catcher. His name was Louis and he was called Lou for short. He lived across the hall and they would hang out together all the time.
Later, needing a new team to root for they decide to become Yankees fans. It was either that or be Mets fans.
For some background, the Mets are based in Queens while the Yankees are based in the Bronx. Dallas (and most other kids in his neighborhood in Brooklyn) hate Queens. In the 1960s, Queens is a predominantly rich white borough with over 91% of the population being white. They also have the second lowest African American population out of any of the boroughs while Brooklyn has the highest African American population in 1960. Kids from Queens are often stereotyped as rich kids and living cushy lives who weren't great fighters. While the Bronx was often seen as the opposite. Kids from the Bronx were see as tough and dangerous. They also had the second highest African American population of any borough in the 1960s.
So it makes sense why Dallas would have wanted to be a Yankees fan instead of a Mets fan.
Dallas and Lou's favorite player was Elston Howard, who was a New York Yankee. He was a first baseman and also played catcher. He was also the first African American on the New York Yankees.
Dallas idolized Elston. Still did up till the day he died.
Dallas and Lou used to go to Yankees games as much as they could. They'd take the subway (when they could afford it) or spend an entire day walking all the way up to Yankee Stadium just to get a glimpse of their favorite players and game.
On the days when they couldn't go, they would listen to the games over the radio smoking and playing cards.
In school, he tried out to play baseball but couldn't afford to pay the fees. His father didn't get along with the coach and so he was kicked off the team. Lou was on the team though.
When Dallas left New York he only had time to grab a few things. He took a foul ball he had gotten at a Yankees game and an old Dodgers jersey from his childhood. It was all he could shove into his bag before he had to leave.
In Tulsa, Dallas kept up with the Yankees. Everyone who was into baseball in Tulsa either liked the Texas Rangers or the Kansas City Royals and he couldn't hardly stand that. Though people in Tulsa were mostly into football so it didn't really matter.
Dallas can remember a few times suggesting to the gang that they play baseball instead of football but he was always shot down pretty quick. He plays it off but it still makes him a little sad.
If there is one thing he misses about New York, it's Yankee stadium and the fact that you can always find kids playing a pick-up baseball game in the street.
Sorry this was longer than I meant it to be! Apparently I had a lot of thoughts about Dallas Winston and baseball. Let me know what you think, I love this subject!

De on Merv Griffin Star Trek II Promotion
Transcript below.
Merv: Well you saw DeForest in this last scene that we saw appear uh not the docking the- what do you call it? The?
Leonard: Iâm not going to help you.
Merv: Whatever they do with the ship in space to get it going.
Leonard: Weâre taking it out of space dock.
Merv: Taking it out of space-thatâs what you call it?
Leonard: Yes.
Merv: They were taking it out of the space-I thought there were technical words.
Leonard: Space dock is Bones McCoy.
Merv: Going to de-dock. De-dock the spaceship Yeah, yeah.
William: (unintelligible)
Merv: Well this is the young fella who portrays the outspoken shipâs surgeon Doctor Leonard Bones McCoy. Would you please greet DeForest Kelley.
DeForest: First off-
(unintelligible)
DeForest: Yeah. I want to tell you that I have nothing coming out other than Star Trek II except a 75-year-old turtle which just came out of hibernation.
William: Oh my word.
Merv: You wanna talk about it DeForest?
DeForest: Well her name is Myrtle
Merv: Myrtle the Turtle?
DeForest: Myrtle the Turtle which is a very original name of course.
Leonard: He or she?
DeForest: Myrtleâs a she. I gave you remember?
Leonard: Yes I remember.
Merv: And how do you know sheâs 75? Whereâd you peak around?
DeForest: Well a friend of ours gave us the turtle which was shown to a vet and the vet arrived at the age.
William: The rings around the shell.
DeForest: The rings around the shell and weâve had the turtle 10 years and we felt it would be a good thing to have something in the house older than both of us.
Merv: Was the house in an uproar when she came out of hibernation?
DeForest: Just a terrible uproar. It upsets us each spring, itâs a terrible feeling-but Iâm glad sheâs out. But I must tell you something before I forget about it. Iâm so scared, I never do talk shows you know.
Merv: Well weâre delighted youâre here
DeForest: Iâm absolutely a wreck I must tell you
William: You donât like a wreck Leonard-DeForest
Leonard: You look alright.
Merv: You look very relaxed and comfortable.
DeForest: Thank you.
Leonard: Youâre handling it beautifully De.
DeForest: Thatâs what you always tell me.
Merv: Youâve not always been a good guy on film.
DeForest: No, no I havenât.
Merv: You had your years of being the bad guy.
DeForest: Yes indeed. Yes, a great number of them.
Merv: Which is preferred DeForest?
DeForest: I donât know. I spent about 10 years trying to get out of the heavy department. There were a group of us running around at the time, James Coburn, and a guy named Jack Elam, with the crazy eye, and there were about 5 of us that were running from show to show. And I got into this thing, I like them because they really are the most interesting roles I find actually.
Merv: More guts to âem.
DeForest: But then like everything else, I wanted to get out of it. And I had just- I was finding my way out of it, slowly. I had done a film called âRaintree Countyâ in which I got away-he was still a heavy, I kill Lee Marvin in the show.
Merv: That very seldom almost ever happens.
DeForest: But he was a good guy as far as I was concerned. I only kill one guy. But then Eddie Dmytryk put me in a role at Paramount called âWhere Love Has Goneâ and that was not a heavy. Then I went into Star Trek after that and I got into the Doctor McCoy thing.
Merv: And youâve just been a lovely person ever since.
DeForest: Yes, Iâve just been darling.
Merv: Whatâs your most vicious moment on the screen do you feel DeForest?
Leonard: Insulting me.
DeForest: Yes, this is right here.
Leonard: All the time.
DeForest: My situation right here.
Leonard: This is terrible what I have to put up with him.
DeForest: I must tell you about some friends of yours that I do not know personally but on Star Trek one, I went to Australia and New Zealand to do some promo stuff for the film and on the way back I stopped in Hawaii for rest and relaxation. And while there, I was staying at the Kahala Hilton, if youâre familiar with it-
Merv: Very
DeForest: The units that are in the back of the hotel that lead right out to the beach the apartments-
Merv: Oh yeah right out on the-
DeForest: Yes.
Merv: Everyone always fights for those.
DeForest: Â And all we did was sleep we were so you know with the jetlag and the whole thing so I had been down to the pool a couple of times and found that it wasnât too- hi Bob how are you? That it wasnât-thatâs Bob Sallin
Merv: We know. Â
DeForest: Yeah we saw him. You put the camera on him, handsome. We had, Carolyn had not been out of the unit hardly at all and I had wondered out. I went to the swimming pool and I found the usual thing, signing autographs and that sort of thing. And I thought well thatâs no fun so, but I did see this beautiful coral reef running out to sea and I said, âCarolynâ I said âbefore we go back to Californiaâ I said âyou gotta come out, at least walk out on this coral reefâ. So we walked down these steps and there was the grass and then the beach. And as we got to the foot of the stairs this applause, tremendous applause, these people on the beach, started to applaud and I thought âMy God it canâtâ you know this is impossible.
Merv: Well your best performances-
DeForest: Carolyn said âjust ignore it and keep walkingâ. I said âI canât do that.â They just kept applauding and kept applauding. I said âI canât do thatâ I said âI must go and speak to them, at least say hello.â So I walk out there, and here was Don Rickles and his wife.
Merv: Probably coming out of the coral.
DeForest: Thatâs right, out of the coral. Steve and Eydie.
Merv: Oh the whole gang.
DeForest: And Bob Newhart and his wife. I had never met them before. Come to find out theyâre the biggest Trekkies in the world. They had seen the film the night before and they were thrilled with it. The only thing was they Eydie said that she was very unhappy about the theme, the music, and she missed the Star Trek theme. But I had to tell you that because Iâve seen them on your show so many times.
Merv: Oh I know. And I have also been there at the same time they have been at the Kahala.
DeForest: They go there every Christmas.
Merv: And the only fortunate one who is ever there is that dolphin who can swim underwater and get away from Don Rickles. Letâs show another-I canât wait. I figure if I show enough of these clips I wonât have to pay to see the movie.
DeForest: We havenât seen it.
Merv: Oh, well this is where Khan, or âCanâ as the case may be. Richardo âMat-ol-banâ Montalban has killed almost everybody but Captain Kirk. (Note: earlier Shatner was being interview alone, and at one point he pronounced "Wrath" as "Wroth" so Merv and Leonard had been teasing him about his pronunciation .)
DeForest: I see.
Merv: Oh you havenât seen it?
DeForest: No I havenât seen it.
Merv: Is there a doctor in the house?
DeForest: But I see what youâre talking about. Yes, youâve got it here.
Merv: Another scene from Star Trek II. Watch.
When they come back from the clip William talks about Ricardo and then they go to a commercial so I ended it here. The interview continues with Bibi Besch coming out, but I have not been able to find that portion of it.

Jack Champion x Photographer!Reader
Part 1/?
âïž Fluff
Summary: y/n is a photographer for the new scream promo and Jack thinks she belongs in front of the camera rather than behind.
"Y/N did you double check the SD card was empty?" My best friend and work partner, Leah, shouted from down the hall. "Yeah it was the first thing i did this morning,"
Leah and I have been working together ever since college where we met during our photography course. We have been inseparable since both landing a job at a highly praised magazine company.
Today is going to be a great day as we have been given the front cover photoshoot with full creative control too. It has been my childhood dream to have even a small picture but another front page? The feeling never gets old.
Leah and I finish packing all of our equipment into the car and we start the drive down to the studios in LA. As itâs kind of a long drive Leah starts our little road-trip with our favourite song. We scream the lyrics and laugh when the people, in the cars that pass us, give us strange looks.
To save our voices from any extreme damage, we put on some less energetic music and go over the plan for the day. âWait, have you seen the cast for Scream 6?â Leah suddenly asks.
âYeh like sorta⊠no not reallyâ I answer scrambling for my phone. âWell we know Jenna from the Wednesday shoot so thatâs less worrying right?â I say as I wait for the list to load.
âOh yeah I forgot you did that! Do you think she will remember you?â
(Scream VI Groupchat POV)
Jenna- how close is everyone to the studio?
Devyn- Iâm parked outside
Melissa- the shoot starts in half an hour
Devyn- I LIKE TO BE EARLY OK?!
Jasmine- YOU DIDNâT HAVE TO BRING ME THIS EARLY TOO THO
Liana- wait you guys drove together? You couldâve invited me đ„ș
Jasmine- use that emoji again and I will become ghostface
Liana- đ„șsowyđ„ș
âJasmineâ has left the group chat.
Mason- Jenna this is your fault
Jack- What the hell did I just miss?
Jenna- HOW WAS IT MY FAULT?
Mason- YOU ASKED THE QUESTION
Jack- Jenna, Mason is the reason we are running late please donât kill us.
Jenna- thanks for actually answering jack, mason Iâm going to kill you
âDevynâ added âJasmineâ to the group.
Devyn- see you guys soon!
(Y/N POV)
â I doubt she will remember, I didnât really speakâ I answer, as I start to cringe over my previous shoots without Leah. Leah is literally my rock, and she knows this as she looks over to me. âYou will be great, Iâll be there if things get too awkward, and you have all your notes on your phone and in your notebook.â I give her a smile as I reach for said notes to calm my nerves.
When we arrive at the studio I already see two of the actors and they wave as we walk past their car. I feel a lot less stressed as I see that everything is clean for us to set up our equipment. Leah and I finish in a record time thanks to my meticulously drawn plan of the placement for lights and tripods.
One of the producers walks in to check if we are ready. He lets us know that two actors are going to be late but it wonât ruin the shoot. As he leaves to alert the cast Leah stands next to me to make sure I donât run away.
âOMG it is you!â I hear a voice come round the corner. âI thought I recognised your name, guys this is the talent who created all the Wednesday promo!â Jenna exclaims to the group before walking over to hug me.
âIt is great to see you again Jenna! And itâs lovely to meet all of you too.â I say to the room. âIâm Y/N, this is Leah and the stylists are in the other room.â I start to explain the plan for the day.
âSo any questions?â I ask after I realise Iâve been talking rambling for too long. âOh last thing, sorry, if at any point you feel uncomfortable or awkward in a pose or something, just let me know and I will sort it as fast as I can.â I let the cast go to their stylists, who they knew from set, and walk towards my camera and laptop to make sure everything is loaded up and ready to go.
âShe did remember you.â Leah said in a hushed giggle as my face starts to go red.
(Jackâs POV)
We are late. Mason is late. So Iâm late. I hate being late to these things. Especially when itâs people Iâve never worked with before, although I think I remember Jenna saying sheâs met one of the photographers before but that doesnât calm me down one bit.
âHey man, chill outâ Mason interrupts my internal panic. âThey wonât mind, you can charm them with your good looks yeh?â He suggests. I widen my eyes to show I donât agree. âFine, Iâll apologise in my own way and you do it how you want too.â He sighs, jokingly.
When we finally arrive we are pushed into the changing rooms so fast that I donât get to apologize for our lack of punctuality. I quickly change into my costume before jumping into the makeup chair, next to Mason. Once the artist has finished I text my mum to tell her I made it and left it on the vanity. I headed out to the studio once Mason was done too.
"Look who decided to show up!"
Part Two will be their meeting! Or should I say meet-cute?
Also (shameless plug) I really want to be a photographer so I would mean a lot if you followed/checked out my Instagram:

Behind the scenes pictures of Queen on iconic I Want to Break Free music video gives extraordinary glimpse into closeness of the band
The fascinating pictures show the band fooling around on the video shootÂ
By DAN SALES
Published:Â 03:42 EST, 24 September 2023Â |Â Updated:Â 04:20 EST, 24 September 2023Â (x)
Never-before-seen pictures of Queen making the trailblazing I Want To Break free music video shows the incredible bond between the band members. Candid images - all shot by veteran photographer Simon Fowler - show the sheer joy and fun of the group during the now-legendary filming of the promo. The video stunned music fans when it came out and had the rockers dressed up as housewives in a suburban home. In one of the newly-revealed pictures the band are shown in hysterics, with one crewmember wiping away tears of laughter as Freddie Mercury fools around behind a bewigged John Deacon. Freddie appears to be pretending to be a hairdresser as John chuckles in his seat, as Brian May beams by a back wall as they stare into the mirror at their new look. Later Brian can be seen clutching his curlers as he gazes into the distance as he is captured on film. Roger Taylor also looks to be having a ball in one of the archive pictures, pouting in his schoolgirl-style costume. Photographer Simon, who took pictures of the group throughout their career, opened up his archives to allow MailOnline to publish some of the incredible shots.
The band are seen having a great laugh backstage as they get ready to shoot the video promo
Roger Taylor in costume pouts as his picture is taken on the set of I Want To Break Free in 1984
He said he had no idea the theme of the video before he had turned up at Limehouse Studios in London to take the pictures. Simon recalled: 'On Break Free I didn't get any idea of what it was going to be. I turned up and saw them and thought "Whoa, what is going on?". 'It was obviously a pastiche of Coronation Street. I remember on the day everybody was just fooling around laughing. 'It was so much fun that I was amazed that they actually got a video done. 'They had no concerns about doing anything that was unusual - they would just do it. 'They were just messing around in between the filming. I remember one funny moment when they were trying the stuff on and asking each other "what do you reckon of this wig?". 'That was the great thing about it, you have got Freddie with his big old 'tache, giving it all. 'It was without doubt the most fun shoot I have done. 'Every time I think about it I smile, the day just went so fast because everyone was having such a good time - it just whizzed by.
Simon revealed that the band preferred to be photographed all together for their promo shots
Brian May looks like he has awoken from a deep sleep with the curlers in this of Simon's shots
'When you get there I didn't know the story and the PR told me and I thought "that sounds great". 'I went backstage and the first thing I saw was them getting all their clobber done.' Simon had photographed the band before after getting a phone call during the recording of their Hot Space album. That record spawned the Under Pressure anthem and at first the photographer admits he had no idea who he would be going to shoot. He recalled:Â 'I got a call out of the blue to do a job and originally thought they had said Cream at the time, which I thought couldn't have been right. 'Back in those days you would get millions of calls. I only realised later it was Queen and I was told I would only get ten minutes with them and it turned into three hours. It was for the album Hot Space. 'I think we just got on pretty well - I wasn't expecting much time at all and it was brilliant. 'Roger actually got me to do a bit of tapping when they were recording. I like to think I'm on Hot Space somewhere. It just went from there really.' The band loved his work so he was invited back and ended up doing numerous shoots with them.
John Deacon - whose character in the video was miserable - laughs in a moment of down time
Freddie Mercury poses up on the set, leaning on a cabinet as he looks to the side of the room
But he counts his work on I Want to Break Free as one of the most exciting jobs of his career. He admitted: 'I knew when I got called in for it, that it was going to be interesting. 'They wouldn't scrimp on stuff with the videos, they were big productions. If CGI was around then I am sure that would be what they were doing. 'When you were on set you would have to have eyes in the back of your head in some of the bigger productions, where there were cranes and stuff going round. 'When we went for lunch Brian was on the catering bus talking to me. He was still in the outfit with the curlers. 'I remember thinking "that's Brian May opposite me". It was so surreal. 'At the end of the day we saw the cut and it just looked great. 'I remember John taking a nap during the day, which he would have needed because the reality is they would have got there very early. 'They were trailblazers with videos, they really were. Queen were so unique in whatever they did. Brian with the sound and the guitar. I loved every minute of itÂ
Veteran music photographer Simon Fowler is selling prints in aid of the Mercury Phoenix Trust
'Freddie was a trooper right up until the end. One of the things people don't notice about pictures of Queen is that you could never often get them out of the line-up 'They would not often move out of all four of them together for pictures. 'I think that's because they were a band but they were also incredible close friends too. 'They all had each others backs, none of them thought of themselves as the star - they were all equals.' The behind-the-scenes pictures were brought back into the spotlight as Simon as he compiled Fine Art Prints of Freddie, Brian, Roger and John from The Miracle shoot. They are being sold to help the fight against HIV and AIDS, with 50 per cent of proceeds going to the Mercury Phoenix Trust. Simon added: 'I was thrilled to do this and just give something back and help a really great cause. 'I was delighted by the response and hope it can keep helping people.' (x)

I am not understanding anything to be honest
What is this new thing with hybe and using taehyung dating rumours
Is it about taennie?
Can you explain?
so someone at hybe submitted to the national assembly as part of evidence for their audit an 18,000 paged document that was basically the equivalent of hybeâs burn book. it mentions various idols of various groups, and although hybe insists itâs a collection of online opinions for their market research, theyâve included their own âanalysisâ thatâs beyond unprofessional. the writer of this document is both the editor of weverse magazine, and the author of btsâ book.
of the selected pages that have been released to the public, journalists selected a few paragraphs without context, and reported on them. this caused confusion as there were missing details and censored words left fans guessing what filled the blanks. later on the full released pages were found, with a little better context, but still censorings of artist/groups: https://x.com/dgf1698863/status/1850887438417465386?s=46
now, everyone knows taennie isnât new, (itâs quite old actually) and every tae fan has long had their suspicions tae has been used in ways to monitor fan response before. what is mentioned about this rumor, is the writerâs own analysis. he mirrors hybeâs own framing of narratives.
now people have multiple interpretations, but all of them conclude hybe didnât respond to taeâs rumors in a way that protected him. we know this already. but to see a staff of hybe write it down in an official document was enough for fans to get angry because it brought up unpleasant memories. whether or not you want to bring the pr aspect into it is honestly irrelevant to me. thereâs heaps of evidence to show theyâre more than okay with throwing him under the bus and letting lies and hate fester.
personally iâve noticed that jk seems to be mentioned in the same paragraph to tae in this document in unnecessary ways that pit them against each other, more than once. this writer also goes on in another paragraph to make up nonsense about one of taeâs album promo content, and it honestly reads to me like typical pjm rhetoric.
but knowing these hateful, delusional opinions are being circulated around the company on a weekly basis? makes sense why their staff is online badmouthing them freely.

idk how to feel abt the promo now being completely focused on haladriel ngl. like ⊠on one hand it clearly means something has shifted and theyâre aware of what attracts attention, which bodes well for haladriel in future szns. but at the same time im kinda annoyed that this promo tactic only happened after s2 because a) i think they should be promoting s2 as a whole b) the push for haladriel shouldâve happened way before the finale/ep 8. theyâre reusing the fight scene every day and itâs like yeah you realised they bring in the views but you have only 1 clip to sustain over 2 years.
the captions like âindistinguishable from evilâ are also funny because none of that translates with the crappy dialogue we actually got. itâs like they did a whole 180 because pre finale promo was vv different. i think they should stop taking advice from âfocus groupsâ or reddit bros. ofc feedback is good but sometimes i feel like theyâre always leaning on outside opinions to carry the next szn rather than the writers knowing exactly how they want things to play out & standing by it. itâs very wishy washy sometimes
I'm not even sure that it bodes well for season 3, anon. Not in the sense that most shippers want, anyway.
I think we can be rather hopeful regarding Haladriel's screentime (they'll share more than one scene), but that's probably the best we can hope for. It is a relationship that will be only antagonist. I don't think we should expect any grand romantic gesture, any kiss or any admission of romantic feelings.
Season 2 was the moment when it could still happen, because Galadriel was still conflicted about her feelings for Saurbrand. Well as we saw, she easily tossed her inner conflict through the window during the fight, turned into mega girl boss and never took the bait, even after Sauron stabbed her with Morgoth's crown to bind her to him. This ship has very likely sailed now. Whatever temptation that Galadriel has in the future... It will probably be related to her desire for power, which should keep growing as darkness grows in her as well. Sauron will definitely have a part in that as he's not going to let her go, but.... I think we shouldn't hope too much for romantic innuendos, not from her side, anyway.
So yeah, I think Amazon's desperate to keep shippers invested because they realize far too late that we represent an important part of their viewership and that's why they keep licking Haladriel boots. I've seen it happen before, with Reylo before TROS : after mocking or ignoring the shippers for years, suddenly their entire marketing was centered on Rey and Kylo. The only difference is that they never acknowledged any romantic feelings between them, which in retrospect wasn't surprising since romance there was none in TROS, except for that kiss which was less romantic than Elrondriel's so called platonic smooch đ The SW marketing team baited Reylo for more than a year and for what ?
All that to say, I'd really advise you to not trust Amazon's marketing strategy. It's all about engagement. They want to attract new shippers and get them to watch TROP so their numbers increase, while trying to get old shippers invested for season 3. Right now they play the romance card but we shouldn't take it as an insurance that romance or something close to romance is in the cards for future Haladriel interactions, imho.

Rewatched 'Crushed Out' (Ep 6B) and just wanted to talk about how it plays into my headcannons!
SOOOOO this is the episode where Dylan falls in love with Portia. It plays some impact in how I view Portia's character, but I also see it as a good look at Dante to (H'es my favourite character, can you tell?).
Dante is shown to be almost gleeful at helping Dylan be 'more goth.' by making him destroy the things he loves.
However I always found this a bit... odd. Dante seems like a good kid, who knows when things go too far regarding his siblings feelings, at least when he's mentally well (Read not 'Dante's Inferno' ep.) Yet he's causing Dylan so much emotional pain here. However the more I thought about, the more I realized that's not really what Dante's happy about. I'm willing to bet that whenever Dante hangs out with his family or even just Dylan and Dante 1 on 1, they usually do what anyone BUT Dante wants to do. Not because they don't care about him but because his interests aren't as universal as other activities. This is Dylan doing stuff Dante is into. Nihilism. Goth culture. Dante is happy Dylan is doing what Dante wants to do!
Another reason I think this is true is because what happens when Dylan finally breaks? What happens when Dylan doesn't care anymore (Or is better acting like it)?
Dante doesn't look happy about it.
I mean, he's not worried either, but he's not excited or even just smiling a little, or looking smug/pleased. He's just... this. He doesn't even change expression until the next scene. What I think is going on with Dante is that he's... mildly concerned. Maybe wondering if this is actually good for Dylan or what Dylan really wants. However I think he chooses to listen to what Dylan and Fergus are saying over what he's seeing. The last time we see Dante this episode is when Dylan shows up to dinner. Its hard to make out his expression but maybe he is just silently supporting Dylan's new look.
WHICH launches me into my next talking point. Character ages.
Its often stated in promo material and the show bible that Dylan and Dolly are 'tweens.' AKA 11-13. I never really believed that. They're in charge of how many kids? Day and night? Along with taking them out to places? Plus with the amount of dating Dylan and Dolly do, I always found it a bit odd for that age range. I do have some theories for this though. That age group may have been used just for pitching. Animation companies hate using protagonists over 14 for their main characters. (Glances at Amphibia and the Owl House respectively. Then Glares at Infinity Train.) So they just say their characters are this age and have them act older. Or this detail was left on the cutting room floor along with other stuff. I actually see Dylan and Dolly closer to young adult. 17 or a little older? Still irresponsible in places but responsible in others.
Why do I bring this up here? Well because after the dinner scene, Fergus and Dylan go to the Cat's Canal gig. You know, the goth rock event.
So the big question here is... WHY DIDN'T DANTE GO?! Its just Fergus and Dylan that went! Despite this being Dante's thing!
One theory could be that Dylan didn't want to watch him AND try to catch Portia's attention. However I think its more that Dante isn't actually old enough for and event like this. I head cannon Dante at 14 in the show. Gigs like this can have drinking, drugs and other things that Disney won't show you XD. Dylan, around 17 or 18, would be able to go and likely have safe judgment. Dante would not.
COURSE this is all just headcannons of me looking too closely at a children's cartoon! What do you guys think about this? Love to hear your ideas!

Now I'm curious how you got into due south originally, if you feel like explaining :)
Sure! It's nothing too exciting I guess, but my Dueser origins begin as a wee girl. I know my family must have vaguely watched it because I remember the image of All The Queen's Horses mountie chase pre-dates my series watch beginnings. I know my grandma later confessed as I had it on tv one summer that she watched it. Cause cute Benton Fraser lol.
But real seeing and watch began with a random catch of Free Willie one morning on the Showcase Network. Thank you kindly Showcase.
Yeah, I caught it one morning and stayed to watch because I think I vaguely recognized it, and just fell in love with it's charm and wit and Fraser and Ray. It was the first episode so great timing too. And they had it schedule set to air one episode in the morning, the same at night, five days a week. Perfect for catching up.
Promos were hilarious too. I should see if any are online.
Oh, and it was original edit, so it had extra scenes like the different Victoria's Secret ones.
So I caught up on the series quick. Also, what I think really cemented my season 1 and 2 love was they played that set for months at least before switching to the 3/4 season. That highlighted the difference in tone to my POV too I think, and it's why I kinda view them apart still.
But I really got to experience show first this way.
I think I found fandom when starting Livejournal same time the show hit resurgence there. And I happily caught the tail end of Yahoo Groups so got to back read fan stuff there. Missed most of Ray Wars. Yay. There was the 2000's snippets, but everyone was so fun at content creation and love, that was the best take-aways. It made for a great time. I participated in a watch-along! A big highlight of fannishness for me! That's when I saw The Pilot. Or my fav was squeeing about Pizza and Promises.
Just, some of the many wonderful fans like Nina_DS and movies_michelle and duenorthlaurie for episode discussion, and Sdwolfpup, Belmanoir, Aingeal8C as content creators, or Scotchsour, and Lozenger8 who made some banging icons....Truly, there were so many wonderful people, I couldn't even name them all. Due South provided so many wonderful glimpses of other fans to share with. LJ friends were so lovely.
I fell out in LJ world strangely cause I felt kinda outside the fandom wave as it crested I think, not shipping F/K or really loving those seasons as much. And just personally felt not into fannishness as whole after awhile. It's a me thing across everything, not just Due South. I took an internet break for a long time. I still watched the series on tv, with Showcase and TV Tropolis and DejaView lol, and by then DVD often. Along with new TV of course, although not much cause Tumblr me is not too different from old LJ me. Still kept an eye of forums, sometimes, or such, cause I love discussion as you can see by my screeds versus tech/creative skills, but not actively or with comment.
I return cause, I don't know, seeing people express love for the series again is hitting a happy place of nostaglia I think. I had a rough bout with real-life and comfort fannish stuff is reminding life was full of small good moments. The joy of the endearing nature of the show and the spirit of love for it in the fandom is proof of stuff enduring. Joy that it's still on rebranded Showcase here on the weekends lol, even if you never know which season.
And a new vidder made a wonderful F/V fanvid that, timing again as I hit Tumblr, I stumbled into, and just had me crying when I watched at the beauty and love I remembered in the pair. It spoke to my love of them so hard I think it jolted me into thinking hell yea that love deserves happy expression, I can do it too maybe. Sadly they took it down, but yeah, that was the spark, and that's me fannish story.

but hey on the brightside now qstudios are free to tell allllll the fun stories and events that THEY want to now that those pesky outspoken admins are gone and nearly all of the lore cc's have been driven away or forced into prematurely ending the plotlines that they worked so hard on getting in the way- especially those darned French- now the remaining players can patiently sit on the side out of the way and react/watch the stories that the studio wants to tell! Can't wait for nondescript seasonal event 2- with builds made in two days by unknown people who may or may be getting paid that 5 cc's will show-up to!
but hey it's not like all the old memories are gonna go to waste since the studio has made it very clear they're all for using the genuine love the admins and cc's put into this server to pedel their merch promos <3 can't wait for more SILLY fed worker streams hahahahhahahahahahhhhhhh... how did it get this bad ad- is this all too mean of me to say?
I think itâs pretty obvious that any new ccs potentially being added are being added to replace the ccs who left, and a majority of the ccs leaving or inactive are ccs who stopped playing out of sympathy for the admins like Bagi or Most Of The French.
It all just leaves a sour taste in my mouth, especially when you consider the fact that the only eggs that never got to say goodbye were either fired or let go or ghosted entirely because they publicly or privately supported the og fired admins: Pomme/Lumi and Lea. (And Chunsik, but the poor guy never stood a chance.)
And now with Cherry on stream the other day almost crying while talking about how disrespected she was by the new admin team, how in the world are we supposed to be okay with this? With a mystery shadow group controlling things with absolutely Zero transparency and doing the worldâs worst marketing for their merchandise?

Hi Gina, thinking about the confirmation of the muse for HS4, do you think Harry will go with Howard Stern again for the promo of the new album? I guess he goes with him because the audience of him, but Howard always wants that Harry talks about his relationships, besides asking inappropiate questions or comments.
I think Iâm the only person in this fandom who isnât bothered by Howardâs shtick. Iâm just old and I remember what he was like in the 90s and this is SO far from how disgusting his show used to be that his behavior now doesnât shock or upset me at all.
I think Harry handles himself really well there, Howard at least allows Harry to ramble and share his thoughts, and he does ask some interesting questions (when heâs not talking about how many girls Harry must be sleeping with). And, his listener demographic is heavily skewed to men and Harryâs team is always trying to court that group.
