Why didn't Stephen Fry get to guest star on House?

I would've really liked a Wilson POV episode where House's college roommate visits and needs treatment from him and he's like a proto-Wilson and House treats him with disdain the whole time and Wilson can't figure it out but it terrifies him. If House stopped liking Fry, maybe he'll stop liking him too

There's dialogue that Fry and House used to prank each other, like Wilson and House do now. There's also jokes that you can't tell if they're truthful or not about how people thought Fry and House were gay for each other, and more jokes about how Fry beat up House

Meanwhile Wilson and Fry are getting along gr9, partly because Wilson gets along with everyone but partly he's ramping it up to try to bother House, who seems unfazed

And part one of the reveal is Fry joined a frat, so Wilson thinks "oh yeah, wanting to be liked by people who aren't House is a mortal sin to House"

And part two of the reveal is Fry participated in a gay bashing as part of the hazing to get in the frat

Then Wilson has a genuine moment of Is House Gay? And Cuddy is like "well you're the longest and most meaningful relationship he's ever had" and someone on the team says " the women he's been with are exactly like him, which just proves he's an egomaniac but not necessarily heterosexual" and 13 says "bi people exist" (i mean, remember what show we're talking about)

Fry gets cured so the medical part is over so finally Wilson confronts House in House's office, "how come you hate him but like me? We're exactly alike!"

And House says "you want people to like you so much that you became a doctor, you decided to literally save people's lives to ensure people would always like you. Fry wanted people to like him so much that he beat up a poor kid for no other reason" then he stands up and walks to the door while Wilson stands there, not moving. Right before House exits, he pauses and says " oh and I've been having a hard time figuring out how to tell you this" his voice wavers "you're my best friend so you should know" pause and audible swallow "I'm not gay" he leaves. Wilson smiles that smile he always has when he realizes House was pranking him
