I will probably have to end up reorganizing the muse list a lil-
have a section for Felix's verses and then the rest of the muses. honestly I never intended or predicted that he'd have more verses than partners, but I get into games pretty damn quickly when my ADHD runs healthy and freely.
a bunch kinda popped up at once, with no other muses in the franchise to keep up.

for the ask meme: Reeve
For the Opinion Meme || Still accepting!
Tumblr media
Sexuality Headcanon: Bisexual, but functionally gay. Because I write Reeve as being Cetra (I feel the need to link this every time I mention it because it's such a wild-ass take that any time I don't, I have confused people messaging me), he's basically extremely paranoid about sexual situations that could end in children. Especially since his mother is always trying to set him up on dates (and he's half-wondering if she's trying to arrange for him to produce more little part-Cetran babies) and the President is always setting him up on blind dates (I have a whole headcanon about this, but basically, Reeve's concerned that President knows).
So with him being so paranoid about it, he just... doesn't have sex with women. Ever. It's much safer that way.
Gender Headcanon: Cis man. Although, that said, I used to RP as girl!Reeve, and that was fun as hell.
A ship I have with said character: HAHAHAHAHA. All of them.
No, but seriously, there's very few people I haven't written/read/shipped Reeve with.
Reeve/Tseng? Delicious.
Reeve/Lazard? Omg, yes, please.
Reeve/Genesis? Don't mind if I do (ship of my soul, currently).
Reeve/Reno? Talk about fucking up my heart okay.
Reeve/Rude? They're wonderful together.
Reeve/Sephiroth? Yep. I could do that.
Reeve/Veld? I can get behind that.
Reeve/Vincent? Mm. So wonderful.
Reeve/Barret? I expect some angst in there, but that's delicious too.
Like, not all of these work with all of my HCs, but I am happy to jettison/rework HCs to make things happen.
A BROTP I have with said character: No matter what I'm doing, if Reeve and Tseng aren't an active couple, then they're best friends. I just. I love the two of them together, especially with all the potential angst between them with their secrets and everything. It's just wonderful.
A NOTP I have with said character: I think the closest thing I really have to a NOTP is probably Reeve/Hojo, but that's a holdover from an old RP partner who uh... we did some pretty dark stuff with that. Like, I can see it, but man, it is fucked up. Especially with my Reeve in particular.
A random headcanon: Hm... I've already talked about Reeve being a Cetra and Reeve being an Inspire... Here, since I went light on the ship descriptions this time, have a small handful of random headcanons instead:
I would say my biggest "obscure" headcanon is that Reeve lives in a 3,000 sq foot custom-built penthouse in Upper Eight.  And yes, I have a floorplan.  One day, I'll do some drawings of the rooms.
Reeve’s blood type is type O negative.
Reeve requires every single Urban Dev employee to wear a carbon bangle with Restore, Ice, and Lightning materia equipped.  They’re also required to annually attend a training known as “Materia Camp,” to ensure they’re comfortable with the basic use.  This is because Urban Dev employees are, statistically speaking, the most likely to be first-on-the-scene of any sort of emergency situation.
Reeve has three small tattoos along his spine.  They’re three Wutaian characters in a straight line, each character a few inches from the previous one, and from top to bottom, they read: Courage, Inspiration, and Resilience.  They’re the same characters his father wrote in the front of each of his sketchbooks.
General Opinion over said character: My babygirl. Look. Reeve is my angel and ... yeah, I'd say he is probably my favorite character in the game.
BONUS! A song I associate with the character:
Where am I today? I wish that I knew 'Cause looking around there's no sign of you I don't remember one jump or one leap Just quiet steps away from you lead I'm holding my heart out but clutching it, too Feeling this sort of a love that we once knew Calling this a home when it's not even close I'm playing the role with nerves left exposed

i saw that you said it’s canon that Anakin has a fat kink and i need to know where it says this cause as someone who’s fat it makes my brain go brrrrr in all the right ways and lowkey is a bit of a confidence booster…
ooh i think i remember tagging it about padmé, too!
unfortunately, i was sticking my tongue in my cheek when i did... however, that doesn't mean i think my supposition is necessarily baseless.
anakin is raised a slave on a planet where security and dominance mean being able to feed yourself, and feed yourself well. his general disdain for the hutts notwithstanding (they aren't even humanoid), it isn't really difficult to imagine anakin viewing fat bodies as attractive or aspirational.
it's a little kernel of an idea that i think it would be fun and realistic to play with. fwiw, i don't think anakin is so innately attracted to padmé because she's 'conventionally pretty', whatever that means... 'conventionally pretty' in star wars being heavily subjective/influenced by culture. it's easy to forget that anakin isn't necessarily seeing his world through our eyes; i actually think she stands out to him because she's so very unlike anything he's ever seen before: a well-hydrated, adequately-fed, smooth-skinned young humanoid woman wearing clean clothes and not toting something heavy on her shoulders would be a pretty rare sight in mos espa, all things considered. if he's ever seen anyone remotely like her before, they were (like it or not) probably dancing in a chain bikini for some rich asshole.
another thing i think is that part of his continued infatuation with her has to do with the perceived extravagance of her lifestyle, and the power and respect it affords her. part of him might resent those things, sure, but sometimes i believe even more of him craves/idolizes them... and, coming from a place where food is such an important part of the social hierarchy, i don't think it's too much of a reach to consider that he might (even if subconsciously) come to the conclusion that big = desirable... either on himself, or on a partner.
for as dysfunctional as i think they'd be in practice, i love imagining anakin and padmé into the future: being comfortable; being happy; maybe even having more kids. i think anakin would be fascinated by the kinds of changes a person's body undergoes while they give birth/recover from pregnancy/breastfeed. (*something that makes their relationship feel a little extra tragic to me is the thought of their closeness & affection actually having the potential to be bolstered by padmé's postpartum period: she would be vulnerable in a way she's not used to; he would be able to take on a caregiver role without feeling as though he's being pandered to.)
i don't think it's unreasonable to presume that anakin would be attracted to people he perceives as independent or exotic or successful; fat, to him, could easily represent any/all of these things. i think he'd be proud to show off a bigger-than-average partner, if he had one; at the same time, i also think he'd be awfully pleased to be with someone capable of keeping him well-fed... because where he comes from, that's not exactly a bad thing.
definitely not disregarding the notion that he'd have trouble adjusting to the privilege, but i think he has trouble adjusting to privilege when he starts to grow into his role as a jedi & when he starts to claim his power and authority as vader, too. for a romantic partner especially, it's a process i think he might even take pleasure in.
so yeah... not legitimately canon, no, but close enough as far as i'm concerned. (also his love is unconditional... but that's another post for another time lol.)
and if anyone reading this ever gets hired by diznee to write an official novel... well, maybe they'll be nice and allude to it for me. :'))

Oh yeah, that's completely understandable- I can imagine the prospect of "extra lore" that doesn't have relevance to the main plot can be quite annoying if you don't care enough about it-
Okay that's....A bit unserviceable in my opinion, I don't see how it comes across as something "with no research into it"...And keep in mind this is a fictional Mario game- And I honestly don't really see the game being offensive or harmful in any way, at least in the narrative aspect- But it's a fair take- Is there anything specific that made you think the writing was "stock" and daresay cringe? It's....Simple, yes, but also quite concise in my eyes- Or was it the fact they used quite a typical stereotype of star-crossed lovers? Just to be clear, this isn't me trying to force any different opinions in any way, I'm genuinely just very curious to hear an opposing side of the spectrum, it's not something I get the opportunity to ask about a lot-
The..."Dark equals Evil" never stuck out at all as the symbolism I was referring to...It's actually quite an unsupported takeaway in my eyes- I'd actually like to enquire where that idea came from, if you'd be willing to elaborate- To me, it's more the aspects of "Love" and "Sacrifice" which I feel could be elaborated on to essay length, (Which it has been a few times now, an excellent essay I've seen would be "How to love when you're going to die" on YouTube) using methods of juxtaposition, insight to characterisation and thematic ties, but as said, if you're not really willing to hear it then fair enough, no matter what anyone says, it'll probably just come across as surface level to you. :)
Well, one way that I could potentially agree with your viewpoint would be through the idea that the Count has been lying to his minions the whole time, and the fact they aren't aware they aren't getting the happy ending they were promised, so it's unjustified they'd support the Count for a happy ending, especially as in this case, the minions certainly look more like they joined Bleck not to support his cause, but to get perfect worlds, which stains the mood potentially....But on the other hand, there is quite a lot of implication that the count and the minions do actively care about each other beyond the motive of a perfect existence. Yes...Some of this nature is found in the extra lore dump, but I do feel some of it IS implicit in the cutscenes themselves, but I've gone on a tangent enough- Yes, I don't particularly like the fact the Count never actually admits he lied to the minions, but in hindsight, I don't really think it would have changed all that much. The minions probably already figured Bleck was lying by this point in any case-
And with Bleck, his "paradise" from an objective point of view, I certainly agree is unwarranted from the scope of his actions, but thematically, I certainly do think it does work- I'd be more than happy to elaborate on my own perspectives if you wanted me to, but I'm afraid I'm already coming across as hostile with such an elongated response when in reality, I'm really just curious to talk about an opposing perspective!-
Though if there is one thing I'm not even going to argue about: This game is weird. Surface level perspective or the deep waters perspective, yeah this game doesn't feel like a Nintendo one- To me, it's what makes the game special, to another, it might be a reason to burn it alive.
Well...if this game didn't do it for you, I'm pretty sure there are some other games that did! As I said, the partners for me in TTYD never spoke to me and felt more plain than anything to me, even with discussion and attempt to see other discussions, I never brought myself to care about them, while all I hear is unanimous appraisal for them most of the time-
Anyway, I hope you have a good day! :)
Am I the only one who thinks the Super Paper Mario story wasn’t that deep?
Also felt Blumiere got off too easy for mass attempted murder suicide
Did not empathize with Natasha’s crush at all there…
I enjoyed the game, loved the afterlife chapters, but a lot of execution. fell flat for me.
