Hello! It's always nice to see new people! I hope you like it here. Imo tumblr is the best site for fandom stuff just due to its structure, you should be able to easily find very old art, fanfic, discussions etc archived in different blogs as you go in 4am rabbit holes looking for old art of some obscure AU from 2021. The general "socially acceptable tumblr behavior", at least in the Amphibia fandom, seems to be very simple like... just be nice and non-judgmental. There are no ship wars here either, we all love our toxic and problematic polycule. People here can sometimes be kinda edgy too so don't be surprised to find some random marcy gore or whump here and there. Then the general tumblr rules of any fandom like... blacklist the content/ships/etc you don't wanna see instead of harrassing the people enjoying them (you can blacklist tags and keywords in the settings tab), so for example, you may not like seeing whump, which is common in the Amphibia fandom, so you can blacklist "whump" and tags associated with it such as "gore" "blood" or "marcy harm". Of course don't repost art (repost =/= reblog, reblogging art directly links back to the artist and it's how people get noticed here, since tumblr basically has no algorythm and you mostly just see what the people you follow post and reblog. Reposting means saving a picture on your phone and posting it to your blog. I clarify because a lot of people get it wrong). The people you reblog from can see the commentary and tags you add to a post so be mindful of that.
One more thing, reblogging is the site's lifeblood, especially when it comes to fanart, because without a proper algorythm, likes do nothing to share it with other people, so if you see something you like, reblog it! So more people can see it.
As for finding Amphibia stuff, checking out the Amphibia tag and tags related to it (i.e "sashannarcy", "Anne Boonchuy", "Marcy harm" and my favorites, "amphibia meta", "amphibia worldbuilding", "amphibia lore" etc) would be a good place to start! Then just start following people, make posts of your own etc etc. There are some blogs that almost function like an archive, the first one that comes to mind being @3-stones-deity! I reblog a lot of old art as well. Blogs here are all organized with tags so just check out the different tags blogs use to find stuff. For example, I save some of my favorite character and worldbuilding analyses in my tag "required reading for fanfic writing".
And if you wanna "jokingly threaten" someone... idk I suggest using tone markers like /jk (just kidding) /s (sarcasm) /hj (half-joking) etc. Idk about most people but personally I wouldn't be comfortable talking like that with someone I don't know and that seems to be a common sentiment here but I guess it depends on the person.
It's nice to have you! Have fun!
hey so i’m new to tumblr so uh..
i’m joining because america’s banning tiktok and i’ll lose basically all my amphibia content, and i’m like DEATHLY obsessed so i would like some help if you guys don’t mind 😭😭
i have no idea how this place works, so if you guys don’t mind helping me figure it out, it’d be really helpful :1
i have some questions:
what kinds of manners should i use?
is it socially acceptable for me to say some random it of pocket stuff or will i be threatened?
are there any social rules here i should know?
and how do i find as much amphibia stuff as humanely possible
am i allowed to jokingly threaten people, and if so, how do i do it? with meaning tags, or no?
thanj you and goodbye
#this fandom is suuuuuper chill i've never seen people fighting#i say this as someone who joined like five months ago tho so 😭 who knows. i heard sashanne antis were very annoying back in the day#everyone and their mother ships sashanne now tho#so ''rules'' uhhh 1) be nice 2) don't repost art 3) we don't do ship wars here 4) use the blacklist function liberally#so just general tumblr etiquette#pro tip: if you're looking for even more obscure content than usual#use more obscure tags#i.e ''night!marcy'' or ''froggy marcy''#actually just read the froggy marcy webcomic if you haven't it's sooooo good
