Praisin’ Asian Fashion ‘19
A little more than a month ago, I posted a picture of one of Guo Pei’s runway looks here and while it did not become viral per se, it spread surprisingly quickly around in this small community. At first, I thought that it simply looked like a crazy, avant garde look. Yet, I puzzled more over it. What if the reason is because this aesthetic and style just is not seen very often in the fashion community? Personally, while beautiful and breathtaking, opulent fashion filled with embroidered motifs featuring mythical creatures, such as Guo Pei’s, was not entirely foreign to me, a bonafide Chinese™. It occured to me that the lack of exposure to Asian influences and culture was a possible reason for such reactions by the fashion community. Of course, this may not be true, but here I am anyway, creating a little event on this fashion blog, called Praisin’ Asian Fashion (if this is not already apparent).
Throughout the month of February, I’ll be posting works/looks by Asian brands/designers for each day of this month, as well as an article about the brand/designer that would maybe help introduce some understand/know more about these brands and designers. Of course, defining what is Asia can be pretty difficult and controversial. To clear things up, I’ll be including designers or brands from countries that lie on the border of Eastern Europe and Asia, such as Georgia and Russia. I will also be shining some light on countries in the Middle East, as well as Southeast Asian countries, not simply East Asian fashion.
Hopefully, this will be an interesting, entertaining and educational experience for you guys! Enjoy :)

End of Praisin’ Asian Fashion ‘19
And with that last post about Ashi Studio, I conclude Praisin’ Asian Fashion ‘19.
It’s been 28 days of research, education and fun doing this little series. It ended with minimal problems (nothing went wrong on 23rd feb ok :>) The readings and Google searches I made have kept me hooked for the longest time, and I hope whoever looked through these posts have found a new designer that interests them, like I did.
Thank you, hehe, and hope this comes back next year ;)
