I was always curious about one thing. Zerrie was fake, Zigi still is, but what about Rebecca and Geneva? Were they beards/pr too?

i do believe rebecca was probably pr...maybe i'm wrong and they genuinely did have some connection b/t them but imo it made absolutely no sense for a mid 20-something year old woman with kids to be dating a (barely legal) teenager, and txf def seems to have a history where they loved to use hamfisted "relationships" between contestants to promo the show and/or promo their bigger acts - your two series runner-ups (or 'rejects' as the dailymail so lovingly refers to them lol) dating makes for great headlines. and ofc it came right at the end of the txf live tour when they would've had not much else to help generate promo for the show/franchise, and which would've kept ppl's interest up just in time for the start of the upcoming season (which began airing less than a month after the break-up announcement).

then there's the fact that they were first spotted together coming out of a nightclub which just screams pr. if it wasn't about headlines they could've very easily used a back door or side entrance rather than the front door or somewhere where paps would obviously be waiting. they also could've gone to a club somewhere much more lowkey where they wouldn't be so easily spotted or papped (i'm sure there's plenty around london). on top of that the only pictures i've seen of them together don't even look very romantic at all tbh - in most of the ones from the nightclub for instance zayn is standing like 2-3 feet away from her, and in the ones where he's actually making physical contact with her his arm is either stretched out to her to from a bunch of feet away or just looks like he's awkwardly guiding/pushing her like someone just reminded him he's supposed to be touching her and he didn't know what to do lol. there's even some pics of them in a car afterwards and there's a second girl sitting between them in the car (who also got caught in a couple of the pics coming out of the club)...not very romantic to bring along a third wheel to your date night and let that third wheel sit between you after your date lol

the only other pics of them i could find are just moments where they happen to be sitting or standing next to/nearby each other not really interacting (in one of them zayn is walking like 4 feet apart from her with his head down and his eyes glued to his phone screen - if that doesn't scream we're madly in love idk what does lmao)

(also, this is a little separate from z & rebecca's specific situation since that happened after the show & live tour was mostly over, but in general for a show like txf to even allow open dating b/t contestants is kinda weird and sus when you think about it cause normally on reality shows like those it's built into the contract to specifically bar contestants from publicly dating so as to avoid dealing with any complications that might cause issues for the show, like if someone got pregnant/or assaulted/got a serious std/whatever and had to leave the show/tour before it was over)

(to your second point, can't speak to geneva for sure as there's not much out there of them together and they don't appear to really ever have been used for any sort of promo i don't believe, but that coupled with zayn's behavior/body language around her in the little bit of public footage there is available of them, makes me lean toward them potentially being genuine. he at least seemed more genuinely comfortable around her than i've ever seen him with any of the beards lol, so even if they didn't have a full-on relationship i could definitely believe they at least hooked-up or something along those lines)

When Peter heard that you'd been nervous about showing him your video, he freaked.

He thought he'd done something wrong. That maybe he gave off weird vibes or that he'd said something before that made you think he wouldn't have liked it. Which definitely wasn't true. He liked everything you did.

Well, except that one time you got bangs. He didn't really like the bangs.

Anyway, Peter felt like he needed to show you that he was okay with it all. That he was down with anything you wanted to do or show him.

He looked in the mirror early that morning and decided.

Peter wanted to show what he had to offer.

He looked down at your TikTok "body" video on his phone. He could do something like that, right? He was completely clueless, but he could at least try his best.

He pulled out his phone and texted the one guy he knew could help him out.

Now, on your end, school was kicking your ass.

You weren't failing, but the amount of make-up work you had was so far through the roof that you might as well be. And the teachers were hellbent on making it the hardest they could.

To put it short, you needed a break.

And the second MJ heard your tired, irritated voice over the phone, she was on her way over with chips, dip, popcorn, and movies. If there was anything to calm you down, it'd be a nice movie.

MJ had gone to your kitchen to make the popcorn and you were laying on your bed finishing up some homework, when you got a phone call from Harry. "Hello?"

"I didn't know you and Pete were sending nudes."

You paused. "What?"

He carried on in a nonchalant tone. "I mean, I never took you guys as the types to do that, but damn, you two really surprised me. Dude's really over here asking for tips and everything-"

You sat up in your bed, alert and highly confused. "Okay," you said, taking a deep breath" ....what, again, the fuck?" Harry continued to ramble but one sharp scolding tone stopped him. "Harry, shut up."

He paused on the other side of the phone and then suddenly his voice came back, extremely hesitant. "...wait, was I not supposed to say anything? Did I just fuck up?" He sighed. "Oops.."

"No, Harry tell me what the hell you're-" BEEP. You looked down and saw that he hung up.

Just then, MJ opened the door, hands full with freshly popped popcorn. "Okay, ready to get the movie started?" She walked to the bed when she noticed that you were practically frozen in your spot. "Um, [Y/N]?"

You looked up with glossy eyes and she immediately knew that something was wrong. "Dude, what happened?"

You frantically shrugged a bit, and then let out a shrill laugh, half confused and half preparing for the worst. "Peter's- um... apparently... sending nudes to...me....Harry... someone?"

"What?"

Peter had finally made it to Harry's penthouse.

"So, nudes?," Harry chirped, very amused as he opened his door.

"What nudes?," Peter asked as he stepped into the living room. "What are you talking about?"

Harry paused. "Wait, what were you talking about?"

Peter only stared back in confusion, leaving Harry to pick through his own confusion fragments of information. He quizzically looked at him. "But-..the texts?"

"Oh!," Peter laughed, moving to sit on the couch. "No, I wanna make one of those thirst trap TikToks for [Y/N], that's all," he explained with a shrug and a bashful smile. "She made one for me, now I wanna repay the favor."

"Dude!," Harry hissed out. "You should've just said that!"

"Well, how about you just need to stop making assumptions," Peter said with a slight frown, not understanding why his friend was so wound up.

"Well, I had to since you kept being so vague!"

Peter rolled his eyes and started towards the refrigerator, if not to actually get something to drink, getting away from a crazed Harry for two seconds would be enough.

When he sat back down, Harry started to speak again. "So, what did you need me for?"

"Oh," Peter mumbled, shifting in his seat. "Well, you know how to do that sort of... stuff, right?"

"You mean looking like a fuckboy?," Harry snickered. "Yeah I'd say that's well within my reservoir."

Peter gave his typical bashful look. "So... teach me your fuckboy ways?"

Harry grinned. "Peter. You have no idea how long I've been waiting to hear you say that."

You held your phone in your handle, looking at Peter's contact number hesitantly.

"Just text him," MJ said with an eyeroll.

"But what if it's nothing?! I don't wanna be the crazy girlfriend!"

"But what if it's something?," MJ added. "Cuz if you put it off now, and it actually ends up being something, you'll be even more miserable than you would be if you just found out now."

You took a long breath and nodded. "Okay then I'll text him."

"But if it is nothing, you'll look pretty stupid jumping to conclusions like that."

You sighed. "So, no?"

"But then if it's something-" she continued, getting deeper underneath your skin with each word. "-you'll look even more stupid because you could've found out sooner and you didn't."

Finally quieting down from her rambling, MJ noticed you glaring at her. You sighed.

"So...do I or do I not text him?"

"Oh nah, dude. I mean, I wouldn't. After all, I'm not saying that I think it's something," she said with a shrug. "I'm just saying on the off-chance that it is, you'd be in bad shape."

"Okay can we please stop playing devil's advocate with my life?!"

"You know I love watching you squirm [Y/N]." "Anyway, I'm sure Peter's not cheating. The boys were probably just doing something dumb and Harry just explained horribly."

You bit your lip. "You sure?"

She shrugged. "Pretty sure."

"Okay, now lower the camera just a little," Harry instructed. "You gotta show the v-line, but still leave enough for imagination."

Peter dropped his arm and his posture and shot Harry an incredulous glare. "Harry, if you focused this much in school I wouldn't have to tutor you."

Harry rolled his eyes. "Whatever. Just keep going."

This was the third picture taken and though it was out of his element, Peter strangely felt very confident with what he was doing. He never saw himself as ugly, but he certainly never saw himself as hot either. Not like Harry. But looking at himself now, with Harry's corny chain necklaces on and his hair scruffed up in a way he's not used to, he knew one thing for certain.

He looked good.

"Okay," Harry said. "Now the last one, actually needs to be some dumb picture someone took of you in your gallery."

Peter frowned. "Huh? But I'm on a roll here."

"Yeah but the whole point is that all of these pictures weren't supposed to be taken directly beforehand," he pointed out. "Since you're breaking that rule, you gotta throw in a cute dumb one to throw off your scent." He smirked. "Also, you gotta show the ladies and gents that you have a softer, funnier side."

Peter stared for a moment. "..why do you have this down to a science?"

"Says the science geek?," Harry retorted.

Peter spent the night at Harry's and they drove to school early in the morning. He was glad that it was Tuesday because your schedules made it so that you'd both have lunch together every other day.

"You sure she'll like it?," he asked Harry as they walked down the halls before lunch.

Harry rolled his eyes with a laugh. "You know, she asked me the exact same thing for you when she made her video?"

Peter nodded quietly, still feeling a bit down about you feeling bad about showing him that video. "Yeah, I know."

"Jesus," Harry laughed. "You insecure little dweebs are made for each other!"

"I'm gonna take that as a compliment..."

"As you should," Harry said with a shrug, as nonchalant as ever.

The two boys walked into the lunchroom and to the table they knew best. You and MJ were already there.

Peter could tell just by the look on your face that something was wrong. "Hey," he greeted cautiously. "Is everything okay?"

MJ glared at him and he looked to Harry, whose clueless face was not helping.

Finally, you looked up and sighed. "Pete, be honest. Are you cheating on me?"

"What?!"

You examined the utter shock and terror in his face. It didn't look fake. He looked saddened and scared as he began to ramble. "No no! I would never! What even made you think-!"

His eyes caught yours as you looked over towards Harry sittting next to him. Peter turned toward Harry and then looked back to you in confusion. "Wait, you think I cheated on you with HARRY?"

MJ bursts out laughing next you. "Jesus..."

Harry scoffed. "Well don't sound so excited Peter, jeez."

You let out a small chuckle but kept your eyes on Peter. "It's just... Harry called me and...said something about nudes and-"

Peter's face grew even more contorted with bafflement. "Nudes?!"

Harry hit his forehead, finally understanding what was happening. "Ooooooooh, me and my big mouth..."

All eyes turned towards him. "What, Harry?"

He sighed. "This is all just a big mix-up." Harry nudged Peter. "Just show her the thing dude."

"What thing?," MJ asked.

Peter fished through his pockets. "Okay," he mumbled, a bit shaken up by what happened. He took his phone out and handed it to you. "Here."

You looked up and saw Peter looking down at you, waiting for your reaction.

"So, this is what you were doing yesterday?"

He nodded.

You blew out a long breath of relief. "You're not cheating."

"God no, babe, I'd never cheat on you," he cooed, stepping over towards your seat. "I know you were really nervous when you showed me yours, and so... I thought I should repay the favor."

He didn't even have time to breathe before you were on him, wasting no time in bringing your lips to his. He kissed you back, mildly aware of the people in the lunchroom around the two of you, but he still didn't care.

Peter pulled away with a smitten smile until he noticed blood on his lip. He wiped it away with his hand and frowned when he realized it was not his own.

You almost asked what was wrong when you noticed him looking at you strangely, but MJ beat you to the punch.

"Dude, you have a bloody nose!"

You gasped, picking up a napkin from the table.

Harry laughed. "Did you really just get a horny nosebleed?"

"Horny nosebleed?," MJ snickered.

"That's not a thing," you scoffed. "...is it?"

"It actually is," Peter corrected, blushing profusely and rubbing his neck. "Just glad to know you thought the video was hot."

Dear mister, you said you wanted asks about your au and I'm just so intrigued by trans!Arthur getting taken in by old Queens Dutch and Hosea and so I just wondered whether you had any more headcanons about that and those two ;;;

Lol k so I’m wasting time instead of going to bed like I should but… ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I dug thru my old asks and this is one I never got around to answering at the time, but it’s TIME NOW!!

This ask is in reference to The Couch AU – Arthur is trans and I had mentioned that after he came out and got kicked out, he was taken in by Dutch and Hosea, a pair of Queens (that’s what Dutch calls them; Hosea rolls his eyes every time) that became like his parents and helped him get back on his feet.

So I think they met back in the 70s – Dutch’s hair and porn stache are definitely still stuck in that era, maybe he dresses like it too – at like, a gay disco or like a cowboy bar or something. Hosea was a little older (8 to 10 years), married with a wife and kids, deep in the closet. He loved Bessie, sure, but not in the way he knew a man was supposed to love his wife, knew he was living a lie. So he used to go cruising n that’s how he met Dutch and they fell in love…

I think back in the day, too, Dutch was one of those Angry Queers, was a little radical. He had ideals about how Gays should be treated and he was loud about them, he was out and proud and wanted to be treated as an equal etc. (I’m woefully ignorant about queer history unfortunately and don’t know the Gay Agenda™ of the period, so you’ll have to fill in the blanks yourself as to Dutch’s like, personal philosophy and beliefs)

Anyway so Hosea and Dutch met and fell in love and I think that gave Hosea the strength to come out to Bessie and his kids and try to live his life authentically… Bessie was hurt, sure, but they kept up an amicable relationship and she supported him… Bessie passed away pretty young (Hosea would be in his late 60s early 70s in 2019) and his kids are all grown… he and Dutch live in a little apartment with some little yappy dogs (Bonnie & Clyde) that Dutch treats like his babies…

This obviously means they were alive and out during the AIDS epidemic of the 80s, and I think that made Dutch even more vocal and is what really made them kind of… invest in the community, in a way. I think they definitely learned the importance of community in that period, and really found like, a calling in activism and action. Maybe one or both of them is HIV positive?

I also think Arthur’s not the first kid in a crisis they helped out, but maybe the first and only they kind of adopted, in a way.

Maybe they took Arthur in at the same time as they took John in as a foster child? Or maybe Dutch works with at-risk youth and that’s how he met John and Hosea is like “STOP BRINGING RANDOM CHILDREN INTO OUR HOME.” Idk ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

But Dutch and Hosea were instrumental in Arthur’s transition and supporting him thru his teens after he was kicked out. Dutch n Hosea, being Old Queens, had a lot of connections in the queer community and they helped Arthur a lot, and maybe knew a lot more about being trans and trans issues than other cis gays their age. Maybe Hosea even gave Arthur his name? It seems like the kind of gentle gesture he’d do…

And Dutch is always calling them Old Queens, but they’re varied in their hobbies; Hosea likes golf and is a wonder with the sewing machine, and Dutch of course likes reading, philosophy, and musical theatre. They both enjoy hunting and fishing and try to go at least once a year with Arthur. I think they really embraced Arthur’s manhood, too, and found a lot of joy in teaching and showing him things not taught to/encouraged in dfab ppl.

Like Hosea would tailor his clothes for him to help him get a more masc silhouette, especially before he was on T or had top surgery, and would hem his pants cuz they’re always too long. Dutch showed him how to shave and took Arthur to car shows (something he’d always been interested in but never been allowed to indulge in) and tried to give him dating advice…

Like they were really, really good parents to Arthur when he didn’t have anyone and Arthur… he says something dumb cheesy like “transitioning made me the boy I am, but Dutch and Hosea made me the man I am.” (it makes Charles cry the first time he says that, on the car ride home after meeting Dutch n Hosea for the first time – Arthur nearly crashes the car reaching over the seat to punch John in the head for gagging at the sappiness of it).

When… when Arthur and Charles inevitably get married, they will both walk Arthur down the aisle…… Dutch wears red accents, Hosea wears blue… Arthur wears purple………… 😭 😭

Also Dutch was absolutely 100% a leather daddy in the 80s. John now raids his closet looking for cool pieces to wear and steals all his vintage gay porno mags as like, weird collectable art that he frames and hangs around the house.

I didn't start watching the show until after season 2 was released, so I'm wondering, how accurate did the fan theories about season 2 end up being? Was there any major theory that ended up being totally off-base, or did people manage to guess what would happen pretty accurately?

There were a LOT of wild theories tbh. There were some rlly good ones too. I remember a rlly popular one was that after someone leaked some set pictures of Millie filming the scene where El gets off the bus in Chicago, a lot of ppl started theorizing that Eleven was hiding out there with some friends Hopper had there or smth (Now we know that “the city” Hop used to live in was New York, but we didn’t know that pre-s2 so ppl figured it might be Chicago and he had an old apartment there or smth). There were also a LOT of theories centered around the tunnels, bc that was some of the only plot hints we had going in to the season. People caught on pretty quickly after the trailer came out that the drawings in the Byers house were a map of the tunnels, and stuff spiraled from there. I remember one theory I personally believed was that the tunnels were what Will used in the Upside Down to get around and hide from the Demogorgon. Another big theory was that the red cloud that the Mind Flayer appeared in in Will’s visions was going to be an actual physical storm coming to Hawkins, which came p much from the few shots of it in trailers alongside the fact that the show originally released some fake episode titles when they announced s2, and one of them was “The Storm”. The old title for “The Lost Sister” was actually “The Lost Brother” and a LOT of theories came from that, ranging from pretty accurate like it being another experiment, to completely off base, like one I remember was it being about a 4th Wheeler sibling (Mike’s twin) who died (p much just came from the fact that Mike has a bunk bed). OH and if you remember the DnD scene at the end of season 1, aka everything with the proud princess, the lost knight, and the weird flowers in the cave? Everyone was CONVINCED those were supposed to be clues for season 2. Literally 99% of s2 theories mentioned those 3 things, and in the end they were complete red herrings. I’m still bitter about that, and if u ask any blog who was here pre-s2, chances are they are too. A lot of theories also came from Dragon’s Lair, as the Duffers hinted a lot that there would be symbolism in the game. Now we know that “symbolism” was rlly nothing more than foreshadowing that Lucas would end up with Max and not Dustin (”Princess Daphne is still mine!”) but for a long time we thought it was PLOT foreshadowing. And lemme tell you anon, I personally did SO MUCH research on that game and watched the gameplay so many times making theories. The plot of the game is about a knight rescuing a missing princess from a dragon, and a lot of us thought that was going to foreshadowing for Mike saving El from whatever was the reason she was still missing. For a LONG time ppl thought El was going to be in the Upside Down for a full year. If you read any pre-s2 fics, there’s a good chance that’s going to be referenced, bc for so long we didn’t have ANY clue where she could be so we just assumed she was stuck in the Upside Down as a default. It wasn’t until a year after the show came out that it was confirmed she’d been out of the Upside Down since the beginning. So yeah for a long time there were a LOT of theories about the kids doing a rescue mission to the Upside Down. Another theory that came from Dragon’s Lair was that Dustin was going to die, bc his character dies in Dragon’s Lair and people thought that would be similar foreshadowing to how in s1 Will’s DnD character was taken by the Demogorgon, then that’s what happened in real life. Speaking of character deaths, a LOT of people thought Steve or Hopper were gonna die. There wasn’t rlly explanation behind it, but everyone kinda agreed, their character arcs as of the end of s1 were set up well if the show wanted to kill one of them off. Another big plot theory that I remember was that the Upside Down would be spreading to the real world, bc the tag line for season 2 was “The World Is Turning Upside Down” and people connected it back to Mr Clarke’s line about how the gate could swallow everyone up whole. That theory KINDA became true and the gate was spreading in s2, but it wasn’t the plot of the season or anything, and it wasn’t near as serious in reality as people theorized it to be. There were a also LOT of theories about Will too, and a lot of them were some variation of Will having powers. Oh and since one of the episode titles is “The Spy” there were a lot of theories about who the spy was, the most common ones I remember were Max, Billy, Bob, and Hopper. The first 3 bc they were the newbies (no pun intended on Bob’s end) and Hopper bc we kinda knew he had some connection going on with the lab, but didn’t know the nature or what was going on or anything. OHMYGOD and how could I forget the Thessalhydra. The FREAKING Thessalhydra. Another DnD related theory that I spent HOURS of my life dedicated to researching only for it to amount to NOTHING. The Thessalhydra is another DnD monster, and it was also mentioned in the campaign at the end of season 1, and everyone was convinced that would be the new monster from s2. There weren’t a lot of theories about the Mind Flayer going into season 2 just because we didn’t know enough to even have theories, but almost every theory that did exist assumed that the shadow monster was the Thessalhydra coming to Hawkins following the Demogorgons defeat. Another one I remember is since we got shots of Joyce, Hop, and Bob wearing scrubs in the trailer, people thought they were going undercover in a hospital to either 1) kidnap Will out of it or 2) steal medical files.

As for theories that were accurate, there was a surprising lot. Honestly in reality a LOT of stuff that happened in season 2 was stuff ppl either theorized about, but their theories went WAY more in depth & went beyond what actually happened, or it was smth ppl figured was too obvious to be true. So honestly in the end we definitely OVER-theorized a lot for s2. El and Hop was one of them. Hopper hiding El in a secret cabin in the woods was one of those things that everybody in the fandom thought about, but most of us thought it was too predictable to be true (especially because one of those original episode titles was literally “The Secret Cabin”). Everyone pretty much assumed that Dustin’s pollywog was really the slug Will threw up, and there were even a lot of theories about it being a baby Demogorgon (though I don’t think ANYONE anticipated the demodogs). Or like I mentioned before, a lot of theories about El going to Chicago, but none of them were even CLOSE to what really happened. Kali’s original name in the show was Roman, and they kept her SUPER secretive. When the final trailer of the show came out, they included a shot of the gang wearing masks, and I remember someone was able to figure out that one of them was Roman/Kali, and that’s rlly all we knew about her going in. I actually remember someone sent me an ask back then thinking that the girl next to her might be El in a mask too, and I specifically remember looking at that picture thinking “Nah that’s not her” bc I mean, no one expected anything like episode 7. They had announced there was going to be an independent episode, and I remember our theories ranged everywhere from a musical episode to flashbacks of the year between 1 and 2 to a whole episode dedicated to Terry and MKUltra. But at no point did anyone come even close to figuring out the truth. There’s a lot of smaller details ppl anticipated too, like the Stancy breakup or Bob’s death, and even a good chunk of the plot honestly, even if no one rlly theorized the exacts, the whole kinda premise and concepts we had brought up a lot before and we had loosely figured it out. All in all honestly we did a pretty good job. Everything we COULD figure out based on the information we had we did for the most part, to the point where honestly this time around the show is being WAY more secretive in s3 because they don’t want us to figure stuff out again. Like I said before, honestly we over-theorized, we took all the information we had and definitely overthought everything a LOT and ended up going a lot more intense with it than what ultimately happened in the show lmao
