Okay this is insane, I used to read your fanfics on ffnet when I was like 11 or 12 and I really enjoyed them and you were one of my fave authors and today I randomly decided to go through the ikarishipping tag on Tumblr and I saw a "model behavior" update and I was like huh this sounds familiar, no way it's the same one tho, and I open it and see that it is!!! And it's a rewrite!!! I'm gonna read it as soon as possible and I am very glad you're back to writing ^_^. Lady Marmalade was one of my favourite fanfics back in the day and out of the thousands I've read it's still one that I remember by name and reminisce about.
Oh my gosh stop this comment just made my entire existence 😭❤️ I am so happy you enjoy my fics and are just as happy to see Model Behavior is back!!

I admit for a time I did fall out of writing, but hearing you say such kind things makes me so glad to be back. I’ve had so many ideas for MB over the years on what would happen to Hikari and Shinji and, no matter what, I am going to see it to its end. In doing that, I realized I had to update the writing for the early chapters so that people can get a better idea on what the story is. ( and also to remedy some immature writing on my part…)
Thank you so so much for coming back to this story and giving it another chance. This message gave me fuel to get the next chapter out soon, and I’ll be sure it doesn’t disappoint!! 🖤🖤
And I’m so glad Lady Marmalade is one of your favorites! I can’t believe it’s been so long since I wrote it, but I’m happy it left such an impression on you ^_^

hello do you have any book recs? we share similar taste and i would love to know what your picks are
oh!! what a fun question. i think i am fairly eclectic with my books (a whole mess), however, some very contemporary novels [etc] i've enjoyed recently are:
lote by shola von reinhold: which was a rec from @cristabel-oct that really has not left my mind since reading it. basically every other contemporary book that's trying to do stuff with gender or obsession (or even a sort of 'fandom') has paled in comparison to lote imo. the parody of art/academic culture is also v satisfying!!
piranesi by susanna clarke: possibly another one everyone else has heard of but, like! it's great stuff! i read it all in one sitting and it made me feel electrified and excited about books again (in the same way tlt has). so much voice + a engrossing, contained world. (a very obvious pair to borges' house of asterion, which is mb the best three page short story?)
megan whalen turner's entire queen's thief series: the first book is a breezier heist geared towards younger readers and yes the fourth book is the weakest but every other one is like so good. do you like eye and hand trauma! i think this series is my most natural rec for anyone who likes tlt (probably you have already read it!). i think it is some of the most clever plotwork and just a fully rendered world of nation-states and compelling actors throughout that always feel at motion. love when a schemey shady guy loves an incredibly cool, composed woman, what can i say?
also in the realm of 'big name' contemporary fiction, i am very energized by karen russell's writing in general? i've only read her short story collections but like. what a fun, expansive mind. she struggles with endings most, but i am usually in love with her prose decisions and the sheer level of weird, bizarre joy. her short story about presidents of the united states of america reincarnated as horses should not be one of the best stories of all time but, like, maybe it is?
i was also a big fan of hassan blasim's surreal the corpse exhibition and other stories of iraq. again, this feels cliche but words like 'visceral,' 'incisive' and 'playful' would not be out of place as descriptors. as much as it's about war, a lot of it is also a very macabre sort of borges. my favourite story is the one abt people who can just make knives appear and disappear. top tier power. reaching slightly farther back (although not much) fire and hemlock by diana wynne jones has no business being that much of a banger, david wojnarowicz's close to the knives is something i read for when i want to be jolted Awake by prose, we have always lived in the castle by shirley jackson is a masterpiece, and changeling by joy williams lives in that same luxurious/creepy register. the prime of miss jean brodie still absolutely kills on a prose level. & revisiting borges was one of the best things i did last year! as quick hits, in addition to the karen russell short story above, ling ma's los angeles is very fun, as is anthony veasna so's maly, maly, maly (you'll need paris review access boo hiss), and ottessa moshfegh's (of rest and relaxation fame) novella mcglue is about gay pirates?? i feel like most of these are very obvious recs, but they are the first that come to mind! give me your recs, anon. making this little list made me feel like i really do not read enough. but those are probably too many of my personal faves and idk Recent Formative Texts.

Remember when you pointed out that Puck's eyes are supposed to be green when they're blue in the books? Well, I've noticed that Puck doesn't anything look like his parents; I mean, he doesn't really have blue eyes like Titania or Oberon nor does he have brown hair. So how come he doesn't look like them?
Awright I waited till my day off to answer this because I wanted Sources. MB said somewhere (and this I did NOT look up the source for, but I Remember it), that Puck’s eyes are supposed to be green, but one book he accidentally said blue (and thus the color-shifting eyes were born and fandom translated this to be Magical Hazel Eyes that turn pink when he’s in love and I want to D I E). If your parents have blue eyes, but there’s a green eye gene on both sides of the family, then you’re likely to have blue eyes, but you COULD have green eyes. Genetics and all.
So there are several possibilities. The first is this thing that happens a lot to white kids where our hair starts out blonde and gets darker the older we get. Like everyone in my family was blonde up until their early teens, but my mom’s got brown hair, my dad’s hair turned BLACK by the time he was in his late 20s, and mine is kinda orangey-brown. Since Mustardseed is blonde too, it makes sense that, as 11-y/os, they’re still blond, even if it might get darker as they get older.
Alternatively, Titania could dye her hair brown. Faerie is heavily modeled after mafia movies, and as a Mob Wife(tm), Titania would not only wear hideous leopard print dresses and a ton of makeup, but she would dye her hair a different color every week.
Option three: since we never get any physical description for Oberon other than “a bear of a fairy,” the boys could also take after him. Body type is only a little inherited, and I imagine the natural build for fairies is lithe. Makes for easier flight. But Oberon has been extorting money from people for decades, and it doesn’t sound like he’s doing much with it other than enjoying fancy food and feeling powerful. So Puck could look like his dad did when he was younger.
OR there’s this thing where some people look more like their aunts and uncles and grandparents than their parents. Puck could be a throwback.
I feel like you were suggesting Puck was adopted or something equally secretive and intriguing, anon. And while that’s POSSIBLE, I don’t think it’s likely, since Sabrina notices that Puck and Mustardseed have the same chin and nose. It IS possible that Titania cheated on Oberon to have Puck. They seem to have a very unhealthy relationship even in Shakespeare.
My favorite idea, though, goes back to Trans!Puck because I love trans Puck it’s just such a perfect headcanon I’m just kind of casually incorporating it into everything now even if I don’t make it overt.
So let’s say Puck is trans. Fairies tend to be beautiful. Moth says so. Dunno what exactly happened to Oberon but whatever. So a beautiful 11 year old girl looks DIFFERENT than a beautiful 11 year old boy, generally. Puberty is starting, especially for someone with a uterus. Puck maybe has started to have trouble passing.
Seriously, eleven is OLD to stop aging if you wanna stay a kid forever. There’s gotta be a reason he stopped so late, and whether you think he’s trans or not, you have to admit it probably stemmed from fear. Something happened that made him go “I have to stop aging NOW,” and not when he was nine or twelve (both right before major milestones as far as humans think of age).
So if Puck is a transboy and if his face is starting to turn into something people generally think of as beautiful and girlish, it’s not at all improbable that he’s started casually shapeshifting himself to look more masculine. Thicker eyebrows, deeper-set eyes. Thinner, paler lips. That sort of thing. So maybe the Puck that Sabrina is used to seeing isn’t really what Puck looks like at all.
I dunno, that’s just my headcanon. It would be INTERESTING if someone wanted to write a fanfic in which Puck is adopted, though. Or, like, he’s actually not Oberon’s kid. Or he is, but he’s not Titania’s. But I’m probably not gonna do it because transboy Puck is just... my fave
