I like the idea of Yuichi working at Run of The Mill in a fusion setting, but I think everyone is missing an excellent opportunity by just making him competent at his job.

Here me out: Hueso is running his restaurant in secret on the surface, which likely limits his access to supplies and ingredients from either side.

...and Yuichi's aunt canonically runs a farm.

So picture this: Yuichi is just getting to the peak of his Samurai fanboy phase when he's really wanting to strike out on his own & prove his independence.

His aunt, however, wants him to maybe start a little bit- smaller.

So she reaches out to the community and her regular buyers to see if anyone needs a hand around their businesses.

The majority turn her down, and the few that don't are quick to show bunny-boy out the door within the day with the amount of chaos he causes.

Finally, desperate, she strikes a deal with Hueso: as long as he keeps Yuichi employed, he'll get a special deal on all the produce & supplies he gets from her farm.

Hueso, in need of some new waitstaff and desperate to restock after the hits taken during the invasion, grudgingly agrees.

He comes to regret this, but not enough to actually fire him. Yet.

The limit's coming quick though, and it's going to be reached even quicker when a certain blue turtle recovers enough to start making a menace of himself around the restaurant again, this time in an extremely targeted fashion towards his new rabbit waiter.
