Ponyboy will defend Soda so hard when people say that he's not very bright.

He'll tell them that even though his brother isn't book smart, it doesn't mean he's stupid. That he's smart in so many other ways, and that at the end of the day, he's just as intelligent as him and Darry.

And then Soda will pull up and say something like "Damn, how do the chip companies get the chips in the bag without opening the bag 🤔?"
