“My tears watched the sunrise
A glorious sight for a lonely moment
They had never seen something so beautiful
But they were so sad
At the moment in time, time itself stood still and for a second
They forgot why they were there
To comfort the anguished heart that had lost all feeling
It’s beat becoming in tune with the sound of silence
Flat
The music in my mind played a different melody than the one that the sunrise made
No upbeat tempo to fill this stanza of pain
I was always good at finding the perfect song to express how I felt
The words matching rhythm of my heart
But now there’s no lyrics to flow to it anymore
The trail that my tears left behind matched the line on the heart monitor machine
Moving straight to nowhere
When those tears watched a sunrise, they thought that everything would be okay
Thought the happiness would come back with the morning
Yet, my mind is still mourning
Over a dead heart that can’t be resurrected with a light
It’s funny how they say the eyes are the window to the soul
Cause when I look out that window, my eyes holding the tears see only loss of happy moment turned to misery
My tears fell down with the sun
That evening
Not the best way to spend the day
But I guess they just wanted to come out and play
Hopeful that they can see things getting better
They didn’t know that they were attached to a girl
So broken , her smile was one line away from breaking her in half
They were there to seek a promising outlook on life
Yet, the girl only saw them as defeat
She had let the tears overrun her body, washing her in a shower of lonesome
Not knowing that their intentions were to make her whole again
They say crying is a way to relieve stress
But this burden weighing in her shoulders could produce a river full of tears
And at that moment she understood the saying
My tears watched the sunrise again
At dawn
But by morning, they had dried up with the dew
Leaving ashy dust on top of a face that felt a washed with sorrow that her tears may have to watch the sunrise once again”
