I don't think any production of Doctor Faustus staged in modern times has ever included this scene, and omitting it is absolutely the correct dramatic decision, but I think about that last speech on a surprisingly frequent basis
#doctor faustus#hot faust summer#we already get the point that actually his colleagues love him#so it's dramatically unnecessary#and the immediate cut from 'ah mephistopheles' to 'cut is the branch' is really good#plus there's no time for adequate stage carnage#(the actual dialogue along those lines is what tv tropes calls narm)#i do get some feels from it on the page tho
