international fandom talk// found out from a chinese friend that naruto x sasuke, hashirama x madara, and kakashi x obito are like some holy trinity of shipping for the naruto fandom in asia. but in china in particular kakaobi/obikaka dominates above all else... also the name order matters w the first part of the name "topping" and apparently all fans do is fight eachother about the dynamics... apparently back in the day kakaobi was more popular so a lot of english speakers picked that up (where i picked up the ship name) so it's still pretty high on lofter (higher than naruto and sasuke) but now obikaka dominates the chinese fandom... she said my indifference and sillyness would get me killed if i eventually used chinese social media bcuz ppl that ship obikaka were especially intense abt them but she would still support me for having such a free heart 😳 i told them that kakashi x iruka was popular in western fandom and she was like 'i cannot understand this since they don't try to kill eachother'
