Hooo boy. Ok, I'm chucking my fics into a random number generator... Ooh! Ok this is a fic I don't think I've ever really shared on tumblr Harry's Spiny Adventure

Closing the book, Remus rested one hand on the tiny hedgehog.

“I also brought you a chocolate frog, but I suppose hedgehogs can’t eat chocolate.” He sighed, shaking his head to himself. “I suppose I’ll just have to eat it myself.”

He had barely gotten the frog out of his pocket when the weight in his lap suddenly increased, and he was only just able to scoop Inky out of the way before the newly-human Harry sat on her.

This was a flashfest fic for a picture prompt of a very smiley hedgehog, set in a universe where Sirius is raising Harry. Originally I think I had Harry just befriend a hedgehog, but it evolved into his first big use of accidental magic when he was told the hedgehog couldn't live inside - turning himself into a teeny, tiny baby hedgehog.

Wildcard (more number generator fun): 33. Do you practice any other art besides writing? Does that art ever tie into your writing, or is it entirely separate?

I have about a million different hobbies that I flick between (thanks ADHD!). I knit and crochet, I cross stitch, embroider, play the piano, sing...

I haven't really included any of my hobbies in fics up til now but I want to. In my latest fic Draco knits, but there isn't really any detail given to it. But I would love to include more knitting and/or crochet in my fics in particular.

Hi pal! Crawling inside my brain should come with a blaring warning sign, but here we go!

1. What font do you write in? Do you actually care or is that just the default setting?

I answered this here. I'd love to be one of those people who edit in a different font, but it itches my brain in a bad way.

10. Has a piece of writing ever “haunted” you? Has your own writing haunted you? What does that mean to you?

Well, I'm currently being haunted by a WIP that is WAY overdue and just keeping oooOOOOoooo-ing in my brain threateningly.

As a reader, being haunted by a fic means those fics that I just can't get out of my head, that leave me feeling hungover in the best way. The most recent fic that did that to me was Away Childish Things. Far From The Tree also haunts me regularly.

33. Do you practice any other art besides writing? Does that art ever tie into your writing, or is it entirely separate?

I pulled this here from a number generator 🙈But to expand on it, I have fallen in love with characterisations of Harry and Draco that include knitting and/or crochet (@softlystarstruck @thesleepiesthufflepuff and @cavendishbutterfly all have great fics with this!), and I just think these boys deserve a soft, feel good hobby like that. As I learn more and more in my own practice of it, I'm feeling more able to include it in fic, so watch this space.

Also, I think Draco definitely learnt piano as a kid and during Hogwarts holidays. But the kind of piano I learnt doesn't translate well into what I think he would have been forced into - I'm certainly not playing full classical pieces anytime soon!

13 What helps you fall asleep?

Hahahaha if I knew I'd tell you!!!

I know I sleep better if I have a hot shower right before bed, and I have always needed weight on at least my legs - I am obsessed with my weighted blanket and am sad if I'm going away somewhere I can't take it.

22 What was the best food you had this week?

I have largely been surviving on pure caffeine this week 😅But yesterday I had chicken katsu sushi and I'm sure part of it was that I'd barely eaten all day (family weddings, ya know) but it was so good!

30 How do you feel about this weekend?

I answered this yesterday but I feel like this is an interesting exercise to answer like 15 hours later as well! Yesterday was my brother in law's wedding which was super fun. They have been through so much to get here so it was super exciting to get to celebrate with them. Right now, though, I'm absolutely exhausted and dreading the uni work I have to do today 😂
