Hi! You can call me Gekko. I make art, primarily for my Hollow Knight AU, named Feral PK AU, but you'll also find occasional dragon/dinosaur art or maybe even fanart from other media. I also reblog posts from various other things, so it can get a bit chaotic.

That being said, the AU is the main focus of this blog. It is a slice of life AU for my favorite characters which mostly takes place in Dirtmouth, though over time it also evolved into a personal worldbuilding and character driven project.

AU RELATED DISCLAIMERS/FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

» The AU takes place after the Embrace the Void ending, and so The Knight/Ghost is not present. Here is a post detailing what happened to them (and the other shade siblings in the Abyss).

» Feral PK's name in the AU is Vyrm (an alternate spelling of Wyrm that he uses as his name), though I occasionally refer to him as FPK. Also, I headcanon him as gay (demi-gay to be more precise). At the current point in the AU he and The White Lady are separated.

» As you probably noticed, most of my designs stray very far from insect-like interpretations. That is very much intentional. In the AU, I see "bug" as a general term for "people", not an implication that they are all insects. While some characters do have more insect-like anatomy, there are others which possess reptilian, mammalian or even plant-like traits. I go a little more in detail on how I see that term in this post. So while I'm not bothered by people referring to for example, Grimm or Vyrm as insects, keep in mind that this is not how I personally view them.

» Additionally, I see the characters as much larger than real life insects. As a reference point, Vyrm is similar in height to a raccoon standing on two legs. For this reason, most of the characters have skeletal structures to support larger body mass. There are some exceptions, notably characters such as Unn.

» Please keep in mind that the AU originated as something I found comfort in, and it remains that way. There may be inconsistencies, I might retcon things on the go, and some things may simply not be well written. I also have no plans to turn it into a fanfic or a comic.

» I'm always open to answer questions about the AU and the characters! So if you have any, please don't be afraid to send me an ask, I absolutely love responding to them. 💖

(*disclaimer: i have adhd myself and work in education/educational psychology, which is the basis of this post in which i get wayyyyy too analytical about a fictional character; however, i'm not a psychiatrist or doctor and am not qualified to diagnose real people with adhd or anything else ... seriously, our only representation is cis white boys whose adhd is an explanation for them being the class clown and treated as a joke so please don't get salty at me for claiming a fictional character that isn't a cis white boy as part of the adhd gang)

sup homies, as you know, tumblr cut me off so i had to make a part 2. (here's part 1)

ambitious but lacking in direction - noted terrible educator will schuester describes santana as being "unfocused" in 3x16.  she's indecisive about college in the latter half of season 3, initially says she wants to go then flip-flops, and then goes to louisville (fun fact: donovan mitchell also went there) for a short period of time then drops out.  after that she has a bunch of projects and career goals that never really go anywhere. (partially thanks to the lazy writing on the show)

fear of failure - santana wanted to go to new york after graduation but initially wanted to stay behind when she found out brittany wasn't graduating (like immediately), then chose to take the scholarship to louisville despite brittany and quinn both pointing out that she had the cash from her parents to pursue her dreams in new york (brittany was a lot more supportive and less judgy though). she did end up going after unpacking her anxiety around it with britt though.

low self-esteem, anxiety and/or depression - season 2 is what i like to refer to as "santana lopez's sad gay era", however i'd also argue that season 4 until mid season 5 (when she reunites with brittany) is kind of a low period for her as well.  the break-up is painful for both of them.  they're one another's safe people so when they don't have each other in close proximity, both of them experience depression.  i would also consider her demeanour at the beginning of 5x09 as an example of her exhibiting signs of depression. santana also experiences a lot of anxiety around her interpersonal relationships (pretty much all of season 2, 4x16, 5x09-5x13); in 5x18 it's very apparent that she's scarred by the experience with auditioning for rachel's understudy part and doesn't want to intrude on mercedes (thankfully, mercedes is awesome, we love mercedes jones here, themostrandomfandom does a great job of analysing this storyline here). it's also worth noting that despite how clumsily she goes about things, santana lopez is the most loyal, ride-or-die person on this damn show (she's definitely a gryffindor or hufflepuff who thinks she's a slytherin despite my less than positive thoughts on the transphobic lady's book series, or - in the context of the superior book series - a mary anne who thinks she’s a claudia) but the only acknowledgement she gets is shame, so she internalises it to give people an "out" ("I'm numb to people's feelings", "I have no heart").

can be easily distracted (while also hyperfocused on other things) - has a tendency to zone out of conversations (credit to @santanaslawyer on twitter) and couldn't remember her locker combo around brittany (although some of that could have also been santana being in her sad gay era and pining over britt)

narrow window of tolerance - santana was completely done with everyone's shit like all the time

strong sense of justice - homegirl uses her bitch powers to protect the people she cares about (see 2x17, 3x11, 5x18). other people aren't allowed to make fun of her mates, that's her job, dammit! she's also proactive in reporting mr schuester's lack of efficiency as a spanish teacher not because she dislikes him (which she doesn't; she might roll her eyes at him all the time but she does actually like him as a person) but because his teaching promotes offensive stereotypes, harms her and negatively affects everyone's education (and to her credit she is way more patient and charitable to him than he deserves when he literally chastises her in front of everyone for doing it). she will also challenge authority in situations where she is being held to a different standard to others. in 3x07, when figgins is considering suspending santana, she pushes back against it (rightfully so) because she doesn't understand how there isn't a zero-tolerance policy for violence when finn and puck get into it in the middle of school, or when the glee club get slushied, or when kurt is repeatedly physically assaulted by karofsky, but she slaps finn (after he outed her) and this policy suddenly exists. same applies in 3x13 when finn and rachel are allowed to have very graphic PDAs at school with no complaint from the authorities, but santana and brittany have one chaste peck and it's the end of the world, and she rightfully tells figgins that there's a double standard.

(really random) hyperfixations - it's a popular glee headcanon that santana spends a lot of time researching random shit on wikipedia (which she probably did the night before her wedding so she could explain to britt about the superstition around the bride/groom not seeing each other before the wedding) based on the absolute batshit cultural references she comes out with. she makes the most random cultural references (e.g. comparing rory to the great gazoo, which is a really random side-character from the flintstones), and has somewhat of a fascination with lizards (2x04, 2x12).  she also just randomly made an entire voodoo doll of rachel berry just for shits and giggles, like … wtf

lack of spatial awareness - so this one's mostly just naya rivera's physical comedy, but ... in the nicest possible way ... santana's a tad bit unco, isn't she? (see: her very charming wacky inflatable arm-waving tube person dancing in 3x08, the scene where she literally walks headfirst into a balloon in 3x22 and the scene in 5x17 where she gets attacked by pigeons).

hyperactive - santana's abuela put her in ballet classes because she was "such a tomboy and it really pissed [her] dad off"; obviously we know she had a mullet and dressed up as uncle jesse from full house for halloween (and she knows how to tie a tie, thanks again sarah) - those are obviously aesthetic things but "tomboy" can also be code for "hyperactive" in afab people (particularly if santana's grandmother was of the "children should be seen and not heard" generation).

Saw a meme on Twitter and I decided to go for the challenge as well! I also tried to find post on twitter but I couldn't find it 🥲

I was gonna go with something simple bit instead I felt like experimenting with some new art techniques and decided to try cell shading. It wasn't too bad for me on my first try since I feel this was something I was doing with my digital art the whole time. I apologize Funtime Foxy's shadow is drawn great, drawing shadows is difficult for me and I tried a technique but it still didn't turn out the way I imagined. Hope I can improve more with digital art and I did had fun doing this challenge!

Were they planning to make Aegon rapes Alicent or something? "Menace Alicent" what does this even means ..... The thing is i got a feeling that they want to turn Aegon into a weird mix of Ramsay-joffery and not even an interesting mix, just a cartoonish one. Perhaps , they will continue doing this ... Or maybe not and it's the fault of that garbage who got kicked out .

I'm not sure if Tom Glynn-Carney's whole GOT Con panel has been posted, but I saw clips of it on Twitter in December, and basically he said -paraphrasing - that Aegon's relationship with everyone (mostly Alicent) was going to be.

"I have the power now and I'll make you love me."

Which, I interpreted to mean that Aegon was gonna dominate and force Alicent into doing whatever he pleases or wants. I know from seeing the leaked Sapochnik treatment that they were going to lean heavy not only into making Aegon a Nero type character - cruel and insane - but that they were going to pit Aegon vs. Aemond.

The treatment basically read that they were gonna be fighting all through out the season. And just before "The Battle of Rook's Rest" Aegon taunts Aemond about something (most people read it as him mocking Aemond's love for Helaena) that nearly drives Aemond over the edge. Then, later, Aemond loses control of Vhagar and she ends up attacking Sunfyre during the duel with Rhaenys and that it's Vhagar that burns Aegon afterward.

But that was the scrapped concept that WB/Discovery rejected and threw in the trash.

I think people don't understand that Sapochnik did not want to come back to the ASoIaF Universe - period. He is a petty, egotistical, narcissist. He disliked GOT because he felt that no one saw his genius and that he never got the credit he thought he deserved. The dude not only hates ASoIaF and GRRM, but what he hates the absolute most is the fans. He never ever hid that from anyone. He thinks we're all stupid and not worthy of his talent - yes, he's said that publicly.

HBO committed to "House of the Dragon" before Season 8 of "Game of Thrones" and was forced to make it. They asked Sapochnik to run the show, because, his episodes won Emmys and no one else wanted to go anywhere near the franchise after Season 8 of GOT. He resisted and openly insulted both fans and franchise till HBO offered him a blank check, awards - which he covets more than anything -, and full story control - against GRRM's protests.

So Sapochnik and his wife took GRRM and Condal's scripts and gutted them. They hired actresses (Cooke and D'arcy) that fit the political and social agenda they wanted to push rather than veteran genre actresses. And basically promised them not only awards (Emmys and Golden Globes) but input into the story and characters that go absolutely against the source material. Because, this was Sapochnik and his wife's show, not GRRM's and certainly not the fans.

Then, HBO and their parent company Warner Brothers got sold to Discovery and they immediately began inventory and cost cutting - and looking over not only budgets but what they're willing to invest into that can make money. And when they read Sapochnik's Season 2 and told him that they weren't going to produce it, the little bitch threw a mega-tantrum and then quit.

The guy is a good director, but his ego is his glass jaw.

Hey I'm Dizzy. I'm just here to post about stuff I enjoy. I've been from LiveJournal (during my Backstreet Boys days), to here (during FFXV's haydays), to Twitter (after this place imploded from the nsfw ban) I am still on Twitter but it's kind of messy over there right now.

The only fandom I actually claim is FFXV. Other things I'm just a fan of and enjoy without being involved with the fandoms associated with them.

I'm an older fan and I don't have time for internet BS.

I love Final Fantasy (X, XV, VIII, XIV, XVI and X are my top favorites and I have played all of them except for XI), Kirby, Persona 5, Animal Crossing, Boo from the Super Mario games, and JRPGs in general.

I love horror movies and novels, all genres of music, anime and animated shows/cartoons (I don't watch too much live action television or movies)

I collect video game merchandise, video game soundtracks, PVC figures, Nendoroids, video game books (artbooks, strategy guides, etc)

This blog used to be just a FFXV blog but I have decided to open it up to all my interests after it's sat kind of dormant for awhile.

All posts and reblogs will be properly tagged. I always use proper tags for archive purposes. If I have any tags of my own to add to a post (comments, etc) they will always be at the end of the tags.

I don't want my screenshots, actual pictures I have taken of stuff I own, etc posted anywhere else. If you absolutely have to repost something of mine, credit me or provide a link back please.
