"i swear i just saw her tail!"

"no dude it's probably a dolphin, this area is known for dolphins swimming around"

"yeah...but also known for sirens"

the giant floating vessel passed by the surface of the sea, or as the villagers named it "the dark sea". at first glance no one will find any difference between that ship and any other fishing trawler, but when observed closely, the sailors don't have their neat uniforms on, their clothes fabic looks cheap and old, their overall appearance seems odd and different from their big nice boat, it's because that boat doesn't actually belong to them it was stolen from it's previous owners. but the crew's captain Mathew doesn't like the term stealing, he prefers to say that his ships are deserved for winning them in an unwanted fight.

Captain Mathew loved nothing more than gold, so when he first heard of the hidden treasure somewhere in the sea many years ago, he knew that his goal was to find it and proof that it isn't just another tale like the many others that were passed down through generations.

so that's exactly what he was planning to do. he seized the opportunity of having a boat strong enouph to handle any unexpected storm and a reliable crew of corsairs to set off in a long journey relying on an old map and a compass.

they've been away for three weeks. wasting their time with games and songs, but the more the days passed the more the pirates started losing trust in their captain scared of getting lost through the wide endless waves. but he seemed more confident than ever and no one dared to argue with him in fear of getting punished..

one of the men kept knocking aggressively on the door of the captain's cabin quarters, and when he finally had the permission to enter he just snapped at matt and started to yell.

"you have no clue where we are going! you should use logic now over that hopeless faith of finding your "treasure" it's nonsense!"

matt didn't utter a single word, he just stared at the angry man before him with a blank expression.

"so now redirect the ship and let us go back to our regular spot"

after the guy finished his request, matt stood up and walked slowly towards the man with a smirk drawn on his face.

"you wanna go back now don't ya?"

the furious man nodded in agreement.

"okay then follow me"

the man followed behind him as he walked out to the deck. matt called for everyone and they quickly gathered around them.

*that guy just asked to go back!"

matt turned his body to face him, "right dear fellow?" "yes! i don't wanna die here!

matt then bursted into laughter as if someone just said the funniest joke.

"I'm not redirecting my boat, i am going to find that treasure" he said with a threatening tone.

"and for your ask, you can always swim all the way back home" matt said that like it was the most obvious thing. while everyone started laughing, matt slowly unholstered his pistol and pointed it towards the man's head.

"didn't you fucking hear me? I said swim back home! or you'll unfortunately have to die here"

matt kept walking closer to the man in a slow pace leading him towards the railing, until the man eventually tripped and fell off the ship..

"alright now, anyone else missing home?"

while matt's anticipation kept getting bigger for finding his treasure, a sudden voice calling him interrupted his thoughts.

a soft soothing feminine voice that whispered his name in a song he swore had been sent down from heaven. the sweet sound completely blocked him from reality and his only focus was set on following it. meanwhile the pirates were busy with work and chores till one of the younger boys saw a glimpse of a moving figure in the fog. he asked everyone if they've also seen that but everyone accused him of hallucinations caused by hunger.

"guys look! it's getting closer!"

everybody stopped moving and tried to concentrate especially after they heard a faint singing voice coming from afar.

they looked at each other in fear of accidentally approaching something dangerous.

they were in the middle of the infamous dark sea, where rumours spread about monsters wandering there, but the most interesting tale was always the sirens that lead sailors to their doom.

the fog was so dense it could hide the sun but matt was able to recognize a human like face only the upper half of it showing on the water's transparent surface. a pair of glistening eyes peered at him sending shivers down his spine. his curiosity took the best of him and he kept moving closer towards her.

the ship's crew was panicking at this point cause of the sudden quick movement of the ship and they saw a very clear giant rock that they might crash into by any second. so they rushed to their captain wanting to halt at once, but it was of no use. the boat was speeding up and so did their heartbeats..

while for matt, his anticipation for seeing the concealed face kept growing with each passing second knowing that it's less than a mile away.

but surprisingly it turned quickly and left deep down in the water like it was never there, one of the pirates saw her tail and that was the last proof needed to be sure that it really was a siren.

after she completely went out of sight, matt came back to his senses and ordered to drop the anchor.

when everything was finally back to normal, matt's state was terrible and maybe the only thing that will help him clear his mind is his treasure hunt. he putted his hand in his pocket to grab his compass but.. he didn't find it. he searched for it in everywhere but it just disappeared. he thought that it migh just be hidden somewhere under a table or stuck in the cracks between the woodfloor.

but little does he know that his precious compass was in the hands of the most one he can't get out of his mind..

In your opinion, how would a fem near, Matt, mello, matsuda, turn out?

Fem!Near design

A bit about Near & Mello (see tags, too)

Rewritten scene of Near returning Mello's photo (+tone shift & take that I'd love. A more Kakegurui-esk portrayal of the women if they were gender swapped)

And also Fem!Matsuda in the back. Not very different, but shorter. Not shorter than Misa but noticeably so next to Light & L (she's the only one genderswapped within the Kira task force to have a clumsy, Kobeni (CSM) type girl to balance L's boldness and Misa & Light's lesbian insanity. She'd also still shoot Light at the warehouse which, like many of her other characteristics, I'd only let happen if it's in place of another woman.)

Matsuda remains very eager to help out & not much changes story wise (at least I haven't come up with things that'd underline her femininity like I have for Light & L, since Matsuda has a pretty 'feminine' personality already. I wouldn't wanna focus on her femininity too much anyway. Much like Kobeni in CSM)

Mello appears more vicious than she does in canon. She just feels kind of evil and vindictive, yet never actually harms Near when she gets the chance. Especially later in the story Mello loses a lot of his snide smirks and I'd like to replace those with boastful looks for his fem counterpart. She'd look very similar to her canon design with perhaps a few more stripes and piercings. I'd maybe wanna give her a bit more tan, too🤔😌 She's compared to a pirate and that's badly what I want to achieve with her.

The linked posts above say a lot about Near already, but I kinda love her & while rewatching Kakegurui for the 4th time this week it came to my attention that english Miri Youbami has similar voice qualities to english Near. Make of that what you will♡

Can't really say I have big plans on changing Matt too much, either. Unlike all other characters (except for L & sooomewhat Misa) she's got long nails. She'd have these square Acrylics that would peak out from the half hand, fuzzy-ended gloves she wears. She'd have long bangs that usually cover her eyes pretty snugly, wherefore she'd always wear her goggles on her head above them. Perhaps I'd give her a more enticing accessory, since she remains the sharp tongued, chill, pro blunt roller. Bell bottoms might be right. But those that aren't as tight around the knees & have pockets for hand hiding.

💕 favourite cr show other than the campaign

I'm very fond of pubdraw. It's just very chill and also i love seeing the cast draw. To this day my favourite thing is Sam's Delight at being able to draw like !!! Yes king you Can Draw!! :'D

Trent is consecuted and the reason he wanted to be killed so badly was so he could be reborn and be off the hook for war crime.

He picked out kids who showed signs if anamnesis then did tests on them and mind wiped them afterwards, efectively removing any memory if their past lives and then figured out consecution once he started working with Essek.

Anyway it was a cool scenario but not smth that was ever going to happen alas.

🤯 most unexpected reveal

Oh 100% Essek's traitor reveal!!

Every major reveal up until ep69 (when i caught up) was spoiled for me so things like veth's vackstory reveal didn't Do much for me as i was already suspecting it.

But ep 97 though!

Oh boy.. i was already falling into essek stan-hood pretty quickly after his appearance and then gradually but i NEVER SUSPECTED that he was the traitor.

I was like Ah Yes this here is Essik Theylas, overworked office worker who just really wants a break and a boyfriend.

The shady behaviour?? Went straight over my head. I was like Ah he's such a nice boy he's so Polite 😂😂😂

I rly should've known but i rly thought it would be too obvious a play to have the First person they get close to in the dynasty be the traitor. Like.. what are the odds right??

Not like it was already a ridiculous coincidence that Veth's husband worked for the assembly, and he's the Sweetest Man.

Dnd man. It's a whole other beast.

Just... get all ur faves on a boat and forse them to bond. It's a Great storytelling tool. Not to mention i Adore tm9 when they're chaotic and comiting crime by accident.
