Accessing Past Lives (Long Post)

Ritual for looking into your past life or lives. Warning this post is freakin' long, I'm so sorry in advance. If you want to skip my rambling and go directly to instructions FEEL FREE lol!!!

So I decided after a long time of wanting to do this and just failing to find time or energy, I finally buckled down and found out a bit about a past life of mine. I am sure that this ritual may be dangerous for some who are more sensitive to this stuff than I am, so please be careful and aware of yourself at all times. Protect yourself with sigils, charms, sage, whatever. Please.

Anyway, so I've done a lot of research into past lives and know that it can be accessed via lucid dream, scrying, oracle, or tarot. I hadn't read too much on how to do it with tarot, but I knew I wanted to try! So I got an odd assortment of stones, candles, and just personal items to help me on this journey. As with any spell/ritual I do, I customized it to my preference or to what I had available to me at the time. Please feel free to do the same.

Items needed: Your favorite/preferred tarot deck Stones or Chrystals Associated with Past lives, protection, and/or clarity Candles (with scents or colors appropriate for this ritual) Incense and/or sage Any personal item belonging to you (favorite jewelry/charm, hair, tears, saliva, clothing, etc.)

Steps to Preforming Past Lives Ritual: Cleanse your stones, Chrystals, tarot deck(s), etc. before attempting this ritual (previous uses or entities could still effect your reading if you do not cleanse your items for this ritual).

Protect yourself (as with any spell or ritual that could open a gate, please be mindful of your space and protect yourself accordingly. This ritual wasn't harming to me, but all witches are different so please be wise and use your noggin)!

Meditate (get all those loose and meaningless thoughts out of your head. You need a clear and open mind for this ritual to work).

Light your incense (I used a white sage incense for protection as well as to symbolize any material I may have not had in order to preform this ritual) and be sure to light all your candles with this incense stick.

Waft your past life stone through the smoke of the incense and candles (I used my Carnelian for this) and recite your own variation of what I did below (use your own deity as well):

"Please Freyja, guide me to see my past life or lives. If it becomes too much, allow me to shut the door by simply saying goodbye."

I then ran my tarot deck over the smoke as well, while still holding the carnelian in my palm. 

Shuffle the deck to your desired taste (I always shuffle mine 9x because 9 is my lucky/life number. Of course if a card catches your eye before your shuffle is up, please set it asside. It may aid in your reading).

Set the deck down and close your eyes holding the past life stone to see if anything comes to you (if so, hold that thought in your mind and continue. If not, just continue.)

Draw your cards and use whatever spread you feel comfortable with(I believe drawing cards in tarot is personal and it is truely however you feel is fit. Some people count so many cards into the deck to find their true card. But I usually do it just simply based on feeling and energy).

NOTE: I drew 6 cards simply because I used the Mind and Spirit Guide Spread from my tarot book (spread seen below, sorry for the low quality pic). But you may draw as little or as many cards as you please.

Flip your first card over and detect the meaning. Read the rest of your cards one by one, and between each card, close your eyes and meditate for a few moments (or however long you feel you need. Also I held my Carnelian during the whole reading to aid in my task).

After all the cards have been read and you have reflected and mediated on them, let the incense burn till it's out completely.

As the incense burns out, feel free to run the cards you drew through the smoke of the incense and candles, repeating the phrases from before the reading. Say goodbye at the end of the ritual and snuff your candles, do not blow them out. I didn't say goodbye simply because I additionally asked my deity, Freyja, to bless me with dreams tonight for more answers into my past life. I will keep the carnelian and the cards I drew close to me as I sleep tonight to aid with this venture.
