Hi! Longtime NS fan here with a silly ship question: It was always pretty well foreshadowed that Sylas/Seiji and Philomena/January were going to be endgame but what's up with those sketches of Tobi and Lucy? Were they going to be endgame too? What happened to Su Yeong D: ? Was it planned for her to amicably break things off with Tobi but eventually get together with Ana (as I assumed the sleepover drawing was meant to imply)?
as far as end game goes, my feelings by the end of it were that lucy wouldn't be with anybody, because they needed to get right with Themself and not pin their whole heart on outside validation.
as for lucy and tobi and su-yeong and ana, i never settled on it. i feel pretty confident that tobi was not going to leave su-yeong, and i did have some nebulous ideas of su-yeong and ana at the very least meeting and forming a connection over their various relationships to magic, but it was too complicated to ever reasonably get to. their whole situation, combined with my choices regarding rin, are a big part of why i quit. there was just too much to do!

At over an hour long I'm counting Cunk on Life (2024) as a movie. While not quite as strong as the previous entries in the Philomena Cunk mockumentary series, this special still had me laughing so hard I couldn't breathe several times. The fact that they actually got pretty famous and well respected physicist Brian Cox to sit down and get his entire field of study roasted by Cunk was the highlight. Though I also lost it a few times at her narration on religion.

Singer Billie Anthony, was born on October 11th 1932 in Glasgow.
Christened Philomena McGeachie Levy, Billie had a good start to break into the world of show business, as her godmother was Gracie Fields, although her parents divorced when she was just 18 days old. Her mother, Lily, was a dancer, and young Philomena spent her childhood around the theatre, hoping for a career as a dancer.
In 1946, at age 14, Billie ran away from home and joined a touring show as one of May Moxon’s troupe. She met Peter Elliott and formed a double act with him, touring theatres as Phil & Peter Elliott, the Debonair Dancers. This act was abandoned when Peter was called up for national service in the Royal Air Force. Taking advice from another friend, Tony Brent (who had become a successful singer), she decided to take up singing as a solo artist, changing her name to Billie Anthony, and after Brent introduced her to his manager, Don Agness, she signed with Columbia Records.
Despite releasing numerous singles during the early ‘50s, only one ever reached the charts, a version of Stuart Hamblen’s “This Ole House,” but even though it peaked at number four, it lost out at that time to a much bigger-selling version by Rosemary Clooney.
During the mid-'50s Billie Anthony regularly toured theatres, including an appearance at the Royal Albert Hall and several with Harry Secombe in the variety show Rocking the Town, so although not having chart success, she enjoyed a fruitful career for a time.
When Peter Elliott returned from national service, they married but divorced several years later. She continued to tour, entertaining the troops in Cyprus, Malta, and North Africa, but eventually retired from show business and became a full-time mother.
In 2001, as part of their reissue series, EMI released the CD ^EMI Presents the Magic of Billie Anthony, which included 33 tracks, 22 of which had been released as singles, including her one and only hit.
Billie Anthony spent the latter part of her life living in the North London area of Hornsey. She suffered a series of strokes and died on the January 5, 1991, at the age of 58.
There is a massive amount of info about this cracking Scottish singer on webpage dedicated to her life, it describes her as “Britains Blonde Bombshell”

THE DESCRIPTION OF SAINT DAMIEN DE VEUSTER (Father Damien) The Patron of People with Leprosy and the Diocese of Honolulu Feast Day: May 10, April 15 (U.S. Episcopal Church)
"Turn all your thoughts and aspirations to heaven. Work hard to secure for yourself a place there for ever."
Damien de Veuster, aka Damien of Moloka'i, was born Jozef 'Jef' de Veuster, on January 3, 1840 in Tremelo, Brabant, Belgium. Josef was the youngest of seven children and fourth son of the Flemish corn merchant Joannes Franciscus ('Frans') De Veuster and his wife Anne-Catherine ('Cato') Wouters. In 1860, he entered the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary (Picpus Fathers), and took the name of Damien.
He would pray everyday before an image of St. Francis Xavier, with the desire to be sent on a mission overseas. Three years later, his prayers were answered, and he was destined to Hawaii. After his ordination at the Honolulu Cathedral (now called Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of Peace where his relics held) in 1864, Father Damien was assigned to North Kohala.
At that time, an epidemic of leprosy affected thousands of Hawaiians; the disease was highly contagious and at that time incurable. In 1865, it was decided that all lepers should be confined to the island of Moloka'i, where the living situation was desperate, with lack of food and medicines.
With great courage and faith, Father Damien volunteered for the lepers' colony, aware that he was signing his own death sentence, since Moloka'i was declared the island of no return.
As soon as he arrived, he build the parish of St. Philomena and began assisting the people. His role was not limited to religious practices; he founded schools, established orphanages, organized working farms, built homes and furniture, dressed the wounds, made coffins, and dug graves.
In a letter to his brother Auguste (Father Pamphile), he wrote: 'I make myself a leper with the lepers, to gain all to Jesus Christ.'
In 1884, Damien inadvertently put his foot into boiling water, but he felt nothing: he suddenly discovered that he had contracted the disease.
Damien died of leprosy on April 15, 1889 at the age of 49 in Kalaupapa, Moloka'i, and was buried under the pandanus tree of the cemetery, where he first slept upon his arrival on Moloka'i.
Father Damien was beatified by St. John Paul II at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart (Koekelberg) in Brussels on June 4, 1995, and canonized by Pope Benedict XVI on October 11, 2009, and declared as the patron of people with leprosy. His major shrine can be found in Leuven, where his bodily relics held, and in Moloka'i, where his hand relics held.

By • Olalekan Fagbade I’m losing my mind, Soldier seeking discharge from Military tells Nigerian Army A 39-year-old female soldier, Lance Corporal Philomena Nnamoko, has decried the continued refusal of the Nigerian Army to discharge her from service. The female soldier, who currently serves in Ilese Barracks, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, said she is psychologically imbalanced and losing her mind because of the Army's refusal. She told The PUNCH on Thursday that she had written a series of letters to authorities seeking voluntary discharge but nothing has been done on her case. She said, “I am gradually losing my mind, I am psychologically imbalanced, and people are saying they want to book me for AWOL. I cannot go through that torture again. I want to leave the service. The pain is too much. I want to be discharged from this job. “The last letter I wrote was on December 11, 2022, and the last batch of those discharged was on July 28, 2023, but my name was not there. Even those who had just written theirs and submitted it in January and February were discharged. “I have written more than 10 letters to the Army asking for a voluntary discharge but I have not been considered. I don’t know what I have done.” Counsel for the soldier, Kayode Oshiyemi, also raised concerns over the safety of his client in the system. He said, “She is currently going through an emotional trauma. She has written three letters since after the first publication by The PUNCH on this matter. But why she is not being discharged is still a mystery to us. “Let them let her go, she wants to leave the service. She comes to my office crying every day. Please, let the Army discharge her freely, she wants out.” When contacted, the Director, Army Public Relations, Brig. Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, said, “The Nigerian Army is not an Army of conscription. There are terms and conditions of service guiding the enlistment or commissioning, period of service and even discharge or retirement of personnel of the Nigerian Army. Once the personnel concerned meets these provisions for discharge or retirement, it will be approved.” The spokesperson for the 81 Division, Nigerian Army, Major Olaniyi Osoba, simply said, “Tell the female soldier to call me. I want to hear from her.” #IamlosingmymindSoldierseekingdischargefromMilitarytellsNigerianArmy
