Hello! I've finally caught up with OLD_FOLKS Home and I absolutely adore your headcanons you have going for everyone. Though I just wanted to ask since we have basically everyone else, does the Mycologist have any role in this universe? I'm just curious if the gang would happen to have another absolutely insane grandpa frienemy.

i've gotten a couple asks about the mycologists, and i always put off answering them bc it's just been weirdly difficult to like artistically design them into this AU for some reason lmao

in my head though, any inscryption character who's not directly associated with any of the four scrybes (barring luke) probably works at the home in some capacity! like rebecha working the front counter and dealing with like 80% of the home's engineering problems; so within that lens the mycologists are basically the home's in-house doctors! and yea i do tend to split them into two characters lol, i kind of like the implied dynamic of one of them directing the other around

(these crusty-ass sketches are the only times i've ever drawn them, they're from like april lmao)

i do have a small scene planned with them for a future chapter (the scrybes do all have quite an amount of medical issues that would need checked up) but generally their role will remain pretty minor, there's already so many characters in every chapter that i don't think my brain could take two more lmao

although technically, you can find the mycologists in spirit right here in chapter 4 :P
