my aunt and uncle came to the us to vote because they didn't trust that their expat ballots would be counted and i really appreciate that they did that and at the same time my uncle seemed really perplexed when I said I was nervous about the results.
#they haven't lived here for 20 years and they haven't experienced what's happened i guess and like#trump is repellant to them and they're excited to vote for kamala but at the same time it's kind of detached for them#it's hard to explain the horrible heavy dead feeling of the day after 2016 election in DC just thinking about it makes my stomach hurt#i don't think we're impacted worse than anywhere else but there is a certain impact being the actual city where it all goes down idk#it's an oppressive vibe#and then i guess yeah right there was that whole attack on the capital lol almost forgot that in that case we *were* impacted more than#other us cities we were literally attacked by violent zealots#people don't understand that there are residential neighborhoods right behind the capital building and all of those places were locked down#and terrified
