Ok, so I kind of need a bit of help. I've been trying to come up with a name for an oc superhero character, but I've been struggling. The character is female and themed are roses and fairies, she also has an interest in gardening, medicine, and fashion. Her powers are full nature mainpulation (so controling plants, the earth, water, wind, (maybe fire,) talking to animals, controlling the seasons, controlling the climate, and mainpulation of biological processes). She's very powerful but primarily uses her powers for healing and defense do not to being a pacifist and not liking fighting. I've struggled to come up with names that aren't just completely basic like Rose or Thorn.

Do you have any ideas? (Only if you want to share tho)

Ah, the struggle of thinking of hero names. I've felt that.

In my experience, the best you can do is work off the powers, the character's own interests, or factor in the design.

Like, Marinette I like to try and keep to her interests. She likes fashion, so doing hero names related to fashion make sense (pavo + vogue = Pavogue, mao + motif = Maotif). She also likes to garden, so plant related names can work too (Marigold, Chelone, Snapdragon, Tiger Lily).

For names related to powers, you can do something related to nature like, Elementia, or she could name herself after iconic mythical figures tied to nature like Gaia. You mentioned Rose, she could be Briar Rose or Thorny Rose. Simplicity can work well with hero names. The most iconic heroes have simple, straight forward names (Superman, Batman, Ironman, Thor, ect.).

For looks, say she wears a largely green costume, she could be Evergreen.

You can also go a simple route of working off her name. Like, Danny just went by Danny Phantom. Just a slight change to his surname and that's it.

At the core, do the name that sounds good to you. That you think is going to be the best fitting for your character. You can be simple and straightforward, you can be punny; and you got options for what to do name wise. Brainstorm away, and do some research if you're struggling. I've looked up different flowers of a certain color, looked up synonyms of words, words in different languages, ect..

This is how I've come up with my hero names.

Going off of the color-coding asks, how do you think things would’ve played out in an AU where Fu gave Marinette canon!Duusu+Peacock (he only lost the Butterfly in this universe) and Adrien canon!Kaalki+Horse in Origins? To this day, I cannot get over him giving out the exact two Miraculous that Hawkmoth is looking for given all of the other choices that are useful and available, especially now that we know all of their powers and kwamis’ personalities. I’m going with Duusu over Mullo for this ask mostly because, while a Mullo and Marinette pairing would be fun, the Mouse’s canon power isn’t nearly as useful as the Peacock’s outside of specific situations (this is the kinda-like-Zoe-concerning-canon anon), especially in this setting where the Peacock’s glaring similarity to the Butterfly’s could actually be used as a fight-fire-with-fire tactic.

So for my sake, using the canon Peafowl's power, sentimonsters are just animated puppets that come to be to play a role, they aren't truly alive and there's no want to be alive. For canon, I will say that rebellion is a thing simply because they were made by a misuser and they want to get as far away from their bad creator as possible as miraculous are meant to be used for good so every sentimonster is made with a want to be and do good but they're being made to do bad and they just don't like it. But made with good intentions, there's nothing to worry about them secretly rebelling against you and they are content to play out their role they were made for.

So, Peafowl's canon power is probably honestly the best combat to misused Butterfly, even over Ladybug. It's power sets up it's user to also stay hidden and to create their own heroes without relying on outside sources, leading to a stalemate that's a game of patience that will largely come down to Gabriel as he's the instigator, the Peafowl user can create their ideal hero, and go about their life and leave the sentimonster to do the job for them, they just need to be vigilant and create a new one if that sentimonster is ever terminated.

And Origin wise, this gives Marinette the least amount of freak out and stress as she's not going out there, but she can make a being that will go out for her. That will do what she can't do. And she gets to live out her life as she normally would without the stress of being a full time hero who needs to show to every akuma fight and always win. And if she helps out, it's on her terms not because there's a demand for her to be there.

So with the Peafowl, Marinette is thriving. She has no stress of being a hero outside the occasional stress of seeing things get close with Sentibug, but Sentibug was made to be the ideal hero and will always figure out what to do. HM has no idea that "Ladybug" is a sentimonster (and Duusu has told her that she needs to stay hidden for as long as possible so HM has no idea he's not facing the real LB).

And things with Duusu are amazing with her. Duusu is emotional and animated, and Marinette is swift to connect with that energy, Duusu will validate Marinette's feelings when she's upset and share that upset with her. And working off symbolism, peacocks are symbols of integrity, so she'll being Marinette's moral compass, but they're also symbols of pride, so she will combat against moments of Marinette's humbleness that damages her. And given her power, Duusu can connect with Marinette in creativity and ingenuity, and she helps Marinette flourish as a leader as they figure out how to make use of others strength to their advantage.

And man, thinking about it, making use of this altered canon power, Marinette as a reverse color coding Peafowl, she could rival Chloe in how perfect this match is color coding wise.

The drawback of this canon power though is that you do lose the partnership and friendship between two heroes. As Pavogue is to stay hidden and secret, Adrien never sees her, and at most just talks with her through calls and texts. Most that he has of her is what he hears through Sentibug when they talk, otherwise she's a mystery. One he has no feelings for as they've never met and he never gets to see what she can do. And at most, there's a mild curiosity, but she's not on his mind really.

As this is a largely Peafowl vs Butterfly fight, and Sentibug is made to be the ideal hero to combat anything Butterfly sends out, Chevalier at most is backup and a precaution. An extra bit of assistance if needed. He's also there to help with the illusion that Sentibug is "Ladybug" and to do what he can to secure that she's never destroyed, though Kaalki does state that it will happen eventually, and HM will then know that he's facing the Peafowl not the Ladybug.

So hero wise, there is no connection between Chevalier and Pavogue, as the latter is to stay hidden and never go out. And working off canon, civilian wise, there is nothing between Adrien and Marinette either. With Duusu's help, Marinette is able to confess to Adrien (as peacocks are all about getting their feelings and intentions across) and Adrien rejects her, letting Marinette move on and they just continue as friendly classmates who aren't really friends.

And Marinette over all is a lot happier for it and with this miraculous, and Adrien is content and a better hero with his kwami and having no crush on "Ladybug" as she is not a real living being. And even IF he did and try to pursue her, think his "love" will make her real, Sentibug is not Marinette. She would have no tolerance for that. She'd take his shades away as a warning that if he can't shape up to be the partner to help her, a different Horse would be chosen.

But that's an if Adrien even falls for Sentibug and is pushy with his romantic interest. Outside that, the two are thriving with their color coded miraculous and respective kwamis. And it takes Gabriel a long time for him to learn that he's not even facing the real Ladybug.
