happy one year anniversary of my friendship with paul bellini!!!!! so wild to think that this all started with me being a nerd in some youtube comments sections and evolved into such a lifechanging meaningful friendship (not to mention some amazing career opportunities!) i'm so honored to be able to call paul bellini my "uncle" and it's so sweet to look back on journal entries from around that time, when i thought "getting noticed in the youtube comments once" was as far as my kids in the hall connection would ever get

#i should send him an email about this bc it's an important day!!#i keep thinking about the first time i met his partner (georges) and i introduced myself to him one-on-one backstage after a show #and i was like ''hi georges! i don't believe i've introduced myself yet. my name's jessamine!''#and georges's eyes went wide and he excitedly went ''YOU'RE jessamine?! oh my god - thank you!!''#and he went on to say that paul has a tendency to be very pessimistic and self deprecating about his work #like saying ''well no one really cares'' about the things he creates. but since paul and i became friends his partner noticed #paul doesn't talk down about himself as much anymore!! like as ''cringy'' as my fandom-ness can seem to me‚ it really helps his confidence!#and apparently even when i'm not around paul still loves to hype me up to his friends lmao #and when one of my toronto friends met paul for the first time while i wasn't in town‚ she opened with ''i'm a friend of jessamine''#and paul immediately was like ok this must be a great person if she's friends with jess #(side note if any of my tumblr mutuals meet paul bellini when i'm not there‚ you better be opening with ''i'm a friend of jessamine''!!)
