एक ऐसे देश में जहां दो-तिहाई आबादी 35 से कम है, का-चिंग को पस्त बॉलीवुड में वापस लाने के लिए 57 वर्षीय अभिनेता की फिल्म - पठान - का सहारा लिया। यह गुरुत्व-विरोधी, तर्क-विरोधी स्टारडम है जिसका शाहरुख खान प्रतिनिधि��्व करते हैं।

हाल ही में, सभी जानकार बॉलीवुड और दक्षिण भारतीय सिनेमा द्वारा अधिग्रहण के बारे में जल्दबाजी में मृत्युलेख लिख रहे थे। लेकिन पठान का 57 करोड़ रुपये का ओपनिंग डे बॉक्स ऑफिस कलेक्शन अब मुंबई के मराठा मंदिर में दिलवाले दुल्हनिया ले जाएंगे (DDLJ) शो के साथ-साथ हॉल ऑफ फेम लोककथाओं में जा रहा है। प्रचार प्रसार के लिए शाहरुख खान ने मीडिया का चक्कर तक नहीं लगाया—बिग बॉस या द कपिल शर्मा शो में नहीं आए। उन्होंने केवल दुबई में इंटरनेशनल लीग टी20 में पठान का ट्रेलर दिखाया और फिल्म की रिलीज से तीन दिन पहले एक बड़ी उत्साही भीड़ के सामने आए।

और एक अप्रत्याशित मोड़ में, इसने कंगना रनौत (जिन्होंने बाद में इस बात पर जोर दिया कि फिल्म को 'भारतीय पठान' कहा जाना चाहिए), अनुपम खेर, अजय देवगन और करण जौहर एक साथ प्रशंसा में आ गए। ठीक उसी तरह जैसे इसने भारतीय शहरों के सिनेमा हॉलों में झूम जो पठान को थिरकने पर मजबूर कर देने वाले नाचने वाले प्रशंसकों को बाहर ला दिया।

पठान की सफलता ने सभी प्रकार के प्रतीकवाद का संकेत दिया

'पठान अच्छा कर रहा है। ऐसी फिल्मों को अच्छा प्रदर्शन करना चाहिए। हम, हिंदी फिल्म उद्योग में, ऐसा महसूस कर रहे थे कि हम पीछे रह गए हैं, 'रणौत ने कहा।

करण जौहर ने अपनी इंस्टाग्राम स्टोरी पर लिखा, 'प्यार हमेशा नफरत पर जीत हासिल करता है।'

यहां तक कि म��्य प्रदेश के गृह मंत्री और भारतीय जनता पार्टी (भाजपा) के नेता नरोत्तम मिश्रा ने कहा कि शाहरुख खान की पठान के खिलाफ अब और विरोध करने का कोई मतलब नहीं है।

सफलता सभी पर विजय पाती है। ऐसा लगता है कि 'राजा वापस आ गया है' चल रही थीम है।

और यही कारण है कि पठान दिप्रिंट के द वीक के न्यूज़मेकर हैं।

पठान की सफलता के लिए अपने प्रशंसकों को शाहरुख का प्रेम पत्र, हालांकि, दिया नहीं गया था। इसके खिलाफ सब कुछ था। फिल्म बॉलीवुड पर मुस्लिम सुपरस्टार्स के बोलबाला और बहिष्कार कॉल के बीच बढ़ती दुश्मनी के समय आती है। बेशरम रंग गाने में दीपिका पादुकोण की ऑरेंज बिकिनी को लेकर विवाद फिल्म रिलीज होने से पहले ही खत्म हो गया। हिंदू कार्यकर्ता समूह पठान पोस्टरों को फाड़ रहे थे। और सबसे महत्वप��र्ण बात यह है कि ठीक एक दशक पहले खान ने चेन्नई एक्सप्रेस के बाद से एक भी हिट फिल्म नहीं बनाई थी।

वास्तव में, फिल्म की सफलता इस बात पर आधारित नहीं लगती है कि यह कितनी अच्छी या बुरी थी। फेसबुक पेज 'बेस्ट ऑफ सिनेमा एंड ओटीटी' के एडमिन ने कहा कि वे शाहरुख खान के प्रशंसक और अच्छे सिनेमा के प्रेमी होने के बीच बंटे हुए .....
