Idea for a story

I was gonna say none but this ask got me thinking abt how not-at-all-explored Gai and Raita's relationship is and now I want to write a missing episode fic with them. maybe a Leo and Misao type episode where they're forced to work together. guys who hate each other.........

I don't think calling him the Least of the jetmen is unpopular, but whatever its popularity that's how I feel abt him

Favorite relationship

I do love him and Ako being cheeky partners in crime, as rare as those moments are. Sir and Madam Not Involved In This Love Triangle (or in Raita's case being briefly involved and correctly exiting that story line) 4eva

Also that fleeting moment, or rather episode, where him and Kaori had to deal with a murder mystery happening on a bus without the other members of the team. that episode is in a goldilocks zone where Raita's crush on Kaori is omitted completely and it occurs right before the love triangle REALLLLLLY starting taking effect in the show, i.e. Kaori being too swept up with Insane Scumbag and Insane Goody Two Shoes to have any more notable bonding with Raita. I say all this as someone who loves the love triangle story line mind

Favorite headcanon

This is headcanon backed a bit by actual canon, see the episode where the team drinks soda that reveals a person's hidden personality and Raita's hidden personality is a playboy douchebag like Gai, but I think deep down Raita is a bit envious of Gai. maybe Raita was rebellious in his youth, wanting be more like those dickhead city boys who got all the girls despite treating said girls like disposable trash, but never had courage to actual leave the family farm. he was (and is) a spectacled nerd after all, so the appeal of becoming a lone wolf must've been enticing. I imagine by the end of the show, especially after the time skip, that envy disappears entirely but the owl remembers what could have been had he left the farm all those years ago
