what if bb2k was sorta reversed w the characters ?? y'know like what if jake got let out later and was the one who survived prison, like what would he do ? would he go see cab as soon as he heard who he was ???would he warm up to buster or turn him down altogether ?? would he take the job at willie's and what would he do when maury tells him about the battle of the bands ? like goddamn !!! probs gonna make a post elaborating but it is just. so interesting thinking about how jake would take the situation- i think he'd be just as distraught as elwood in the beginning though, not knowing what to do but he was the one with the confidence and the overall leader, so i think it might be less of a challenge but still a big challenge nonetheless with the group and touring. would there be a new bluesmobile or would they be crammed in the same car the whole time like at the end of bb2k ???? would there be recurring characters that play into jake's storyline aswell ?? i rlly like to think though that since jake n elwood are both stubborn in their own ways, that jake is pretty sour about it at first, would either have to take a moment to actually think about curtis and the band or he'd go straight into it and not dwell on the emotion until later. there r so many options with this :0

OKAY VAMPIRE AU THE ONE IVE BEEN WANTING TO TALK ABOUT (also i took some inspiration from your fic. like the van. and blazes backstory. i lied i took a bit ill admit. MY PREVIOUS IDEAS WERE KINDA STUPID)

history on Silver (going by venice pre-vampireness), He used to be a normal guy livin out in a small area of town filled to the brim with wilderness with a fellow named Shadow and they lived in relatively peace. They kinda have a familiar bond, Shadow having taken Silver under his wing and its a whole deal. anyway jumping into the juicy part, Basically Shadow gets ambushed by a group of vamps while walking home one night and instincts take over blahblahblah silver ends up escaping with a HUGGEE bite on like u know the part between the thumb and the index finger? ya and bam his life is changed forever!!

time passes and theyre living on scraps, its awful for the two of them UNTIL a hunter trespasses in their property and theyre like. well. gotta do what we gotta do. its only after, shadow then gets the grand idea of 'hey what if i made a living hunting vamps. im tired of constantly being worried when one of us will be vanquished. surely this will go well!' and then decides to tell silver about his plans to run away and even offers silver to hunt with him. safe to say this was an awful idea and they get into a fight which results to turning physical. shadow gets the last word and seemingly spares Silver until going through with his original plan and skewers along.

Shadow's whole deal is basically hunt his own kind in hopes to reverse this curse or at the very least end it in a way that couldn't be distasteful. gotta have just a little bit if dignity before he dies, ya know? as for silver, he tries not to think about him too much. he would be the LEAST of his worries.

After this silver is just going through it like REALLY going through it. imagine having the only other person you have atleast something to relate and bind to just turning their back on you, not very fun! time passes, silver is living in a decrepit old home in some outskirts in a sad, really sad ruined city. (i imagine crisis city to be a little like silent hill, just without the illusions. and some guilt). he doesnt really know what to do with himself, the only time he goes out is to swap some sweets from a local bakery. he and the shop owner are sorta? kinda maybe friends?? hes too wallowed up in his own head to even notice.

this is around when Blaze is traveling the county with a young raccoon, searching for the monsters she sworn to eradicate. this is the part of the story where im like yea this fic its SOMEWHAT CANON for atleast silver, blaze and marine. Theres a whole subplot with shadow, sonic and knuckles. I also wanna add the little fact that Sonic is THE american werewolf in london.

for the blaze star question, while it DOES have some symbolism its very silly that i could either write into a story of sorts or draw something, JUST KNOW IT HAS A PURPOSE! shes also very proud of her scarring (not that she'd admit it though. but she does like to show off in front of silver. just a smidge) and im glad u brought the accent thing because i DO think silver and blaze would have subtle accents, just.. not irish... i cant with the irish accent.. ALSO SILVER STILL HAS HIS TIMID AND ALMOST DRY VOICE its just more hoarse than usual

THE ROLE SWAP AU, the one ive barley mentioned in comparison because the premise is really simple. Its just a "what if silver's plan actually worked at the end of 06" EXCEPT instead of being a prince of sorts, silver's a KNIGHT. (i love satbk so thinking of this i was like. silver. knight design. my god i have a grand idea) and he's basically ordered to protect this rowdy kid who's for some reason the head of the entire kingdom. Who put a child in charge for an entire kingdom? Obviously Silver has some limited information about this so ofc he knows!

In this au, Blaze and Silver are still separated except at the end of 06, they're both arguing over who's doing what because they really just dont want to lose eachother but they also want the future to be saved. fuckery ends up deciding for both of them and is like oh this guy? yea we'll take him.

Blaze still has her fire powers but now she has her memory IN TACT and now shes stranded in the future. for a time being. AND she has to live with the fact she doesnt know where her best friend is? amazing. great even

meanwhile Silver gets transported into the sol dimension, he mets the sickly queen or whateva and is like man. i dont know how i ended up here but im feeling good. little addition, Silver's memory? GONE. all he knows is he showed up one day. and he's stayed ever since. and hes now taking care of a little raccoon who honestly doesnt care about her duties. Marine is just so care-free and usually orders Silver to be her one and only guard to then run around and actually be a kid. despite being a 'princess' or whatever that means.

Silver's all like 'your majesty shouldnt we prep for the upcoming seasonal event' and Marine is like 'okay but what about this cool rock i found' and silvers like 'well i cant argue with that!'

cutting back to blaze. She's still in the future, scouring the fiery lands until she sees something just briefly glint with the lava's aura. checking it out shes like what in the world.. what is that IS THAT A CHAOS EMERALD!? BAM HER TICKET TO FIND WHERE EVER HER COMPANION MAY BE! where ever that is! oh. hm.

ive been skipping around too much BUT I HAVE ALOT OF THINGS TO SAY OKAY but short end of the story, Blaze finds herself ONCE AGAIN stranded after another failed attempt at chaos control except this time its all sandy. and cold. and dark. She briefly opens her eyes before realizing some, most of the sandy texture got in her mouth. While blaze is coughing her guts out, she hears the faintest footsteps creeping up on her and spewing 'oh what cretin is disrupting the kingdom's peace at this hour' yadayadayada. Turning, she sees some medieval knight looking guy. Blaze is all like. oh my god. did i just travel THAT far into the past??? BUT theres something oddly familiar about this rando. as shes looking, the darkness is of course obscuring her vision but she sees things that are TOOO familiar. the quills and how seemingly bright their fur is. MY GODS COULD IT BE

1. Tell us about your current project(s) – what’s it about, how’s progress, what do you love most about it? Oh YAY, I love talking about what I'm writing! Because everything I'm actively invested in right now is fanfic, I'm going to limit myself to that; I'll talk more about my original story the next time I come back to it (which I hope is soon, since I finally ironed out some hurdles). A Shifting Cadence is, of course, the Those Binary Stars: Parenthood Edition fic, which I've stalled a little on but I am still very committed to continuing with it. There's part of me that wishes I'd made the existing chapters into their own fic and then the other things I want to write could just be oneshots in that same AU, but... well, this is the structure I kinda backed myself into, so this is what we're going for. I'm looking forward to the challenge of writing interactions between the three Morse sisters, and Joan and Morse's reactions to their antics. The Sparky imprint fic has been where most of my writing energy is going lately. There's a mishap with an Ancient device and John sorta "imprints on" Elizabeth, and then there's all the lovely sci-fi can't-be-separated tropey goodness. I am most looking forward to some quality awkward moments and flirty banter. Even though I have a really good picture of the plot for this one, I'm struggling with the dialogue and interactions in the smaller moments, which is a complete reversal of what I'm used to and I am flummoxed. This is also shaping up to be a larger project than I really wanted to commit to right now, so it's possible I may work on this piecemeal over the next several months and aim to have it ready for Sparktober... but we'll see. Given that I'm stuck on the above, I'm thinking of pivoting to the Sparky colors fic. I thought it would be interesting to write a collection of scenes each inspired by a color of the rainbow, and since Stargate Atlantis is where my head is at most of the time these days, that's where that inspiration is going to be used. Based on the bits and bobs I have collected/drafted so far, I'm thinking it's probably going to be established relationship, which I am hoping will be a little simpler to write than the getting together aspect of the imprint fic. I have tentative plans for all the colors except yellow; the "latter half" of the rainbow (green/blue/purple) is generally more solid thus far. I also have two Community WIPs: one is a couple chapters of sickfic that reflects stages in the development of Jeff and Annie's relationship, and the other is intended to be a post-S6 "Jeff and Annie get together" masterpiece, but might end up just being a collection of smaller works all set in that same post-canon universe as the mood strikes. So far it pretty much just consists of a slightly drunk Jeff launching into an accidental Winger speech to Duncan about how much he's not-so-secretly in love with Annie. Then there's the Endeavour spy AU, which I'm contemplating breaking out into a collection of mini fics around a theme rather than one very plot-heavy larger fic. And I want to add one final chapter to You Know You Can't Chase the Stars Underwater, where Max comes over for dinner and bonds with Joan over gardening. I think that's most of the major WIPs, at least...

9. Are you more of a drabble or a longfic kind of writer? Pantser or plotter? Do you wish you were the other?

Answered here 15. Which is harder: titles or summaries (or tags)? Tags are the freaking worst. I've gotten much better at summaries, especially if there's a line or two I can quote from and then tack on a one-liner explanation. Titles are really frustrating sometimes, but at least I find them interesting to brainstorm (and worst case, I can default to a song lyric). Tags are hard mostly because I never remember trope names, and that always leads me down a rabbit hole. 19. Is there something you always find yourself repeating in your writing? (favourite verb, something you describe ‘too often’, trope you can’t get enough of?) I don't think you could get your start in fandom in the era I did without the lingering temptation to mention character eye color with unnecessary frequency. I was also perturbed to realize I mentioned a character's mouth being "curiously dry" while trying to talk to their crush across two fics for the same dang ship recently, so, ya know, I must have read that phrase enough that it's now implanted in my brain as the default response. Perhaps most of all, I freaking love writing (and reading!) literal sleeping together as a mechanism for comfort; I'm pretty sure I've gotten at least a chapter of it into every fandom I've written for in the last few years, and even have entire fics centered around it. Tbh I would not mind that being the entirety of my fannish reputation, it's good stuff. 22. Do you reread your old works? How do you feel about them? Answered here 24. Would you say your writing has changed over time? I mean, yes, but I also don't see a huge difference in terms of the years I've been writing/posting fanfiction? My original writing has seen more growth, but that's because I've been doing it way longer. I will say that I am finally learning how to do a little bit of plot, which I consider impressive progress.

I A. Love Hannibal and B. Love in your fics where you keep the elements of Anakin and Obi-Wan having met at some point when Anakin was younger. I would like to pitch part of the reverse Hannibal AU where Obi-Wan is the serial killer who somehow meets this young boy that can see through him and understand him so well. And Obi-Wan is like “This is certainly meant to be mine. He is meant to come with me.” But he can’t fine a reason to kill Shimi/something happens and he loses Anakin. Then years later they meet again when Anakin is on the force and Anakin doesn’t remember but Obi-Wan definitely does. And he isn’t letting him get away again.

but i think the original prompt was a reverse hannibal au where obi-wan is not the killer but he is the psychiatrist, and anakin is the police detective but he's also the killer!!!

i'm sorta still holding onto the idea that if i were to write a very dark fic like this, anakin would be the killer instead of obi-wan, just cause i feel like i'd be too influenced by other people's amazing dark, killer!obi-wan aus!!! plus i do already have pretty bird and the mob boss and i'd want to do something different in more ways!!! for me they switch who is on top and on bottom all the time, so i think they can switch the crazy murdering brain as well <3

but i am obsessed with this they meet when younger idea, but it's because anakin's mother just recently died brutally and anakin is sent to talk to a therapist in training that the police department keeps on hold to talk to traumatized witnesses or victims. and anakin just immediately falls in love with obi-wan he's the most perfect thng he's ever seen his voice is so amazing, he sits really close to anakin on the couch and hugs him and it's great. obi-wan is his. his his his.

but then anakin gets sent out of the city where his obi-wan is and has to go to live very far away with distant relatives

and he hates it here but he does have one life ambition now. get back to obi-wan. and he only knows that obi-wan works sometimes at the police station so he has to become a detective. he has to get back there.

So we’re gonna mainly be focusing my new fic for this, b/c it just got published and dangit I wanna talk about it :P

4. Share a sentence or paragraph from your writing that you’re really proud of (explain why, if you like)

Okay, so this one actually ended up being more difficult than I expected? Mostly because I’ve been working on this fic for so goshdarn long that at some point I have both loved and hated pretty much every part of it lol.

sO instead we’re gonna take this a different direction, and highlight this bit: 

(They’re seven and it’s Stiles’ hands on Scott’s shoulders because Scott’s dad just left, and Scott’s crying because he doesn’t know why, or if his dad’s ever coming back. They’re ten and the roles are reversed because Stiles’ mom has just died, and he does know why and she isn’t coming back. They’re sixteen, and the roles have switched again, because Scott’s filled with an aggression he doesn’t understand, desperately trying to keep the gold from flashing in his eyes.)

It’s not necessarily my favorite passage, or the bit that I think is the best written or anything, but it is the passage where I actually figured out what the main conceit of this fic was going to be -- specifically, the whole memories/flashback thing.

When I first started writing, I was mainly inspired by the fact that so much of the “I’ll do something” scene in Riddled is implicit rather explicit, but you can tell through the acting that both Scott and Stiles know exactly what they’re talking about. And like. I go absolutely feral over crap like that.

So the original concept was a No Nogitsune AU where Stiles gets the bite, but the whole thing is told without ever explicitly stating that -- an original potential title for this thing was actually “Unspoken” 

(And this is actually kind of carried through to the final form of the fic, even though it isn’t the focus. ‘Werewolf/werewolves’ is only said twice in the whole thing, and then only in reference to Scott or to the species in general, and ‘the bite’ is only mentioned once. In fact, the bite itself technically even happens offscreen.)

But anywho, I didn’t have the flashback concept at all until I wrote this particular parenthetical. And I ended up liking it so much that it ended up being one of the main conceits of the fic. So, y’know. I’ll take it.

(And yes, that does mean that every flashback that shows up before this was part of a subsequent edit, and not originally present :P)

11. What do you envy in other writers?

This is gonna sound dumb, but how the heck do you people write just like. Normal scenes. I have a tendency to sink so deep into the mindset/head of my POV character that like... externally conceptualizing what’s actually happening sometimes makes zero sense? People are doing things?? Moving from one place to another?? How do I show that???

Basically anything that isn’t just an overly complicated character study seems fake to me, how do y’all do it :P

20. Tell us the meta about your writing that you really want to ramble to people about (symbolism you’ve included, character or relationship development that you love, hidden references, callbacks or clues for future scenes?)

LOL. So uh. Literally a full 50% (if not more) of this fic is references and callbacks to things that happened previously in canon. But most of that is explicitly stated and therefore not that interesting. However, there’s also a few references/parallels to things that happen post-Riddled in canon:

For example, during the scene in the Stilinskis’ kitchen in the fic, Scott tells Stiles that he needs to be honest with him about how bad it’s getting. This is a sorta slant parallel to Insatiable, where -- during a similar patented Scott Crouch Moment -- Scott tells Stiles that he needs to tell him the truth about how much pain he’s in.

Another smaller example of this is the fact that in the fic Stiles remembers waking up post-bite with Scott’s jacket under his head, which also happens after Stiles faints at the end of The Divine Move.

OH, also, in this fic Scott bites Stiles on the right upper arm, which is the same place Scott bites the Nogitsune in The Divine Move. Plus, the bite happening concurrently w/ Stiles’ memory of Scott’s roar is kinda my version of the roar in De-Void. 

Not that everything I just mentioned was explicitly planned to be a parallel, mind you. But I def leaned into it. 

...Basically one of my favorites bits in au’s (whether we’re talking about fanfic au’s, retellings/reboots, and actual sci-fi alternate universe), is the concept that -- no matter how different things are or how the timeline’s been changed -- some things are going to remain the same. This was sorta my version of that. 

24. Would you say your writing has changed over time?

Hell yes lol. Like seriously, if you compare my first-ever published fic to this one, there’s... kinda a world of difference.

At the very least I’ve learned not to abruptly jump between POV’s during a single section of a story :P

Fics I sorta want to write, sorta don’t want to, probably never will (a non-exhaustive list)

A:tla/LoK

Of the inequality of palindromes

What it is : A canon divergence in which Noatak and Tarrlok leave together, build the Equalists much earlier, and the world once more descends into war. Avatar Aang is killed, Equalists occupy most of Earth Kingdom and spread the mercy of the Spirits-sent brothers who will make all equal, and a young Korra is raised behind the walls of the Northern Water Tribe. Also Jet is here, somehow, and would probably be one of the PoV characters, maybe along with Tarrlok ?

Why I want to write it : Lots of potential here for a lot of stuff, I’ve always loved Tarrlok and Noatak’s story, I already made a few sketches after the inciting dream and I kind of like what this all looks like. Lots of situations, lots of characters, lots of trauma. I feel like it could work with a non-chronological storytelling - or at least less chronological than A viper-lizard’s tales - and I’m curious to see how I would go about structuring that.

Why I don’t want to : The Timeline Is Fucked !!! I seriously have no idea what would be going on with the dates and ages of most characters and just trying to figure out and make sense of that stuff is killing me. Also, it would be Long, and Viper-lizard will probably have exhausted me by the time I finish it, so starting another long fic would be. HHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Ace Attorney

I will fill your thermos with Worcester sauce or so help me

What it is : A canon divergence in which bratty prosecutor Miles Edgeworth and Diego “I think I am a good person but I’m barely there” Armando somehow join forces to take down Dahlia. They’re both douchebags who despise each other. It’s a great collaboration. They meet one young and innocent Phoenix Wright at the legal library and it’s all downhill from there.

Why I want to write it : Douchebag duo !! Reluctantly working together !! I want these two to interact and to barely resist kicking each other in the shins like the little brats they are. And well, I’ve already made Content(TM) for this, so I’d say it speaks to how much I like the idea. There is a scenario somewhere in my mind and in the sketches I did.

Why I don’t want to : I’m barely in this fandom anymore (if I ever really was) and I don’t like research. What the fuck is a legalese and do I need to know it to write about lawyers ? Whatever the answer may be, I’ll have to look shit up, and it will take time, and I’ll get distracted, and the fic will never write itself.

Hannibal (NBC)

Ode au pêcheur (long ver.)

What it is : A role-reversal AU, in which Hannibal is not a cannibal but still a psychiatrist, and Will is a teacher and profiler with a, uh, taste for uncommon meats. They still meet during the Shrike case, which is what the current Ode au pêcheur is about, and this would be the following events.

Why I want to write it : For one, I already wrote a short piece for this verse, so jot that down. But also I want to explore the change in dynamics, and also Hannibal being completely fucked up but in a different way. And writing Will as this kind of mysterious and fascinating being through Hannibal’s eyes... yeah, that’d be good.

Why I don’t want to : I spent hours reading the scripts, deciding what I would and would not keep, how to phrase it, for a 878 words standalone. I do Not want to know what I’d do with a long fic.

Six Sibylline Books (oracles willfully blind)

What it is : A Psycho Pass AU, with Will as an Enforcer specializing in profiling, having been declared a Latent Criminal since he was 6, because of his high empathy. He lives in fear of the day his Coefficient will reach 300. Hannibal is, of course, criminally asymptomatic, and working as a therapist for the government.

Why I want to write it : Let’s be honest, these two in the Sibyl System would be a fucking mess, and I for one am here for it. Mostly I want to see Will struggle with his place in this world, and watch what his Becoming would be like. Hannibal as a worse version of Makishima who just does shit for fun is terrible too, I love it. He probably wouldn’t even try to do a revolution and pretend to help people, the asshole.

Why I don’t want to : I Would Die. Two very complicated shows with literary references and philosophy mixed in just about every sentence, and a very well-rounded world as the setting ? Instant death. Or a very slow one, induced by the constant need to reference every little detail.

Kekkai Sensen

Fallen Hellsalem

What it is : A noir AU in which Daniel Law is a hardboiled detective who has been looking for answers regarding the disappearance of his younger twin brother for the past three years. A two-parters (by which I mean, two fics of consequent length, or a Huge fic with two very long main arcs), with the first case introducing the world through Steven A Starphase being accused of murder and needing Daniel’s help to find the real culprit. Turns out he didn’t do This murder but is also a crime lord involved in the disappearance of many other people, reigniting Daniel’s quest for answers. The second case is actually much more focused on the actual investigation surrounding Marcus’ disappearance, with Daniel gaining an apprentice in the person of Leonardo Watch, and learning to let go of the past a little.

Why I want to write it : I made a 5 page comic of the very first scene in 20 days. I just really like the noir aesthetics, and also Daniel. I have something resembling the beginning of an actual plot. I love Daniel. Did I mention I love Daniel ? It would be very interesting to have to actually think things in advance and build a case that makes sense.

Why I don’t want to : It would be so much work !! Two parts ?? Two fics for one story ? Or even just a Mega Fic - I would just fucking die. Also, while having to figure out how to build a case that makes sense is a fine challenge, it’s also a Lot of work, especially when I’m more the type of writer to figure stuff out as it comes, or to plan for Big Emotional moments and then turn the plot around it so that it all works organically. I’m not really a planner of plots, more of scenes. Plots kinda just happen. And that doesn’t fly for detective stories if you want it to be decent.

Psycho Pass

The blind Sibylla (long ver.)

What it is : A canon divergence directly following the events of The blind Sibylla (in which Akane shot Makishima during episode 11). Makishima didn’t die but is injured, still somehow escapes ; meanwhile Akane is kind of scouted by Sibyl because she shot a guy with the intention to kill him and her Crime Coefficient didn’t rise, and she considers the offer. Kogami gets a phone call that leaves him sick to his stomach, and he too has to make a choice.

Why I want to write it : I mean, I already wrote two short chapters on impulse, so it’s more of “why I want to continue it”. Anyway the answer is that I’ve got ideas and I want to see where they go. Also if I can get Kagari and Choe Gu Sung to stay alive that would be swell.

Why I don’t want to : Psycho Pass Is Complicated. The worldbuilding is on point, but that also means fucking it up is incredibly easy. Also the literary references. It would be a lot more work than I am used to putting into my writing and I really don’t feel like memorizing the wiki and constantly rewatching the series just to get everything as accurate as possible.

Reborn

The illusion of love and the reality of hate

What it is : A TYL 186918 story about Hibari and Mukuro navigating their hate-relationship and trying to make it work. Especially after Mukuro was thought to have been killed by Byakuran. Would involve Mukuro asking Ryohei for advice because he is literally the only person in a stable relationship who has any idea what he’s doing, and also he knows what Hibari is like. A contract is drafted. I’m not saying Mukuro and Hibari get hate-married but. They get hate-married. Kind of.

Why I want to write it : I’ve wanted to explore a full-blown, healthy blackrom for a while now, and these two are one of my oldest ships, and also one I’ve written a lot for in the past. Love me a good mix of fucked up shit and humor. And boy would there be fucked up shit between these two.

Why I don’t want to : Two words : Sex Scenes. I can’t imagine this story (or this relationship, for that matter) without sex, as it would be one of the most primal way they have of communicating with each other, along with fighting. Also I barely remember the TYL arc (better than the later ones, but not by much) so I’d have to look that up again, and probably more (likely re-reading the whole thing), but that’s a minor issue.

What it is : An early canon divergence in which Ricardo gets lost in the panic of the five days of blood and is believed to be dead, while Walter meets Calogero at Castor Arte and decides to follow him around out of a mutual hatred of the Scaggs. Anyway Ricardo joins the Red Ravens because he believes he was abandoned and can’t trust the mafia anymore, while Walter more or less gets adopted by Calogero and becomes Laura’s right hand.

Why I want to write it : I just. I love this manga so goddamn much,,,,,,, Also Walter and Ricardo are very similar while being pretty different, and the changes in dynamics a switch would make are. Pretty darn interesting. I made sketches. I want to see what would stay the same and what would go differently. I want to send more Red Raven content into this world.

Why I don’t want to : This fandom is comprised of three people and a crow, and I know myself well enough to be certain I’ll have trouble staying motivated in these conditions. Also this would be Long, I can feel it. And I don’t really have a scenario planned, so that’s that.

Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle

What it is : A canon divergence (?) in which Fai (the dead one, not our Fye) is a dream-walker and meets child Kurogane a few times this way. At one point, Kurogane promises to find Fai and Yui and to help them, no matter what. Later, the then grown Kurogane is eternally confused by Fye’s presence for one more reason.

Why I want to write it : It’s an old headcanon of mine that Fai is a dream-walker, I figured I might as well do something with it. Also I want to write this kid !! Give him some life !! And of course the KuroFye angst might just triple from this. Also, the truth is that I started this one (in January 2018...), and it looks promising. I already have a structure for the first arc, so that’s neat.

Why I don’t want to : For one, it would be Long, and as mentioned earlier in this post, I don’t think I’d have the strength to go through this again. For two, TRC is a cool story that I like a lot, but I hardly think about it anymore most of the time.

Whispers under my skin

What it is : A canon divergence in which Cedric (still in his kind librarian skin) seduces Matt as a way to get to Will, and it backfires horribly when he realizes he is loved by this human and Phobos will never love him like that, and he will never get what he really wants. So at the final battle in Meridian, instead of going full Super Saiyan Lizard, he betrays Phobos. He gets badly injured, but he also gains a half-freedom as thanks from Kandrakar, in the way of a human life (plus some minor magic if the girls allow him to) and a duty to help the Guardians in their mission.

Why I want to write it : Like many of my dream-inspired things, it is very weird, and for once I think it’s a very good thing. Yes I had a dream in which Matt and Cedric had A Thing, no don’t ask me how that happened I don’t control my brain. Anyway, I’ve always liked Cedric and I want to explore his character, and the dynamics he could form with the girls in such different circumstances. Also, I’d get to play around with the magic system, which is very cool.

Why I don’t want to : I re-read my w.i.t.c.h. comics maybe once every two years, and while some of them still make me cry (why did you have to die you filthy lizard man), it’s probably not enough of a basis to start a Long Fic. Also it would be Long and I am tired. And ! I don’t have nearly enough references at home and that means I’d have to look shit up, and the wiki is Not Great, from what I’ve seen.

Danganronpa:

A Farewell to All Futures, Yukari - Complete, Not Rated, Oneshot. One of them in theory belonged to the chosen ones, but still wondered if his life had any meaning.

The other one had a chance to become the chosen one, but still wondered if his decision was right. Basically the first, very brief meeting of Komaeda and Hinata before the world went completely insane, because we probably won't get to see it in the anime.

Bad Poetry of a Lopsided Heart, IcicleWieldingManaic - WIP, T. Komaeda likes to write letters that he never sends. However, one time Hinata accidentally receives one addressed to himself. He also feels a responsibility to watch over Komaeda after the events of the first trial. You know, just so nobody else gets killed.It's a good thing Hinata doesn't know who the letter's from, huh? Komaeda/Hinata, slow burn.

And after waiting for years for his life to change, he can’t contain his excitement as he finds himself threatened by a knife, held by a brown-haired stranger on the run. Death Note:

A Forgotten Encounter, Alex Prosper - Complete, T. Light is faced with his first murder case at age nine after meeting a strange, hooded teenager in Harajuku. Dupin becomes the one special thing in his childhood, long forgotten. This is L and Light's true first meeting, but they will never know it.

Genius is a Curse, Bloodshot Eyes - WIP, T. If Light had never touched the Death Note, would he ever have found an escape from the depression and boredom that plagued him? Would he have had a future at all? Undertones of Light/L, dark themes.

Leave the Light On, Ne Quittez Pas - Complete, T. Light had dealt with admirers before, but nothing like this. It's Raining Men, Hallelujah, Asuka Kureru - Complete, Oneshot, T. Conan already has some kind of corpse magnet power, but when Heiji is in his orbit the corpses actively come to them. From above. Witness.

D. Grayman:

Fair Play, liketolaugh - WIP, T.  Cross hated his master. Really. Allen fucking Walker was the most infuriatingly mysterious human being on the planet - but even Cross couldn't say Allen had done a bad job looking after him. Oneshot series.

vertigo, hurryup - WIP, Mature. Los Angeles, 1951. Allen Walker, a private eye of cult celebrity status, has been running from his past for a long time. Howard Link, an LAPD cop rising quickly through the ranks, finds himself caught between that which is lawful and that which is right.

As Sunset Boulevard crackles with caged heat, the thread of their investigations meet. With them, corruption, obsession, and celebrity meet in a game of chess that holds the entire city as its hostage.

The descent into hell is easy. All it takes is a little push.

Durarara:

If We Ever Meet Again, Shitsuren69 - Complete, T. AU. Mikado thought that the biggest event in his life was when the love of his life ran off with his best friend. This was, of course, before Celty invited him to Ikebukuro. Eventual Shizuo/Mikado. Prequel to Operator.

Comments: I just really love the way this one was written. From Mikado getting along with Walker and Erika to the falling out in the beginning with Kida and Anri. It makes when they meet again all the more interesting! And there's this one scene that will always stay in my mind - Mikado jumping off the roof, fully expecting Shizuo to catch him. I know, I know, what is the likelihood of something like that happening in real life, right? Still, I got a kick out of reading Izaya's reactions in this story. In addition, this story gives me the same vibe as the series - it's about different forms of love.

Thirty-Two Steps, Nanimonaimono - Complete, Oneshot, T. He guesses it's time to make Anri fall in love with Mikado like she should've from the start. As he opened his mouth, Masaomi fought the ridiculous, overpowering urge to stop and shout that he's been in love too long for this. Kida/Mikado.

Final Fantasy 7:

Beloved, Sinnatious - Complete, Mature. It all starts when Cloud tries to leave during the middle of a Loveless performance. Genesis/Cloud. Tifa/Cloud.

Dishonorable Discharge, icynovas - Complete, T. Seeking a new career, infantryman Cloud Strife attempts to get fired from ShinRa.

Off the Line, esama - WIP, T.  In which Cloud gets a Virtual Reality Dream Console – ShinRa's latest in virtual reality technology. Aaand everything pretty much goes downhill from there. Vincent/Cloud.

The Fifth Act, Sinnatious - Complete, T. Cloud has an accident with a Time materia. There are people to save, and for that, some people need to die. 

Comments: This is a pretty well-known story in the FFVII fandom, and let me tell ya, it’s worth every second of the read. Even if you haven’t played the game, this sort of storytelling will drag you in and keep your attention. You’ll be left wanting more!

My Hero Academia:

but you gotta get up at least once more, simkjrs - WIP, T. Izuku’s never run into this problem before with anyone else, but it’s still not much of a problem. “Oh, that’s alright,” he says. “I don’t have a Quirk.”

Tsukauchi stares incredulously at him, and then looks at the iron bar that Izuku is currently straightening with his hands.

Midoriya Izuku does not let his lack of a Quirk prevent him from being strong.Also known as that one AU where Izuku follows the ridiculous training regimen of Saitama from One Punch Man and becomes stronger than anyone ever imagined he could be.

First Impressions (Seventeen Variations), jackdawq - Complete, T, Oneshot.  It sucks to be the new transfer kid. Right?

Reversing Arcana, Sinnatious - Complete, T.  P3, P4. Six months after Souji leaves Inaba, he wakes up to his house on fire. The Investigation Team are the only ones who know he survived. But that's only the beginning of their troubles.

Ten Steps, chisotahn - Complete, T. Written for a prompt over at badbadbathhouse. "Souji never told anyone about being able to enter the TV. So, even though Chie and onward somehow ended up with Souji, Yosuke never wound up knowing about the shadow world. For months on end, Souji has been keeping his otherworldly adventures a secret from his predictably ignorant (yet suspicious) boy [best] friend (though he's still your Magician).

Comments: As a thriller/horror story, this one is damn good. It answers one of the glaring questions from the game: what happens to the bodies of those who are playing the game?

Perfect, Infamousplot - Complete, Oneshot, T. One month. That was all the time he gave Kitanji: four weeks, 28 days- give or take a few. Well, now he's down to three weeks. A whole week wasted. Because SOMEBODY, though he won't name any names -Neku Sakuraba -, just won't freaking DIE! Now, he's sprinting through the RG with a gun, a psycho on his tail, and only one goal in mind: Kill the proxy. Now.

The Red Queen series, Kay (sincere) - Complete, T, unfolds in four parts.  In which someone who has been too long alone finally reaches out, building a bridge between his world and another's. It has been decades in coming, and it isn't easy, but the more difficult the ordeal, the greater the reward -- just like in any Game.

Well, if it’s him… then it would surely be one filled with hope.(Or: that fic where Hide wakes up in the past just in time to prevent the Tragedy that was Kaneki Ken's life... by taking it on himself.

Of course, it doesn't have to be a Tragedy.)
