Was watching parasyte with my mom, we finished today, then I recommended Tokyo ghoul or Attack on Titan, then, i realized that all the three had a male protagonist that starts as human, becomes the human eating monster, hates the monsters despite being one of them, starting understanding the monster, question his own humanity, accepts that now that's who they are.

If i had a nickel for every time a male protagonist becomes a human eating monster I would have 3 nickel, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened thrice.

Parasyte

Just saw the trailer for the upcoming Netflix series Parasyte: The Gray. At this point I'm passing on it. There's too much body horror and gore for me.

HOWEVER.

The anime it's based on, Parasyte, is fantastic! (I presume it's based on a manga.) I was initially reluctant because it's yet another "high school kid gets powers and fights enemies" thing. It works here due to relationship between protagonist Shinichi and his literal right-hand man Migi.

There's lots and lots of body horror, violence, and gore. It doesn't bother me as much when it's animated.

So I'm enthusiastically recommending the anime series to everyone. If you try the Nexflix series next month, lmk what you think.
