just played this UQuiz which gives you a fun stereotypical straight person to be. and forces you to be homophobic.
I don't love the way people on site talk about straight or cis ppl as being fundamentally unimprovably homo/transphobic. it just isn't true of the people I've met.
It's essentialism and it's therefore wrong.
#im not cis or staight#but i used to be sorta#and i didn't magically stop being homophobic when I questioned my identity#parallel to the idea that queer people can't be queerphobic. but not necessarily. just like#these ideas are labeled as 'straight' ideas so you as a queer person don't have to worry about challenging your own queerphobia#also the jokes ppl make abt cis ppl being like 'what do you want me to do - transition?' and them saying 'actually yes you should'#funny once but when you make the same joke every time and talk about how transitioning is a morally correct thing for someone to do.#you are not joking you are just being unreasonable#also on this subject. that post abt someone jokingly calling their friend homophobic and then mocking her for being concerned that she was#like what did you want her to do. you can't ask people to take it seriously then mock them when they do.#^ the post that's like 'she went into the home of phobia'
