anon, i'm afraid you asked the wrong person! my respiratory condition is so poor by default i don't even hang around smokers, but i will do my best to reply

i also go back and forth with wizards smoking muggle cigarettes, i like to think they'd have a magical version the same way they have magical alcohol, but for this i'm speaking about the regular ones (the magical version as i imagine would have magical herbs instead of or besides tobacco and the smoke comes out in funny colors and density)

might be an unpopular opinion, but madam rosmerta! she thought it would fit her image as a barkeeper and then it became a problem. it could also be rita skeeter, who now has a spending problem with those fancy holders and herbal flavors

remus was my first thought, assuming there was a lot of smoking in the gryffindor tower during the 70s, but i'm going with percy weasley the ministry employee during the second war (he picked it from crouch, who would've thought), he would do a lot of smoke breaks with his coworkers and while he hated the taste of it he didn't want to miss the conversation about work, but then with the war getting worse he'd an urge to smoke on his own, and then in the aftermath he started to pick a cigarette because he was idle and needed something to do with his hands and mouth
