re: my previous complaining I'm just saying, playing as an SD rook it is really weird that nobody has an issue with Rook (or even Neve, who is a mage which in combination to the rest of the world has always translated as magister, and there could've been a really interesting plot point w/ that considering even as a mage Neve has no power in Tevinter bc she's 'just' a Laetan, and Red has even less being a Soporati) being from a place that's routinely demonized by everyone else around them, justified or otherwise. Red faces no roadblocks based on people's preconceptions abt who she is because she's from Tevinter, especially with the Veil Jumpers. You got a little bit of it w/ the First Warden, but that's abt it.
Like is it not strange that the VJs like Strife, Irelin, and Bellara, who are all Dalish and the faction itself is intrinsically tied to Dalish culture, just instantly accept it when someone from Tevinter (and I get they're not really accounting for race, but a Tevene human on top of it) comes to Arlathan claiming to be spearheading the fight against Elgar'nan and Ghilan'nain? Not that fantasy racism is good or anything and I get it's the end of the world and there's bigger problems, but Tevinter's always had this evil boogeyman reputation (even if they often deserve it) and 'Vints have routinely in the past been demonized for like. happening to exist while minding their own business (see: Dorian, even Krem a little). Where's that sense that Red can't get anywhere bc she's a Scary Evil Vint? Emmrich faces more blowback for being a necromancer than Red does for being Tevene.
