If I had nickel for every time I was in a fandom where all the main characters, except for one, die very young and tragically and the one that survives has to cope with the immense loss and guilt that comes with such a devastating event I'd have three nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened thrice

#sorry for butchering the meme but hear me out #in the marauders fandom Remus survives James Lily and Peter (or so he thinks for 12 years)#then in Julie and the Phantoms it's Bobby who loses his three best friends suddenly in one night #and then there's Marius in Les Miserables who loses every single one of his friends #there's probably a reason why I love characters who are already doomed from the start #maybe it's because my mum read me Greek myths before bed instead of fairytales as a kid #and those stories hardly have a happy ending #or maybe there's an actual psychological explanation that a therapist could provide me lol #jfleamont rambles
