I love that every video game about being a border worker is low-key like "yeah this is fun bc you're a nerd and love paperwork but uh. you are actively killing ppl and are contributing to the fall of society. btw"

#shut up az #like papers please was very VERY unsubtle but it was framed under the narrative of being an authoritarian east European country #so like if you're not already critical of western politics then you would be like ha ha those crazy communists #and contraband police is also set in a narrative like that however while papers please was like this is unfair on an individual level #or like on a conspiracy level where you're stopping ppl who want to rebel against the unfair regime which while meaningful doesn't mean muc #to the average American who is like violence as a form of protests is bad except when its me against the elites #meanwhile contraband police is just like. this guy has an expired license. if you don't let him through thousands will die tomorrow
