dissertation title planning (I know what I'm doing (<- lying))
#in case it isn't clear the format I want to go for is 'Quote': Body#I quite like 'Because Things Are Not Afraid': The Subjectivity of Fear in the Haunting of Hill House#or 'Without Concession to Humanity': Affective Landscapes and Feeling Objects in Shirley Jackson's Fictions of Home#but I also like the idea of the possessive environment and maintaining the emphasis on landscape and subject-object relations#shirley jackson#the haunting of hill house#my problem is one of categorisation in that the books I'm focusing on (primarily THOHH secondarily WHALITC and her autobio stuff)#do not fit well into a defined chronological and thematic category.
