don't mind me just watching my otp dancing while they're best friends who won't admit they're best friends but who know each other better than they know themselves and have been flirting around each other for at least a year and all their friends know they're the most important part of each other's lives and they have to keep it professional and they're both such introspective and intelligent people but for some reason neither of them can see that what they're feeling isn't exactly. platonic. until it literally comes down to the wire and they're forced to be closer than they've ever been before for the sake of an undercover case, at which time it's hugely inconvenient because she's dating someone, and so they keep dancing around each other exchanging Looks™️ like it's the pining olympics, until finally, finally she says something and then it's just explosions and honesty and unabashed love and it's like they've never been anything else except together. and neither of them can really decide when the moment was that they fell because it was more of an inevitable journey, like two parallel lines just barely off kilter that just keep going and going, closer and closer until one moment they weren't and the next nanosecond they are, and now there's nowhere left to go except forward, together.
