Hey Revlis!

For your LMK Morro design, is he getting more comfortable not wearing make-up with his cursed soul marks as time goes by?

Also, was/is he afraid of water with the whole Ninjago lore with ghosts poofing when in contact with it?

Ahaha see the reason for his cursed marking stuff is actually that I hate drawing them because they’re impossible to draw consistently in the LMK style, but I keep writing myself into a corner with situations where he has to go around without any concealer on to cover them up unfortunately.

So Morro is always going to hate having those markings, they’re very much not comfortable with practically displaying to the world “Hey, I was a spirit of the damned, look at me”. Thus, after the whole season 3 stuff that happens, they take to carrying around concealer with them everywhere as well as holding onto some spares.

Morro. Doesn’t like showing his markings. And I hate drawing them because they’re so hard to illustrate in a consistent manner.

Although!! At the start of season 4 (don’t worry, no spoilers for anything in canon), we can see that—well I might actually keep this bit to myself for now, only because it makes me kick my feet gleefully at the thought. Let’s just say the marks go through some development for reasons that are connected to my frustrations with drawing the markings and also a former scrapped idea I had for season 4 I wanted to work in. So. Hehehe. Look forward to the season 4 design I’m working on!!

Yup! Morro is definitely afraid of large bodies of water. He’s able to like, come into contact with it in a controlled environment without freaking out, but in terms of the ocean specifically he stays away from it. And unexpected contact with water (like if you dumped a bucket of water on him) would get him mildly freaked out, angry, and very tense.

Near-drowning situations (I’m looking at you, scene-where-everyone-almost-drowned-in-season-3-when-the-airship-crashed-into-the-ocean) would cause him to have a panic attack. Morro also hates caves and enclosed spaces! Especially humid enclosed spaces, like uncomfortably hot. In terms of a normal enclosed space, he’s fine-ish, depending on how tight it is. When there’s other people there, he isn’t affected at all. But super warm, close-quarters areas get him freaked out no matter how many people are there. It reminds them too much of the cave they died in and they hate that.

Lol sorry went and dived into Morro’s trauma there, didn’t mean to get so deep! Anyways, hope this helps!

This response has been a long time coming, but this post is the straw that broke the camel's back.

Bird, you are a coward and you know it. You know why your work on Swifthawk’s Chance has taken a nosedive and why you resent it now. You know the real reason you are leaving Tumblr and running to other platforms.

To Bird’s audience: Do you know why Bird hates Swifthawk’s Chance? It’s because they can’t take accountability for their actions. SC reminds them of how they have only continued to double down on the lies. Comfortably continuing to bullshit you all for their own gain.

They resent SC because of its connection to the person they hurt and abandoned, Toffee (I won’t be revealing their real name for safety reasons). They continue to benefit from the work Toffee did, which included brainstorming ideas, writing scripts, making storyboards, designing characters, refining sketches, some lineart, and coloring. The scene where Goldenflower talks to Swifthawk before he goes to Tigerclan? You can thank Toffee for that.

How did Bird repay this work? They didn’t credit Toffee. Instead, Bird betrayed them, hurt them, sided with their stalkers, and made a callout post to get them harassed, all for things that they themselves also did. Not to mention what their partner, Morro, aka Talkingtalltales, did to them. Morro spread lies and fakeclaimed Toffee’s mental illnesses and trauma, even to Toffee’s mother. Morro taunted them for months, including drawing their OC Vulture holding a severed limb of Mutt, who was Toffee’s character they created with Bird for SC, and using it as a profile picture.

Note, this is NOT an invitation to harass Bird. If you read this and your takeaway is "we need to cancel Bird and harass them," then you're no better than them. They have been given so many chances to show they actually regret what they did by contacting Toffee’s friends or Toffee themselves. But they haven’t. Toffee deserves better.

There is hopes in Bird coming clean with genuine honesty without blaming Toffee and other people for their own actions. But with how long it has been and how they’ve doubled down, we don’t expect much at this point. Bird is 31 years old, they aren't a young adult learning right from wrong. They've had the time to change.

To Bird: Of course you’re going to run away like a guilty teenager instead of addressing the hurt you’ve caused like an adult. Of course you’re going to treat your audience like children who will fall for your lies and two-facedness. You were given the chance to fix your mistakes but instead you hid from what you did to Toffee, your own friend. SC had so much potential, and could have been amazing, but instead you sacrificed that to appeal to toxic friends. Are you running now because you feel shame? Do you feel guilty for the harm you brought to someone you called your friend? You still have the chance to fix things, but it's up to you to do that. YOU have always had the power and choice in this situation.

Something I don’t think you realize is the extent of the creative impact you had on Toffee. You just abandoned your and Toffee’s once shared characters such as Asher, who blatantly started off as a dog version of Swifthawk. You would explore complex topics in this story, just to ultimately wash your hands of it and appease Morro. The juxtaposition of Toffee keeping your ideas and OCs in their story, treating them with respect, while you spit on Toffee’s ideas and OCs. Drawing mutt’s limb in a page to be petty, despite KNOWING full well how much Mutt, SC, and your friendship meant to them. They struggled so much being forced to write Asher for you, to continue this story without their co-author, since Asher and your other ideas were too important to just remove. Do you still think about them and your shared story? Or was Toffee that easy to forget?

Not to mention the art imbalance. Toffee would draw so much for you. Yet when you put it all together, all you really drew for them was unpolished designs and porn. This is despite you begging Toffee to talk about their story over your own projects, admitting to dreaming about it, begging to rp, and making things for it unprompted. You were invested and cared about it but can just abandon all of that if it means saving face.

But sure, have fun projecting your resentment and puritan guilt onto the wrong things. Just ignore the creative impact you had on Toffee and undermine why your involvement in their story meant a lot to them. All while you deny their existence, THEIR involvement and the help they were happy to give without much in return simply because they cared.

Where do you think being manipulative and lying is going to get you in life? You said it yourself that messing up is a part of friendships, that real friends are the ones that call you out on things. It says a lot about you and your circles that they’re the opposite of this. You’ve fallen into people-pleasing, self-loathing, overworking yourself, and rushing SC just to have something to post, but your “friends” are silent.

That was what Toffee was trying to do with the post. Hold you accountable because they wanted to see you improve. Defending themselves because YOU were willing to slander them and condemn them to suicide to keep your reputation and appease your aggressive partner. The fact they still want to keep their door open to you baffles me.

Tell me, do you feel any guilt at all? Do you lay awake at night regretting causing Toffee harm? Did you ever care about Toffee at all? You would’ve hated being put in the position you have put Toffee in. But because it’s not you, who cares, right? Who cares about the pain you caused, the MANY people you’ve lied to, and your toxic habits that go unchallenged. You clearly don’t care about Toffee, though. Even though they still want to see the good in you, you haven’t shown anything worthy of that hope in you.”

I won't pretend that Toffee didn't do anything wrong in this situation. Their initial response, spamming messages and emails, only made things worse and stressed you out. However, this hardly compares to the torment they received in turn.

As their friend, it’s painful seeing how much they were forced to change, to adapt to the torture you put them through. They have suffered for well over a year now, enduring worsening physical AND mental health. Losing their trust in people and losing hope for the future due to how your betrayal proved that life can’t go well for them. How could they believe otherwise when you were supposed to be the one person that didn’t betray them, when you promised not to, but you did anyway. I can only hope that they can find a way out of the pit you pushed them into. And that you can have the basic human decency of acknowledging what you’ve done.

EDIT: btw petty insults and completely missing the point of why what Bird has done is cruel isn’t doing what you’re think it’s going to do. Instead of enabling Bird, handle it like an adult, read the posts and hold Bird accountable. Acting like a teenager will do nothing but reflect badly on Bird further and just proves the point that people like you only enable their behavior and don’t challenge it. I will not be saying anything else about this unless Bird themselves bothers to reflect and recognize why in a way that matters, and if they don’t or just respond to it with more deflection, that’s on them. But again, I’m not expecting much, and I don’t need to clarify why.

I'm already very inactive on here, but from now on, I'll only be uploading pages to Patreon. Pages that would be uploaded to this blog will be made PUBLIC on Patreon that given day, so you DO NOT NEED TO PAY.

That being said, I truly hate Swifthawk's Chance, so I'm not even sure if I'll be able to finish it. I'm trying to, but it's very difficult to force myself to make pages for a project I feel nothing but resentment for. I want to step away from it for a bit, but if I do, I don't know if I'll ever pick it back up again.

That said, I have a separate comic that will go public on Patreon and ComicFury on Tuesday. It's a Pokémon comic and not a cat comic, but it's what I'm enjoying working on right now.

Morrotober Overview

October is over and morrotober is done! I actually made it all the way through without missing a single day (I swapped 2 days because I have a terrible concept of time but that dosent count). I'm so proud of myself. I've tried an October drawing challenge year after year but I always gave up and burned out after the first week so this is a huge accomplishment.

I'm not quite sure what made this year different but there are a few things I think might have helped:

Morro is my blorbo and ninjago is my hyperfixation. I'm already obsessed and thinking about it daily so this wasnt too different

I gave myself flexibility. Even though I ended up doing one for every day I never was going to force myself to do so, I had the freedom to skip a day if I didn't want to do it.

Flexibility pt. 2: I didn't make a full drawing every day. I allowed myself to put in as much or as little effort as I wanted which removed some of the pressure and worked better with my schedule

Now for some fun stuff! A recap of the art I made this month and my thoughts on some of the peices.

My favorite peice: day 29 - au/the movie

This was so much fun and I'm so happy with how it turned out. I couldn't decide on one au to draw since I have so many and keep making them so I just did a bunch! (Copy paste my best friend) I've had a bunch of ideas for designs bounching around for a while and getting to draw a handful of them with less effort than a full drawing which is great for my mental health. Honestly I liked making this and the results so much that I'm probably gonna do more of these with more designs.

Least favorite: day 1 - torment/chains

A dissapointing start to the challenge but luckily things only went uphill from here. The reason i dont like it is because this is one of those instances where the idea I have in my head is above my skill level. Additionally this is one of the ones that took the longest which is extra dissapointing considering I don't even like the result. I am proud of the hands though!

Most effort: day 14 - crew

I am NOT used to doing more than like 2 characters in one drawing and this was a challenge. Figuring out a pose for all of them was hard and I had to get creative with Wrayth cause he came last. I originally wanted to put a ghost dragon behind them too but that was just more effort and time than I had. Funny story about this one actually! I completed the base sketch for 3/5 of the characters but then my computer got fucky and I had to restart it. I saved the drawing but when I tried to open it I got the dreaded clip studio Unsupported File Format and had to restart ;-; I spent like half an hour trying to restore but had to give up in the end and restart.

Least effort: day 23 - memories

Little guy. Tiny dude. Took like 5 minutes and I love it. I didn't realize just how small I made him until I got a reblog saying they couldn't find him.

Most popular: day 5 - rope

Would have liked for some of my other drawings to get some of the attention this one got but honestly I'm not suprised it got so popular. It's a masterpiece.

Least popular: day 12 - underwater/submarine

Morro but icarus, cause I love me some Grecian classics mixed with ninjago!

I only started concepting the sketch so i don't have anything to show but i always adore the similiarities between Icarus and Morro.

Both are people that were given a chance to do something. Icarus only wanted freedom and he got it through his wings. Morro only wanted to be the saviour, the green ninja and Wu gave him the idea.

At last, they both flew too close to the son. Daedalus told Icarus to not fly too close to the sun, but Icarus still flown and melted his wings.

Wu told Morro that it's impossible to find his father's tomb, but Morro ignored it and he payed his prize.

This is also a main reason why i gave my Morro designs a broken wings lol

NINJAGOTALE MASTERPOST AND FAQ

Here is the FAQ and Masterpost for my Ninjagotale project! Read on for answers to basic questions, and scroll down for links to certain posts! This will be updated whenever new content comes out, so check back often to see if you missed anything!

WHAT IS NINJAGOTALE?

It is an Undertale/Ninjago AU/crossover story that has evolved into a VERY different thing than it started out as. It is basically Undertale, but with the characters swapped with characters from the Ninjago series. However, there will be a HUGE plot twist that changes everything.

ARE YOU THE CREATOR OF NINJAGOTALE?

No. But like Underswap and Underfell, it pretty much belongs to everyone in the fandom. There are multiple interpretations, and I am not the first one to have one. Many of the character choices are actually inspired by other people’s interpretations! However, I’m doing something particularly unique with mine...

IS NINJAGOTALE A FANFICTION?

It used to be! Now it’s a comic. You can find the written version links below the comic version links if you’re interested!

WHAT ARE THE CHARACTERS LIKE?

In my version, they have the same names as the Ninjago characters, but most of the personalities are the same as the Undertale characters. However, to make things more interesting, the characters you interact with most will have some of the traits of the Ninjago characters. So they will be a bit different.

The appearances are a combination of the two characters. Most are humanoid, but I made it a goal to make them clearly not human (they are still called monsters). You can see what I mean if you take a look at some of the designs. You’ll find the links to them in the “characters” section of this post (scroll down a bit). You may see multiple links, and that’s because those specific characters have been redesigned. Beware, the originals are much less visually appealing than the new ones!

ARE THERE ANY OCS?

VERY few. I made it my goal to use them sparingly, and only if I have no other choice. If there is an OC, know that I had VERY GOOD REASONS to put them there. Don’t tell me that there is no reason for [character] to be an OC, there is. I will be happy to explain my reasons to you if you ask nicely. Unless it is a spoiler (because there is one).

DO YOU TAKE REQUESTS / CAN YOU PUT MY OC / HEADCANON / IDEAS IN NINJAGOTALE?

I used to do that with my fanfictions on FFN. Sadly, I have moved on from taking requests. I have realized it is actually a bad writing move in general and should not be done if you want quality writing. The only people who are authorized to give significant influential input are the members of the Ninjagotale Team.

YOU SHOULDN’T PUT _____ IN NINJAGOTALE! I DON’T LIKE THAT!

Thank you for expressing your concerns. I’m sorry, but I’m not changing the plot to please a few people who don’t like what I’m doing with my story. There are other stories out there. Go find one you do like. Or make your own story instead of whining at other people to change their stories so you like them.

Absolutely! After all, I’m not the first person to have an interpretation of the AU! There are several other people who have one of their own! First reason: because while I have seen concept art and fan art of it, I haven’t seen many people make it into an actual story (I do have friends who are currently in the process of it though).

Second reason: I actually feel motivated to do this. This is huge, because lately I have not been very inspired. By anything.

Third (and probably most important) reason: On a personal level, this is actually my way of tracking my improvement and development of my art. My goal is to have mastered most of the basics by the end of the project. I don’t know if that will happen, but I’m going to try! #FILLED WITH DETERMINATION
