Gale: Very good. Now I want you to picture in your mind the concept of harmony. As true as you can. Armas: [BARD] Harmony comes easily to you. Allow it to wash over your mind and magic.
I have no idea if that is TAV option but I LOVE how bard Durge can find sense of harmony easily with their bardic skills.

one of the main differences between the book and show versions of armand/daniel's maker/fledgling dynamic and how armand feels about it is that as its been presented so far, show armand finally making his first fledgling was a choice he made, not something he was pushed into like in the book. he made the decision himself. so the main resentment armand feels towards daniel is gonna be more linked to his actions in dubai rather than being a walking reminder of how armand felt forced by him to break his only boundary in their relationship to save his life.
not to say it makes any of it healthier especially since we don't know what the turning was like and how daniel truly feels about it— if daniel was okay with it, if he asked for it, if he tried to fight it. i mean he seems cool with it but that doesn't really prove anything until we see more of him/what happened. it could be they flipped it and the choice was taken from daniel rather than armand, but instead i think it would be a lot more interesting if they couldn't actually apply any sort of true resentment to this specific aspect of their relationship because they both know it's what they wanted. a choice they both made rather than something that was forced on either of them. so it's those feelings and everything else that's happened between them they've got to navigate going forward
#both realising they have no problem being bonded that way and neither of them regret it#but theyre still fucking pissed off with each other for a whole bunch of other reasons#strangling each other with their red string of fate#daniel just isnt giving me 'cursed into the darkness' vibes i think hes loving it#but it could be an act or a high that'll wear off eventually i guess#iwtv#armandaniel#devil's minion

Follow-up for Villain!Reader (Bee-themed), Hive!
After trying to flee from the platonic yan/s, and subsequentially figuring out the platonic yans who've been visiting then were infected (or telepaths who could see into their mind and their infected teammates), Reader heads on a night train to New York... Where they were when they were Hive, and where every other hero, villain, vigilante, and super person seems to reside.
Being back is... Not the greatest feeling in the world. Reader feels tense, trudging out of the station and out into the bustling streets with only what they had packed previously, but they can't focus on how they hate being back. Their first order of business: Finding a few hidey-homes to set up shop in. Perks of saving their money over the years from their old villain days is they have a small fortune tucked away, and it definitely helps get them a few places to hide in. Imagine that they have a small apartment/house/studio in each hero/villain/vigilante territory. Some work as homes, some work as small coffee houses, others as antique markets and flea stores. Reader has to keep themself going, and they learned a few tricks over the years on how to keep hidden and to run side lives. That being said...
They're back on the home turf of every single person they've been trying to avoid. And it is driving them INSANE.
Yeah, look. Sure, it's nice setting up little cafes between two or three schools and entertaining tired students with the backstory behind the objects displayed on the walls. It's cute seeing people find items they love from their antique/flea malls, lighting up when they find something they personally found and put in the collection. It even feels good hearing stories from the weird kids and teens and strangers who mill around the places they're at, enjoying a peaceful Saturday... But still, it's NEW YORK! Home of every powerful, rich, and trained person who happens to know their old alias, fought AND chased them, and whom have made it clear that some of them had been infected with their venom or pheromones, by them or their boss or by some freak accident! How the H*CK does one stay calm in the belly of the beasts?!
Reader slowly gets to know some of the teens who show up at their cafes and antique stores, learning a bit about how people their age are supposed to act. It's... sobering, in a way. That that could have been them. That they could have had a healthier life, family or friends, a sense of purpose and community... Yet they cast it back to the shadows. They can't go back in time, and they have to keep in the here and now. When they have teen heroes and villains show up at their places, Reader is shocked. TEEN heroes? TEEN villains? TEEN vigilantes? Where the F*CK are the adults?! Who the H*LL is letting their kids run around fighting psychopaths and criminals and rioters and anti-mutant and racist *ssholes?! When Reader manages to calm down, they realize that some of the teens are the same ones they see on a near-daily basis. And they promptly have an (almost) heart-attack.
Great, JUST GREAT. Their old foes have children in their groups, who they now KNOW. The X-Men, who were only The Professor, Storm, and Wolverine years ago, now have, like, a dozen kids! The Brotherhood, who was maybe Magneto, Mystique, and Sabretooth or Mastermind now had half a dozen brats causing havoc (and had a Havok with them. PEACHY). Spider-man is barely a teenager, and has NO adults, unless you count Nick Fury and the Avengers checking up on him! And he's not the only spider child!
Reader is having a melt down, along with choice words over everything they've learned by the power of observation and intuition. They thought they had been the only child brought into that world of super powers and nutjobs... Now there's near TWENTY of them?! Possibly MORE?!
Reader works on keeping a new distance between themslef and the teens and kids, while also asking careful questions ("How is school?" "Weather is bad tonight, do you have a jacket?" "I heard there's a few new heroes and villains popping up, what do you think about it?") Reader uses every trick in the book they can remember to figure out what's going on. Are the adults treating them well? Are they still after Reader? Is the public leaving them alone, or causing too much trouble? Reader doesn't want to say they care, but they will go out of their way to leave a few leftovers out at their cafes for anyone who needs it (heroes, villains, vigilantes, homeless, hungry kids). It feels nice, doing good... If only they could just forget the nightmares of the past...
All this time, the platonic yan/s have gone back to New York, and have heard word that Hive might be there. They're elated. Of course now, they need to actually find that slippery little bee, and drag them back to their team/group/base, with them. They're glad though, that the teens of their group have a few new hangout spots. Some vintage stores or something they keep prattling on about. It makes them happy, and they belive the teens deserve to have some happiness... Especially since the whole reason they took on teens themselves was to offer them a better home, a better family, job, community, than Hive seemed to have... Finding out that their old boss had basically used them the moment their powers came in, it leaves them feeling sick. Maybe their little bee didn't have much of a childhood, but they'd be d*mned if their own kids didn't.
Sooner or later, the platonic yan/s visit the places the teens recommended (after much pestering, and in some cases, bribery).... And find themselves face-to-face (some of them towering over) Hive; or, at least the Hive outside of the mask. They're trying to stay calm, but seeing how the one kid they'd failed is right there (and those who had been infected, want to hear their thoughts again, and hug them), it's hard to do so, yet they manage. If only their little bee weren't so scared to see them. Don't they remember the chases? The heists? Late nights with moonlight streaming down and the fresh adrenaline of the hunt? Seeing inside their head, if only for a minute (and before they knew that was what they were doing)?
The adults take the time to inform their kids (plus Spider-man and the Spider kids), that their new friend, is also Hive. The old villain they talked about, whenever it was a quiet night and they were in the mood to reminisce. And the teens are floored. THAT person, is HIVE? The odd, kinda funny, and nervous barista/antique collector/owner of the business they visit, is Hive, right-hand man-woman- er, child- to Drone Queen? The most delusional, most vicious and conniving black-clad villain they'd seen since Hydra and the Weapon X *ssholes? THAT Hive? Suffice to say-
They're SHOOK...
Peter Parker had done research on some of the old villains the Avengers, X-Men, even Deadpool, the Brotherhood, and Doc Ock, had faced. And Drone Queen could be described by one word (he wasn't allowed to say that word, Aunt May, Nick Fury, and Iron Man would kill him if he said it), so he used another, more scientific word: a psychopath. They were BAD news. They'd had the latest state-of-the-art drugs back in the day, the type that could control anyone, or make them believe anything. Not to mention hordes upon hordes of guards, all of which were found to have a mindless loyalty to them, even when they were almost killed. It was... scary. Then there was Hive, who was like their weird... sidekick, or pet, or something. Who would run errands. Finding whatever gem or artifact they wanted, causing chaos between various gangsters and local vigilantes, whatever they were told, they did- Until one day, they just- (this part no one seemed sure about)- they just didn't do what they used to. Where they were peppy, talkative, and funny, they went silent. Jumpy. Like even THEY were scared of their boss. And after that, they just kept becoming less active, less loyal, small things they let slide and left alone... The heroes and villains eventually faced down Drone Queen, but it turned out all the control they had was from Hive all along.. It wasn't some charisma they had, or bribes, or even torture- They used Hive's venom, and forced it onto others, making unwilling puppets and slaves. They found that out when Hive actually attacked that freaky liar themself (good for them!). They were defeated, locked up, and life went back to normal... But Hive had escaped in the chaos, never to be heard from again. Yeah, apparently that was NOT the case anymore.
Cue the teens now trying to get to know Reader, the infected platonic yans happily renewing their chase and efforts to open up the hivemind, and the other platonic yans just going along for the ride...
At least Reader has an idea now of who all knows about them... Now if they could just slip past the adults and hitch a ride to Cananda...
Bonus:
Reader: How old were you when you started, twelve?!
Spider-man: No, I was thirteen!
Reader: ....
Reader: I have some choice words for Nick Fury...
Spider-man: Well, fine! How old were YOU when you started?
Reader: ... Do you mean when I met my old boss? Or when I actually started out as Hive?
Spider-man: Um... whichever, I guess?
Reader: ... I was... maybe... ten?
Spider-man:
Spider-man: WHAT?!
Reader: Well in my defense, I met them when I was five!
Spider-man: HOW IS THAT ANY BETTER?!

i was gonna rant in the tags but i'll rant here about it, but that last post made me feel so much better about that story choice in silence agenda tbh about how Nyx HAS been in love before, and that losing Iris broke them and that is an important part of their arc and their story
Nyx is Avery's first love but Avery is not Nyx's first love. And yeah, I made Iris a lot Worse in this draft but I hope I make it very clear that Nyx and Iris were in love for real. Iris was not a very good person no and she was manipulative and shitty to a lot of people but she absolutely loved Nyx and cared deeply for them, and they loved her to.
more talk and spoilers for my book under the cut
but yeah Nyx and Iris were not just having sex (like Kat thought and still thinks) they were absolutely in love and in a real relationship and that was why Iris's death impacts Nyx so so much especially since they saw her as untouchable. They idolized her, yes, and she wanted to Fix them yes and their relationship was not necessarily healthy lol and they weren't necessarily good for each other but that doesn't negate that
there are a lot of reasons why Nyx is guarded, they have a lot of trauma and have killed a lot of people but Iris's death is The Main Thing that makes them so distrustful and not wanting to get close to others. like if it weren't for that Nyx would be a very very different person. and their eventual relationship with Avery is meaningful in a different way (healthier for one lol) but it's still like. the same kind of feelings they had for Iris lol.
and we see Nyx falling in love with Iris more easily over flashbacks and being aware of it BECAUSE they don't have that trauma of losing her yet. After that, Nyx represses literally every feeling they have, that's why they're not even aware that they're falling in love again two years later until they're already like. down BAD. i always say that Avery fell first and Nyx fell harder, which is true, but Avery also realizes it sooner. But for real, Nyx falls just as quickly and just as head over heels for Avery as they did in the past for Iris, they just are not aware of it whatsoever because they've convinced themself not to be and don't want to get hurt or hurt other people in that way ever again
this is also why Nyx is very protective of Avery and kind of takes the role that Iris took in their relationship btw and it's also why they are determined to give Avery the peaceful life that Iris always promised to them. Because they would never want to admit it but deep down they feel deeply betrayed by Iris for not only dying and leaving them alone but also just for not following through on the promises she made for them and they're determined not to do the same to Avery, not to promise what they can't give

progress and humanity for your fellas
✧ ━━ 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐂𝐀𝐍𝐎𝐍𝐒 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐌𝐔𝐒𝐄𝐒 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐀 𝐃𝐈𝐅𝐅𝐈𝐂𝐔𝐋𝐓 𝐏𝐀𝐒𝐓 𝙻𝙴𝙰𝙶𝚄𝙴 𝚅𝙴𝚁𝚂𝙴
Progress // Have they made any significant progress since their past deeds? Are they currently progressing? Do they want to progress? ━━ I would say so. Robin's time in Zaun was a really difficult trial that had a lot of things stacked against him from the moment he was born. Social status made it impossible to climb and lofty dreams along with his insatiability made him do some pretty intense things, and the grief. And maybe the demon but whatever. Either way, Robin has found quite a bit of peace in Ionia despite his even worse social status and repetitive lifestyle. He's met and made a lot of connections, and has even made friends and found that he's still able to care about people depite everything. @aquatic-hybrid had a massive influence on his way of seeing life, if I'm being honest, and this has led Robin to try and actually forgive himself and break out of whatever crypt he's buried himself in. He wants to leave, and eventually with the help of @hemoplagued, he does. Robin has actually gotten quite a bit healthier since I started writing him; he's still extremely unnerving and calculating, but emotionally and in turns of stability ━ he's in a way better place.
Humanity // If they're asked what 'humanity' means to them and how they would describe it, what would they answer? Do they love or hate humans? ━━ I know this is going to sound wild given how Robin is in other verses, but in his main timeline in League Robin doesn't really have any resentment towards humans? He's one and he has relationships with them. Even when he was working with Miss Glasc in Zaun he had friendships and happily went out with them! He loves the arts and tries to take as much as he can in, and art is the heart of humanity in a way. That being said, Robin isn't an idealist and he never will be, and he's well aware that for all of the good humans do they do an equal amount of bad; like - duh he was literally reviving torture victims for money? Robin, a human, made every one of his decisions; Abel simply supported those decisions, the demon never actually made of those dark choices for Robin. And Robin's well aware of it, he's also aware that none of it was personal ( or not all of it ). ━━ I think if I had to sum it up, Robin finds a majority of people very very boring. He's attracted to chaos and people smart enough to keep up with his mind games; and a lot of people just don't fit in that narrow space. Granted there's a small part of him that's extremely fond of generally good people ( looking at you @steel-and-fire ) with well meaning hearts. Which, unfortunately, are also a rare commodity.
Progress // Have they made any significant progress since their past deeds? Are they currently progressing? Do they want to progress? ━━ I don't think that Haruko necessarily thought he'd end up at the forefront of a Darkin worshipping blood cult, or being in a symbiotic relationship with one; but here he is. Haruko doesn't feel the need for any sort of redemption for his deeds, he kills any and all Noxians to keep Ionia clean and in his eyes that is a good thing. At the beginning of the Noxian invasion he lost most of what made his life worth living, and since then he's found reason to keep going, has fallen in love, has made friends, raised his beautiful and strong daughter @deathdxnces, and all of this is a huge plus to him. He's really content where he is, he still has nightmares about the war but he has a new family around him to hold him and provide him what he needs.
Humanity // If they're asked what 'humanity' means to them and how they would describe it, what would they answer? Do they love or hate humans? ━━ Haru's feelings on humans are sort of all over the place. For the most part his view of them is pretty negative, he think's they've messed up Ionia's magical grid, he knows they're what separated his family and poisoned the Wuju temples, and a majority of them are pests and cowards. However he has met his fair share of humans who have earned his respect and even his affections; but he still views them as the less common aspect of their species. He doesn't want to eradicate them, but he would prefer them to keep their distance and keep their petty wars to themselves and away from his beloved homeland.

So I realized yesterday how close I was to losing one of my friends. He's a current coworker, but considering coworkers ARE the only friends I have up where I live, he's a fucking friend. One of the three coworkers (going on four I suppose) I've ever had up here. But anyway.
He was in a bad place. His wife that he ADORES and centers his life over decided (out of the blue) to end their marriage. They've been together for just short of a decade, just got married last year. Now no one knows his wife's side of the story. She won't tell him what happened, just made it clear that it's over.
It ripped my man apart. Threw him over the edge.
Found out that he called the other current coworker I consider a friend this Saturday, but he didn't answer his phone. Hell, I tried texting him when I started getting red flag suicide messages for help. Turns out, he accidentally left his phone on airplane - was blissfully unaware. I stopped hearing from my guy reaching out.
Found out on Monday that he checked himself into the hospital. Learned yesterday that he planned to ask our coworker friend to come over for "gun therapy" (it's a thing up here, very common) and shoot himself as soon as our coworker's back was turned. I indeed felt sick most of yesterday.
I got a call from him today. He's out of the hospital, on new meds for depression and preexisting psychosis, with weekly therapy sessions. He told me I'm the only one he's planning on reaching out to in our workplace until he can talk to our boss.
I've been a lifeline for someone before. My wife, in fact. I have NO problem advocating for those that can't for themselves. I have no problem dealing with suicidal ideation. I'VE been there. Active suicide is a little different. Not the first time I've dealt with that, either.
I am happy to help him even he needs it. HAPPY that he's willing to reach out as he leaned a life without his wife. I am scared I might not say the right thing when I am now the one he trusts most.
My brother almost committed suicide a couple years back. His girlfriend was cheating on him with his best friend. He lost his entire friends group. My brother still hasn't figured out how to get better.
I'm lucky. A lot of my problem was living in the city. Yeah, brain didn't help either, but I learned healthier coping mechanisms that social ideation is far and few in between. I KNOW how I got there, but you can't just ... talk someone into that mindset. For one, it's hard. It is so so hard to change the way you let you speak to yourself. Two, most of the advice you can give just sounds superficial and stupid. But it really is all up to you. Happiness really is a choice, even if it's a really hard choice. I don't know how to make that sound better to someone that hasn't gotten to doing the work.
But I'm generally pretty big on trying to choose the words well enough that they're difficult to misconstrue. I'm not willing to lose my friend. He's become important to me, and not having him around this week has been incredibly ... weird and noticeable. We've been strict partners for months now, and I'm suddenly paired up with someone else. I just want my friend back and I can't wait to see him again to give him a hug.
I'm lucky I can do that.

I used to take meds back then from autumn 2018 to autumn 2019. They were helping with paranoia, hyperactivity, impulsivity, anger issues, delusions, panic attacks, etc, you get the drill. They had good effects, such as me having been rather calm (to the point people were joking about how nothing could ever anger or scare me, lol), as well as more focused on writing or drawing things more than I've ever been in my life. But also they've made me so sleepy that I basically barely finished my last uni year when dozing off at every class, and I had a hard time providing the engaged, invested, "nerdy" conversations on every other topic like I do. I just quit them because not only being sleepy ALL the time would not let me work a job normally, but I also started to worry that I've been losing myself as a person. I was just so... detached and boring in conversations while medicated? Like you guys here know me as a person who is chronically like this:
But when I was medicated, it was far not this way. I was giving like... kinda tame and normie responses and thoughts, still excited but not TOO excited, etc. I am surprised that even while being a total slug on meds, I still had it in me to start fearing of losing my "eyes on the inside" xd
But I've been just thinking about stuff recently. I still loathe it when it is being handled like "you are a dangerous harmful monster that doesn't deserve compassion and trust and should be exciled from society", obvs, but the problem itself exists. I am kinda too intense, too much, too impulsive, my mood can drastically flicker within a second and flicker back just as fast. And I am paranoid. This year I even exhausted another paranoid person with being worse at it than them :/ (it always reminds me of a dream I had once, where Mic0lash of all people told me that I was "too crazy" for him fdshfh xD) I am extremely blessed to have friends and simply familiar people who accept and love me the way I am, but I am really starting to think that maybe I should delve back into it. That maybe something was wrong with the meds or the dose I used to be taking and I should try again. It is just really strange that being healthier would be able to "ruin" my passionate, nerdy, engaged personality. I've always been 'over the top' with how I think and with my creativity, even before any mental illness showed up, so sure it is just me and not any sort of positive symptom...? Like, clearly this is just my autism, not one of those other "mental illness" guys?
Well, all this talk is just in the scenario if I get enough financial stability to be able to afford monthly repackaging of meds. I am just having second thoughts on whether it is really a choice with no good option, and that maybe that previous doctor just made a mistake with prescriptions (could happen with anyone, even a professional). Or maybe I needed to demand trying something else but didn't. And I just assumed that "meds are a diabolic device to destroy a creative, nonconforming brain" (notice how it itself sounds a bit like a paranoid delusion, so clearly those meds were not quite helping with it lol). Not gonna lie, I am still scared that being calmer will kill the "real me", but at this point pain, paranoia and anger keep chopping away from my days and from my good experiences. And I can't control it.
But maybe I just should not have expected to hit the right way instantly, some people try out different meds for years before they find something that genuinely makes life better. Like maybe I got scared of how things have changed and gave up too soon, when I should have like, bugged doctor to try something else. I just want to believe that I don't have to choose between "being nerdy and engaged" and "stopping having panic/anger attacks that quite literally make me lose my mind". At least I gather enough optimism and benefit of the doubt to consider delving into it again, so there is something..
#personal#mental health#mental illness#not gonna lie guys paranoia is a really hard thing to seek help with#because yes if you are wondering it can get as bad as me believing that people who try to help are 'enemies'#like i can't even describe how REAL even the worst assumptions feel#i suppose i am having a small window of 'sanity' because early fall always cheers me up#i am describing this sort of thing more vaguely since you need to be at least lvl 5 friend to unlock the details fsjd#but i think it is pretty clear especially if anybody here has/had similar problems#at least if i crawl from the current debt pit i know where to put money that come above the bare minimum line lol

Sugar Defender: A Game-Changer for My Blood Sugar Management
For years, I struggled with maintaining healthy blood sugar levels. The constant cravings, energy dips, and overall sluggishness were affecting my quality of life. I tried various methods – a stricter diet, increased exercise – but achieving consistent control remained elusive. Then, I discovered Sugar Defender supplements, and let me tell you, they've been a game-changer!
Natural Support for Blood Sugar Regulation
Sugar Defender boasts a unique blend of natural ingredients known for their positive effects on blood sugar control. The inclusion of ingredients like cinnamon, chromium, and bitter melon particularly appealed to me. These ingredients have been researched for their ability to support healthy insulin sensitivity and glucose metabolism [1, 2, 3]. While I'm not a medical professional, understanding the science behind the formula instilled confidence in the product's potential.
Curbing Cravings and Boosting Energy
One of the most noticeable changes I've experienced since taking Sugar Defender is a significant reduction in sugar cravings. Before, sugary treats seemed to hold an irresistible allure. Now, I find myself making healthier choices naturally. This has not only helped me manage my blood sugar but has also contributed to a more balanced diet overall. Additionally, I've noticed a positive impact on my energy levels. The afternoon slump I used to experience is a thing of the past. I feel more energized throughout the day, allowing me to be more productive and engaged in my activities.
Convenient and Easy to Use
Sugar Defender comes in a convenient liquid form. The easy-to-use dropper allows for precise dosage, and the pleasant taste makes it a breeze to incorporate into my daily routine. I simply take the recommended dosage twice a day, and that's it! No complicated regimens or additional pills to swallow. This ease of use has made Sugar Defender a seamless addition to my health and wellness approach.
A Valuable Tool in My Blood Sugar Management Arsenal
While I believe a healthy diet and regular exercise are crucial for overall health, Sugar Defender supplements have become a valuable tool in my blood sugar management arsenal. The combination of natural ingredients, noticeable improvements in cravings and energy, and convenient use make it a product I highly recommend. It's important to note that I consulted with my doctor before starting Sugar Defender, and they approved its use alongside my existing regimen.
Disclaimer:
It's important to remember that individual experiences may vary. While Sugar Defender has worked wonders for me, I always recommend consulting with a healthcare professional before starting any new supplement, especially if you have any underlying health conditions or are taking medications.
Overall, Sugar Defender has been a positive addition to my health routine. It's helped me manage my blood sugar more effectively, improved my energy levels, and reduced cravings. If you're looking for a natural approach to support your blood sugar health, I highly recommend giving Sugar Defender a try!

Never Too Late to Straighten: A Guide to Orthodontics for Adults
Introduction:
The pursuit of a straight and aligned smile is not limited to adolescence; in fact, an increasing number of adults are exploring orthodontic options to achieve the smile they've always desired. Orthodontics for adults has evolved significantly, offering various discreet and effective solutions to correct misalignments and improve oral health. In this comprehensive guide, we will explore the benefits, considerations, and advancements in orthodontics for adults, emphasizing that it is never too late to pursue a straight and confident smile.
The Evolution of Orthodontics for Adults:
A. Changing Perspectives: Traditionally, orthodontic treatments were predominantly associated with teenagers. However, evolving perspectives and advancements in orthodontic technology have made it clear that age is not a barrier to achieving a straight and healthy smile. More adults are now seeking orthodontic solutions to address misalignments, improve aesthetics, and enhance oral function.
B. Discreet Treatment Options: One of the notable changes in orthodontics for adults is the availability of discreet treatment options. Adults are often concerned about the impact of visible braces on their professional and social life. Modern orthodontic solutions, such as clear aligners and tooth-colored braces, provide effective correction without the noticeable appearance of traditional metal braces.
Benefits of Orthodontics for Adults:
A. Improved Oral Health: Orthodontic treatment goes beyond aesthetic improvements; it contributes to improved oral health. Straight teeth are easier to clean and maintain, reducing the risk of issues like cavities and gum disease. Properly aligned teeth also promote a healthier bite, reducing the likelihood of jaw pain and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders.
B. Enhanced Aesthetics and Confidence: Aesthetic concerns often drive adults to seek orthodontic treatment. A straight and well-aligned smile can significantly enhance facial aesthetics, boosting self-confidence and contributing to a positive self-image. Adults who may have felt self-conscious about their smiles for years can achieve the transformation they desire.
C. Correction of Bite Issues: Malocclusions, such as overbites, underbites, and crossbites, can impact oral function and lead to discomfort. Orthodontic treatment corrects these bite issues, improving the alignment of the upper and lower teeth and promoting a more harmonious bite.
D. Prevention of Tooth Wear: Misaligned teeth can lead to uneven wear on tooth surfaces, affecting the longevity of the teeth. Orthodontic treatment helps distribute the forces of biting and chewing more evenly, preventing premature wear and preserving the structural integrity of the teeth.
Considerations for Adults Seeking Orthodontic Treatment:
A. Treatment Options: Adults have a variety of orthodontic treatment options to choose from. Traditional metal braces, ceramic braces, lingual braces (placed behind the teeth), and clear aligners offer choices that cater to individual preferences and lifestyle.
B. Treatment Duration: The duration of orthodontic treatment for adults can vary depending on the complexity of the case. While some cases may require a relatively short duration, others may take longer to achieve optimal results. It is essential for adults to have realistic expectations and commit to the recommended treatment plan.
C. Oral Hygiene: Maintaining good oral hygiene is crucial during orthodontic treatment. Adults undergoing orthodontic treatment must be diligent in cleaning their teeth and orthodontic appliances to prevent plaque buildup and reduce the risk of cavities and gum issues.
D. Lifestyle Adjustments: While modern orthodontic options are designed to be convenient and adaptable to various lifestyles, some adjustments may be necessary. For example, dietary modifications to avoid certain foods that could damage orthodontic appliances may be recommended.
Advancements in Orthodontic Technology:
A. Clear Aligner Technology: Clear aligners have revolutionized orthodontic treatment for adults. These custom-made, transparent trays gradually move the teeth into the desired position. Clear aligners offer discretion, convenience, and the flexibility to remove them for eating and oral hygiene.
B. 3D Imaging and Treatment Planning: Advances in technology, such as 3D imaging and treatment planning, have improved the precision and efficiency of orthodontic treatment. Orthodontists can create detailed digital models of the teeth, allowing for accurate treatment planning and visualization of the expected outcomes.
C. Accelerated Orthodontics: Accelerated orthodontic techniques aim to shorten the overall treatment duration. Technologies such as high-frequency vibration devices and accelerated orthodontic procedures may be incorporated to expedite tooth movement while maintaining effectiveness.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, orthodontics for adults is a viable and rewarding option for those seeking to enhance their smiles and oral health. The evolution of orthodontic perspectives, the availability of discreet treatment options, and advancements in technology have made it clear that age should not be a barrier to achieving a straight and confident smile. The benefits extend beyond aesthetics, encompassing improved oral health, enhanced confidence, and the correction of functional issues.

The Shampoo Bar Revolution In an era marked by growing environmental consciousness and the pursuit of sustainable living, the beauty industry is witnessing a significant shift. Traditional hair care products, often packaged in plastic bottles and laden with chemicals, are losing their luster. In their place, a quiet revolution is taking hold, led by a seemingly humble yet powerful contender - shampoo bars. Why Make the Switch to Shampoo Bars? Shampoo bars have surged in popularity, and for excellent reasons. These compact, solid bars have transcended their status as mere hair care products; they represent a lifestyle choice, a commitment to eco-friendliness, and a pathway to healthier hair. Eco-Friendly Beauty Must-Haves Reduced Plastic Waste: One of the most compelling reasons to embrace shampoo bars is their environmental impact. Traditional liquid shampoos typically come in plastic bottles that contribute significantly to the global plastic pollution crisis. In contrast, shampoo bars are often minimally packaged in recyclable materials or offered as naked bars, eliminating plastic waste. Water Savings: Shampoo bars require less water to produce and use. Their concentrated formula means less water is needed during manufacturing, and they create less wastewater during use compared to liquid shampoos. Compact and Travel-Friendly: Shampoo bars are compact and lightweight, making them ideal for travel. Say goodbye to messy spills in your luggage and the need for excessive toiletry storage space. Potential Benefits for Different Hair Types Shampoo bars are not a one-size-fits-all solution. Just as with traditional shampoos, they come in a variety of formulations to cater to different hair types and concerns. Here's how they can benefit various hair types: Oily Hair: Shampoo bars formulated with clarifying ingredients can help regulate excess oil production, leaving your hair feeling fresh and clean. Dry Hair: Moisturizing shampoo bars can hydrate and nourish dry and damaged hair, restoring its natural shine and vitality. Curly Hair: Shampoo bars with gentle, sulfate-free formulas can help maintain the shape and definition of curly locks without causing excessive frizz. Sensitive Scalp: Fragrance-free and hypoallergenic shampoo bars are available for those with sensitive scalps, reducing the risk of irritation and discomfort. Color-Treated Hair: Some shampoo bars are specially designed to protect and extend the life of color-treated hair, preserving your vibrant hues. The allure of shampoo bars extends beyond the promise of gorgeous locks; it represents a shift towards responsible consumer choices and a commitment to a healthier planet. The journey to discovering the best shampoo bars for your hair type and needs begins here, and in the following sections, we will delve deeper into the world of shampoo bars. Up next, in Section 2, we'll unravel the fundamentals: "What Are Shampoo Bars?" and "How Do Shampoo Bars Work?" Let's dive in. What Are Shampoo Bars? As we embark on our journey to unravel the secrets of shampoo bars, it's essential to start at the very beginning: understanding what shampoo bars are and why they've captured the hearts of eco-conscious consumers and hair care enthusiasts alike. Defining Shampoo Bars Shampoo bars are a revolution in hair care. They represent a departure from the conventional liquid shampoo that most of us are familiar with. Instead of the familiar plastic bottles, shampoo bars are compact, solid bars made from a blend of natural and often organic ingredients. These ingredients are carefully chosen to cleanse, condition, and nourish your hair, all while minimizing their environmental impact. Composition Shampoo bars typically consist of the following key ingredients: Surfactants: These are responsible for cleansing your hair. Common surfactants in shampoo bars include sodium cocoyl isethionate (SCI), sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), or sodium laureth sulfate (SLES). Don't let the chemical-sounding names scare you; many shampoo bars use gentle, biodegradable surfactants.
Emollients and Oils: To add moisture and hydration, shampoo bars often contain natural oils like coconut oil, argan oil, or shea butter. These ingredients help prevent your hair from drying out during the cleansing process. Essential Oils: For fragrance and therapeutic benefits, essential oils such as lavender, peppermint, or tea tree are commonly added. These oils not only make your hair smell delightful but also offer various scalp and hair benefits. Botanical Extracts: Some shampoo bars incorporate botanical extracts like chamomile, aloe vera, or green tea. These extracts can provide additional nourishment and promote scalp health. How Shampoo Bars Differ from Liquid Shampoos Shampoo bars stand out in several ways when compared to their liquid counterparts: Packaging: Shampoo bars are often minimalistic in terms of packaging, reducing plastic waste. Many are sold in paper or cardboard packaging or as "naked" bars, eliminating the need for packaging altogether. Concentration: Shampoo bars are highly concentrated, which means a little goes a long way. You'll find that you need less product per wash compared to liquid shampoos. Eco-Friendly: With their minimal packaging, reduced water content, and biodegradable ingredients, shampoo bars are a compelling choice for environmentally conscious consumers. Travel-Friendly: Their solid form makes shampoo bars easy to transport without worrying about spills or exceeding liquid restrictions during travel. Longevity: A single shampoo bar can last as long as several bottles of liquid shampoo, making them a cost-effective choice in the long run. Shampoo bars have garnered attention not only for their environmental benefits but also for their effectiveness in cleansing and caring for your hair. Now that we've grasped the basics of what shampoo bars are, let's delve deeper into how they work in the next section: "How Do Shampoo Bars Work?" Let's continue our journey towards healthier, more sustainable hair care. Choosing the Right Shampoo Bar for Your Hair Now that we've explored what shampoo bars are, their composition, and the top picks for 2023, it's time to tackle a crucial aspect of adopting this eco-friendly hair care trend: choosing the right shampoo bar for your hair type. Just like traditional shampoos, shampoo bars come in various formulations tailored to specific hair needs. Let's embark on the journey of finding your perfect match. Finding Your Perfect Match Choosing the right shampoo bar isn't a one-size-fits-all endeavor. It depends on factors such as your hair type, texture, and any specific concerns you may have. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you navigate the world of shampoo bars effectively: Step 1: Determine Your Hair Type Understanding your hair type is the first and most crucial step. It sets the foundation for selecting the ideal shampoo bar. Common hair types include: Oily Hair: If your scalp tends to get greasy quickly, look for a shampoo bar with clarifying ingredients like tea tree oil or activated charcoal to control oil production. Dry Hair: For dry and damaged hair, opt for a moisturizing shampoo bar enriched with nourishing oils such as argan oil, coconut oil, or shea butter. Curly Hair: Curly hair requires extra care to maintain its shape and minimize frizz. Seek out sulfate-free shampoo bars designed to enhance and define your curls. Sensitive Scalp: If you have a sensitive scalp prone to irritation or allergies, choose a fragrance-free and hypoallergenic shampoo bar to minimize potential reactions. Color-Treated Hair: To preserve your hair color and prevent fading, select a shampoo bar specially formulated for color-treated hair. Step 2: Identify Your Specific Concerns In addition to your hair type, consider any specific concerns you might have. These could include dandruff, hair loss, or scalp conditions. Look for shampoo bars with ingredients known to address these issues, such as: Dandruff: Seek out shampoo bars containing tea tree oil, salicylic acid, or pyrithione zinc, which can help combat dandruff. Hair Loss: Look for bars with ingredients like biotin, caffeine, or saw palmetto to promote hair growth and reduce hair loss. Scalp Conditions: If you have scalp conditions like psoriasis or eczema, choose a shampoo bar with gentle, soothing ingredients like aloe vera or chamomile. Step 3: Read Product Descriptions Carefully When browsing for shampoo bars online or in stores, pay close attention to product descriptions and labels.
Manufacturers often provide detailed information about the intended use and benefits of each shampoo bar. Shampoo Bars for Different Hair Types Now, let's explore some recommended shampoo bars for various hair types: Shampoo Bars for Oily Hair Recommended Product: Green Life Shampoo Bar with Tea Tree Oil Key Ingredients: Tea tree oil, lavender oil, and activated charcoal. The world of eco-friendly hair care awaits, and choosing the right shampoo bar is a significant step toward achieving healthier, more sustainable locks. In the next section, "Making the Switch to Shampoo Bars," we'll guide you through the transition process and offer tips to maintain healthy hair using shampoo bars. Let's continue our journey together. Making the Switch to Shampoo Bars Congratulations on making the decision to embrace the shampoo bar revolution and take a step toward more sustainable hair care! Now that you've chosen the right shampoo bar for your hair type and needs, it's time to explore the practical aspects of transitioning to a shampoo bar routine and maintaining healthy hair. In this final section, we'll guide you through the process. Transitioning to a Shampoo Bar Routine Switching from traditional liquid shampoos to shampoo bars may require a bit of adjustment, but the results are well worth it. Here's how to smoothly transition: Clarify Your Hair: Before making the switch, use a clarifying shampoo one last time to remove any product buildup or residues from your hair. Wet Your Hair: Wet your hair thoroughly in the shower, just as you would with liquid shampoo. Lather in Your Hands: Rub the shampoo bar between your wet hands to create a lather. Alternatively, you can rub the bar directly onto your wet hair. Apply the Lather: Gently apply the lather to your scalp and hair, massaging as you go. Ensure even distribution. Rinse Thoroughly: Rinse your hair thoroughly with warm water until all the shampoo is gone. Proper rinsing is essential to prevent residue buildup. Condition as Needed: Depending on your hair type and preference, you may or may not need to follow up with a conditioner. Some people find that shampoo bars provide enough moisture on their own. Store Properly: Allow the shampoo bar to dry completely after use. Store it in a cool, dry place away from direct water contact to prolong its life. Maintaining Healthy Hair with Shampoo Bars To keep your hair healthy and beautiful while using shampoo bars, follow these tips: Use an Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse: Periodically, use a diluted apple cider vinegar rinse (1 part vinegar to 3 parts water) to clarify your hair and restore its pH balance. Adjust Frequency: Shampoo bars are concentrated, so you may not need to wash your hair as frequently as with liquid shampoo. Adjust your washing frequency according to your hair's needs.
Be Patient: It may take a few washes for your hair to adjust to the new routine. Be patient and give your hair some time to adapt. Experiment: Don't be afraid to experiment with different shampoo bars and brands to find the one that works best for you. Stay Consistent: Consistency is key to seeing the best results. Stick to your shampoo bar routine for a few weeks to allow your hair to fully adjust. Trim Regularly: Keep up with regular hair trims to remove split ends and promote healthy growth. Protect Your Hair: Use heat protectants when styling with heat tools, and protect your hair from the sun and environmental damage. Conclusion In this comprehensive guide, we've embarked on a journey through the world of shampoo bars, from understanding what they are to choosing the right one for your unique hair type, and finally, making a successful transition to this eco-friendly hair care trend. By now, you're equipped with the knowledge and tools to embark on your own shampoo bar adventure. Remember, the journey to healthier, more sustainable hair care starts with small, conscious choices. This old post's recent resurgence has actually been causing me some distress over the past day or two. I know I'm extra sensitive and extra depressed at the moment due to life stress and issues getting one of the meds I need for depression, but this self-blaming "joke" isn't particularly funny right now.
I've been feeling like a terrible host lately, and I'm worried my sysmates hate me for it. I know they don't - they've been emphatic that they're frustrated, not mad - but the fear is still there.
I haven't been able to stick to a switching schedule. When sysmates have asked to front, I've been brushing them off with "I'm tired, I don't want to." For instance, Varyn asked the other day for some time at home to play the piano, and I said I didn't feel like it and took a nap. I know this isn't all my fault. I know the med issues have made motivation hard and made me extremely tired, even more so than usual. (Which I need to talk to my doctor about later this week, as there's no reason I know that I should be needing 14-16 hours of sleep/rest a day.) I know part of the issues I'm having with depression lately are related to not doing things, not making choices that I know would be healthier. I'm self-isolating, even from my sysmates.
Everything not absolutely essential for life have just felt like too much lately and Idk what to do about it. Except go to my doctor's appointment Thursday and get a refill of my meds and try to make better choices, a little bit at a time.
Stop calling me out like that, Godville! XD

Ayden hopes for better
Ayden sits beside her bed, legs tucked under her, unwrapped hands firmly on her knees. Head bowed, eyes shut as she attempts to meditate. It feels as though it's been years since she focused on her thoughts.
Parsing through the last few months, figuring out where to go from here.
Deep breath in, out.
She tries a method her mom taught her; remember, feel the emotion, and if you find it impedes your journey, let it go. Inhale and exhale. Let it go.
Deep breath in, out.
She thinks of her mother, the choices, the facts that lay before her. It won't do her any good in the Hells, Ayden knows her mistakes; Wynne, Phoebe, the Blade, The Call. Acknowledge the responsibility and-
Deep breath in, out.
Her respiration trembles slightly, flexes her digits, readjusts her posture, and focuses.
She thinks of the group, the Blade of Phandalin, heroes of the Dales. The people she's fought beside. Her friends.
Dragons, gods, fiends, lichs, aboleths. Victories, losses, deaths, and resurrections.
Throughout her time with them, there's been a silver lining, or a rematch where it's been in their favor.
They've never given up.
Hope and determination, -two flowers Ayden has been struggling to tend to- grow greener, healthier, slowly.
If they're calling on her to lead, or at least co-lead, she is going to get better. She has to, her friends' lives can't end, especially not there. She won't be able to handle-
Deep breath in, out.
She has to believe their time in the Hells, the sacrifices they've all made to get there, won't be in vain.
She pauses for a moment, she can feel her hair becoming brighter, lifting off her shoulder.
She thinks of Wren.
The shadowy man, who was made to think of himself only as a weapon, only as useful as the magic he wields, only as strong as the last person he kills. The man who is better than he views himself as. She thinks about the dreams, the safety he offers, the..- Ayden wills her hair down, shaking her head.
She can't seem to fall for people she can have, or keep, for that matter.
She chuckles softly. The empty room making it louder and echo off the walls surrounding her.
Deep breath in, out.
She opens her eyes to the closed door and the flickering candle next to the bed, the wax dripping and pulling towards the base.
She thinks about Zariel and shuts her eyes again.
Her thoughts turn to prayer, to her mother's god.
"Okay. Alright... You know, I've done this before but never at this level of need.
Lathander, please, if you can hear me, I desperately require your help. I did something thoughtless and my mother paid the price for it. My mom was- is a devoted follower of yours. She spoke to and of you often. Please help me save her and bring her back to your light and protection. Help me undo my mess. Please deliver her from this torment and back into your safety. In your name, Lathander."
Her body, throughout the beseechment, shakes, eyes squeezed tightly, tears passing through them.
Deep breath in, out.
The people she cares about will be safe once the archdevil is dealt with. Ayden hopes, in the way that reunites the disgraced angel with her companion.
As for Wren, she'll just have to, yet again, hope something will turn up, before he's lost, completely and utterly lost. Incapable of returning to his family. Unable to be-
Deep breath in, out.
Her meditation briefly turns into prayer again as she tries to reach Lathander, or any of the deities that don't want the Whispered One to claim another, to win.
"Please, Lathander, anyone. There's a human who, in desperation, accepted the power of an evil entity. He's being changed, drained of life, becoming a-a husk of himself until there's nothing left to save. Please. I want, no, I need to save him. He's got so much to live for, he recently found the family he was torn from at such a young age. He can get to know some of the people he grew up with, for real this time. Please help me find a way,"
She can feel her blunt nails dig into her skin, past the cloth protecting it. She's hyper-aware of the tears trailing down her cheeks now. She relaxes her hands.
"There must be a way that doesn't involve selling souls, or making pacts.... Thank you for listening to me, I suppose."
She gives a wet laugh, sniffling. She turns into both shoulders wiping the tracks from her face.
She tries to recenter, moving her legs to be crossed instead, smoothing out where she's creased the fabric.
Deep breath in, out.
Ayden inhales and exhales a couple more times.
Meditating for a few more hours before climbing in bed and under covers, she blows out the now sad looking candle, the wick hanging on for dear life, only a silver of wax remains.
Her thoughts drift as she surrenders to sleep....
"And Astro, he should be here! He would be able to do so much! That smiling selfish-"

Ok, but the way Taka’s eyes light up when he discovers flavors and is just like, “what have I been missing out on my whole life?!”
Imagine if Mondo just proceeds to take Taka around to try a bunch of different foods. The looks of wonder and innocence in his eyes is almost enough to cover the hole in Mondo’s wallet
[from this ask] It would absolutely be one of Mondo's favourite things, but soon the class find out, and they all want to get in on getting Taka to try their favourite food.
[one of the minicomics this ask dump] Some have been privy to seeing Taka eat a sub sandwich in 3 bites, and they would not like to repeat the experience.
---
Junko was incredibly disappointed when it was discovered Taka is a SPICE FIEND. She has yet to find a food he actively dislikes, and so far no amount of threats from Mondo has made her give up the search.
---
Taka doesn't like to dwell on his upbringing as part and parcel of his whole ethos of determination, so wouldn't bring it up voluntarily. Taka tends to unconsciously avoid eating around people so it's a long while before anyone notices his habits, and even longer for them to get him to recognise it as unhealthy and not 'efficient'
Eventually, in frustration, he points out that: "Akane eats like me, does that mean she has unhealthy eating habits too?" to a chorus of blank faces and the gentle explanation of: " . . . Taka . . . Akane's got the worst eating habits" From there it becomes a simple matter for his friends to join the dots between Akane's childhood poverty - Taka's family debt - and their shared defensive eating. When he finds out about Akane's background it does give Taka some piece of mind to know there's someone who understands some of his struggles and lost childhood - Akane and Taka don't always see eye to eye, but they do end up bonding tremendously over it and their efforts to get healthier.
[from this group of asks!] Whilst Byakuya almost definitely has employees to undertake such tasks, I can see a busybody like Taka, only intending to drop off some study notes for Byakuya, inadvertently insinuating himself onto the organisation committee. Taka, completely by accident, ends up with a paid position on Byakuya's staff (since you know Byakuya couldn't just ask for a favour like a normal person)
---
Byakuya has an eye for theatrics; imagine the optics! Fellow attendees scoffing at the young, clearly inexperienced heir, I mean look at his woeful choice of guest from that disgraced family! Only to discover that the elaborate evening they've been enjoying was completely organised by said guest, and then seeing that same guest yeet a man twice his size out of the convention hall. That'd definitely add to the notorious Togami reputation.
---
Business spokesmen aren't always strictly at business events; they're usually also patrons or donors to societies, charities and political parties, so there's a slew of different events it could be. In fact it'd be even more poignant if it was a political fundraiser, or something of that nature. Since Taka is an unwelcome reminder to his maternal family of their previous failed foray into gaining more political leverage; it's even funnier if Byakuya is actively trying to shove that in their faces.
--
Taka can't catch a break - both his grandfathers are pricks. Righteously indignant Taka is excellent, but I have to admit I have a soft spot for bitingly petty Taka, even if it's it's a little out of character for him: "I cannot imagine your embarrassment then Chairman; as it is an Ishimaru who had to remind you to behave in a manner befitting the dignity of your station."
Taka might have a resolve of steel when it comes to remaining civil in difficult negative situations; In positive situations however? He's not as well practiced. . . Or: Taka finds out he rather likes adrenaline really.
He was blinded by his morals and nothing else.
@starlightmedow It's got to be easy to catch some parental feels when it comes to Chihiro. You know Mondo and Taka wouldn't be down for the babying kind - but rather the nurturing, too loud cheering on in the crowd kind. Think the muscle improvement club from Mob Psycho 100
---
"One of these things is not like the others ~ one of these things just doesn't bel~ong!" (It's mothman; he's the only cryptid) In all honesty a rabbit works well for Chihiro. Adorable, but when faced off against a predator? Rabbits can be FIERCE!
I like the idea of all the programs interacting with each other! Alter ego as the more experienced and proactive learner helping the others, Chiaki being hesitant but smart and willing, whereas Usami is very enthusiastic but the least knowledgeable. Chihiro watching over all of 'em It's a fun dynamic! (I have to admit I do prefer Chiaki as a completely fabricated AI rather than based on an actual person, which I know is how it ends up shaking out in canon; her slow yet intelligent demeanour reminded me of an old desktop resolutely chugging along)
@starrygatorr aka: Taka is gaslit by a child That certainly sounds like an AU with a lot of juicy potential to it! Taka doesn't seem the sort to be well liked by children due to his strict nature and perma-scowl. He'd be delighted to be approached by any of the children - it's a shame it happened to be the emotionally-manipulative, mini-megalomaniac! That being said, flipping it on its head, Taka's sheer bullheadedness and obliviousness might act as a natural counter-agent to Monaca's stratagem of picking at insecurities, making him someone who doesn't get side-tracked by her normal tactics (but also making Mondo a much more attractive target for her schemes . . .) All in all, there's a lot you can play with there! Noice!
---
[from this comic] You know what; Junko pretty much canonically just goes around nicking other people's ideas and smushing them into her killing game anyway! Hell I don't think she even came up with monokuma on her own
"smoothie of ambiguous content" is a true Mukuro mood
---
[from this ask again] Mukuro's not one to mince her words after all XD
@spacepaprika The idea of the Ultimate Moral Compass just flat out admitting to a criminal record is unironically hilarious to me - especially given Makoto 'I pissed the bed' Naegi's "dark secret". However I think a criminal record would probably kill any chances he had of becoming Prime Minister. I do have my own idea of what that secret might be, and I plan to put it in a comic . . . 👀 without context - it involves him having been expelled from his middle school *sows seeds of intrigue*
---
@darkephantylight191 Mondo never pulled any pranks himself, but he certainly didn't stop anyone else from doing it. He was the most vocal and blatant about breaking the few rules Hope's Peak actually has and basically constantly found himself in Taka's crosshairs, and Taka wouldn't let even the smallest infraction go. Essentially they both riled the other up, sometimes completely intentionally as they'd both assumed the other was exactly the type of person they hated, without actually finding out if that was true or not.
