claire biggs quotes in keeping 13
“Smile, Claire-Bear," he coaxed, keeping his hand on her hip. "No one could say no to the sun.”
“Joey was sprawled across the back seat, with his legs on top of Claire and his head in my lap. To her credit, Claire didn't complain or shove him off her. Instead, she proved the theory I had that she was the kindest person in the world by removing her coat and draping it over his trembling body.”
“Shut the front door!" Claire squealed, clapping and bouncing excitedly. "Oh my god! Oh my god!”
“Aww," Claire gushed, clutching her chest with both hands. "I love them together." She feign-swooned before adding, "It's like a Great Dane and a Chihuahua trying to mate, but they somehow make it work.”
“He picked her up, Liz," Claire squealed, as Lizzie dragged her away. "Did you see that?"
"Yeah, I saw it, now let's go, whore." Keeping her hands on Claire's shoulders, Lizzie pushed her in the direction of the office. "We need to tell Mr. Twomey that we found her."
"But, Liz, he actually picked her up to kiss her!"
“Back off, buddy," Claire warned, coming to stand beside me. "I have a weapon –" she pointed over Darren's shoulder, "He's right over there and I'm not afraid to call him.”
“Claire rolled her eyes. "He's your boyfriend, Shan. You should know that he spends every hour of his waking day working out." She flexed her bicep and kissed it before adding, "Chasing those gains.”
“Good god, you're like a Bratz Doll with those big, popping eyes and all that hair," she said excitedly, standing up to take in my appearance. "You're so cute it hurts.”
“By the way, Johnny's parked outside."
My eyes widened. "H-he is?"
"Yay – let's go!" Clapping, Claire butted Hughie out of the way with her hip. "I'm so excited."
"Calm down," Lizzie grumbled. "You're not going."
"I'm a vicarious spirit," Claire replied. "I live for this stuff.”
“Don't feel bad, Johnny," Claire said, plopping down on his bed as if she owned it. "Your parents are both hot, and hot people tend to have hot sex with one another."
"Wow, Claire, thanks so much for the insight," Johnny deadpanned. "I feel a lot better now."
"You're welcome," she chirped, sifting through a stack of magazines and papers on his bedside locker.”
“Fine, I'll do the makeover."
"Yay," Claire squealed, clapping her hands. "Thank you, Shannon."
"Turncoat," Lizzie muttered under her breath.
"For that, you're going first," Claire countered, grinning devilishly at Lizzie. "And I'm starting with that unibrow.”
“It's a lovely place," Claire said with a heavy sigh. "It has a river and it's surrounded by a woodland." Grabbing a selection of green, white, and gold colored rugby ball shaped balloons out of the back of Johnny's car, she shrugged. "It's absolutely beautiful here, and I promise we'll have fun.”
You keep that head up," he ordered, tipping her chin with his thumb. "Don't you dare hide that angel face from the world."
“It's okay, though, because I'm totally down for kicking her ass. I delivered babies with Gerard this summer. Nothing scares me anymore.”
“Doesn't she look like sunshine?" Gibsie croaked out, slapping my chest. "Look at that fucking girl, lad!”
“Morning," Claire chirped as she crawled in after him, with a full face of makeup and her clothes on point. "How are my favorite lovebirds? Ready for another amazing day?"
"Do you have batteries I can take out?" Johnny asked her. "Your optimism is endless."
"I'm a sunny-side up kind of girl,”
“with Claire on his shoulders. She didn’t look scared– quite the opposite. She had every faith in him not dropping her head-first into the masses. I found that strange considering the boy had already lost both of her wellies and her t-shirt in the crowd. It didn’t seem to faze Claire one bit, though. She had her hands in the air, laughing and singing along with the band and the sixty thousand or so people surrounding us.”
“This is going to be our best year yet, girls," Claire declared, looking her usual pristine self, with her hips swaying and her blonde curls bouncing as she walked. "I can feel it in my bones.”
