might start plushblogging here as well, because casual/hobbyist plush animal collecting has been my Thing since i was little, & i've taken a big step in expanding my hoard~
plus, like. animal plushies are something important to me, and maybe even part of my identity. there's a kinship there that i might label as 'hearted, if i start really examining it.
at any rate - the FAO Schwarz wolf from 2007; an out of production beauty that i've been dreaming of for years now. my holy grail.
i finally got my paws on one >:]
the number of times i've Already refreshed the order status page, even though i only purchased it about a half hour ago, is. um. <3<3<3
so, pardon while i nerd out a little about it below the cut lol
the 2007 pattern was replaced with a way lesser quality build in 2010, then replaced entirely with a different pattern around 2013. see this comparison photo for build quality reference. the original's considered vintage from all the listings i'd seen. granted, it's not being manufactured anymore so that's kinda valid from a selling point, but 2007 was (only???) 16 years ago. oh god 2007 was 16 years ago. help.
i Love this plush with every fiber of my being, already. like... look at it. its design is peak 2000s Wolf Girl Aesthetic, and i'm gonna treasure this sonofabitch like an heirloom.
just looking at the fur texture i know this is gonna be on par with my Douglas wolves (the tyson & smoke models), if not nicer in some ways. (both tyson & smoke have rougher textured "upper coats," while their belly / under fur sections have a much softer feel.) this guy looks like it'll be the same texture all over (aside from the lower legs / muzzle / ears).
these guys usually get listed for upwards of $600-$700+ (i'd seen some go for about $900) which like. Ahhhhhh Not In My Budget. needless to say, when a listing was offered for $400, i was not about to hold myself back bSDGAhdFGTH-
