a list of every anime i love/recommend, accumulated over the last 10+ years
1. NATSUME YUUJINCHOU
Tumblr media
SUMMARY/REVIEW:
The main character is a teenage boy named Natsume, whose parents died when he was too young to remember them properly. He’s passed around random relatives homes, but because he can see yokai (spirits), he’s ostracized by classmates and his foster families (ALL HIS CHILDHOOD FLASHBACKS ARE SO FUCKING SAD) and eventually very distant relatives (an older couple who never had kids of their own and have so much goddamn love to give D:!!!) take Natsume in, and the story basically starts from there.
It’s a very heart-warming story following Natsume’s new life in this new town, accepting his ability to see yokai, forging new relationships in the form of friends and family, and even with the yokai themselves.
This is honestly probably my favorite anime/manga period, because it’s so sad but so cathartic and you watch as the main character grows and learns to trust those around him, and finally gets the unconditional love he’s always deserved, not to MENTION THE FACT THAT THEY DO A WHOLE EP WHERE NATSUME IS TURNED BACK INTO A LITTLE KID AND IT IS SOOOO GOOD OMG
Plus for those of you who enjoy whump, this show has a decent amount of it. Mainly emotional whump, but also some episodes where Natsume is injured or sick--as well as I believe one where his companion (the chubby cat on his shoulder who’s actually a pretty badass yokai) gets shot with an arrow and is down for the count.
10/10 would and have watched again.
2. KODOCHA NO OMOCHA
Tumblr media
SUMMARY/REVIEW:  The main character is a sixth grader named Sana. She’s a gifted actress on a t.v. show everyone likes and she’s silly and fun, very intuitive and surprisingly empathetic for a child.
Her main problem is in school, where Akito, who she deems the leader of her class’ wolf pack of rowdy rude boys, lets them terrorize not just the teacher, but all the girls in class, as well.
I don’t really want to give a lot away, so I’ll just state the obvious. This anime/manga is shoujo, which means that it does focus on a romantic relationship throughout the series. Mainly the one between Sana and Akito. Sana is absolutely oblivious about her own feelings, while Akito is a stubborn little shit.
I remember watching this at like, age 12 maybe? And I really enjoyed it because (although I do enjoy your typical silly doesn’t take itself too seriously slice of life shoujo) this particular anime, while super funny and light hearted at times, was also really dramatic and even kinda dark, which was surprising considering the characters ages and the general kid-friendly vibe (especially the opening for the anime).
3. DETECTIVE CONAN
Tumblr media
SUMMARY/REVIEW:  Our main character is initially Shinichi Kudo, teenage detective, who’s on a date with childhood sweetheart Ran (whose father also happens to a detective but like....not a good one lmao), when his nosy ass self decides to go and check out some shady business and gets “poisoned”.
The poison he’s given is intended to kill him, but what it actually does is turn him back into a child. And now, as Conan Edogawa, (who’s 7 but like....we just supposed to believe all these cops and detectives on the force are cool with a seven year old wee lil babe on these really gruesome ass crime scenes??? lmaoooo) we follow him on his adventures as he solves crimes and tries to solve the biggest mystery of all, his own!
I absolutely LOVE this anime/manga, even though I’ll be honest, there is SO MUCH FILLER, but I like the characters enough that I really don’t mind. The show is at least 900+ episodes in at this point, and there are a total of 26 movies so far, last time I checked.
Also, the show is a whump fangirls’ dream come true. The main character is thrown out of windows, balconies, shot at, and in one occasion actually shot, he’s had broken bones, sprains, almost been blown up or drowned/burned, been sick, and oh, his occasional transformations from child to teenager are incredibly painful.
This show is probably at fault for my love of whump, since it was one of my first animes at like, age 9. smh.
4. THE DEVIL IS A PART-TIMER!
Tumblr media
REVIEW:
I’m not even going to summarize this one. The title does it for me. This is truly one of the funniest animes I’ve ever seen. Motherfuckin Satan works at a McDonalds part time and it is the BEST.
Technically I would count this show as a kind of harem, but only because there are like three main girl characters after the overlord Satan himself. I usually dislike harem type animes but the way this is done is sooooo good I couldn’t resist.
I would watch a million filler episodes of Satan trying to solve problems at his minimum wage job tbh. I love every single character, I love the plot, I love everything about this anime! In terms of comedy (with the occasional plot driven serious moments) this is IT bro.
5. BLACK BUTLER
Tumblr media
SUMMARY/REVIEW:
The main character is Ciel Phantomhive (roughly 14 years old). His parents are killed, his house is burned to ashes, and he’s kidnapped (around age 9 or 10 I believe) and abused. During this abuse Ciel calls upon a demon to free him and help him get revenge on those who harmed the Phantomhive household, which is where Sebastian, one “hell of a good butler” comes in.
We then follow Ciel and Sebastian on their path of vengeance, and along the way we meet Ciel’s human servants, three very clumsy and seemingly bad at their given tasks characters (i love them all), and some of his extended relatives and connections.
My favorite thing about Black Butler is the art, both in the anime and manga. Everything is so detailed and pretty!
The characters are interesting, the plot is dark but they manage to make most of the series overall pretty light-hearted and funny in general. Though of course there are chapters/parts of the series that get really grim (which duh, the whole thing focuses on revenge so...)
I have to say, the arc I enjoyed the most has to be the movie, Black Butler: Book Of the Atlantic. It is beautifully drawn and sooooooo entertaining.
6. INUYASHA
Tumblr media
SUMMARY/REVIEW:
Our main characters are Inuyasha, a half-demon, who’s been in a sort of spiritually binding coma for the last few decades, and fourteen year old Kagome, who falls into an old well in her family’s shrine and finds herself being transported into another time period.
Together, she and Inuyasha travel across the lands in the feudal era to find the scattered shards of the shikon jewel, a powerful jewel which grants anyone who possesses it ultimate power.
I was too young to stay up and watch Inuyasha on adult swim, so my mom would tape the show on a VCR for me to watch the next day after school--yes, I’m old old. lmaoooo I ADORE this show.
It’s so good! It’s got everything! A tortured lil half-demon with a sad past who’s stubborn and rude but got a good heart! A fierce and equally as stubborn main protagonist, who’s whole ass family knows exactly where she goes off to??? and are supportive af????? like???? her mama packs her and her squad of demon/exorcist/demon hunter pals bentos?!?! lmao i love it.
The characters are awesome and funny and likable as all heck, and of course they all have their sad backstory, but like, unlike some animes (lookin at YOU Naruto) they don’t go mega overboard on it, at least not without some plot behind the episode.
7. YU YU HAKUSHO
Tumblr media
SUMMARY/REVIEW:
Before I even start in on the summary, ya’ll should watch this soley bc of the cute ass 90′s style animation alone. LOOK AT ALL THAT SHINY HAIR!
ANYWAY. Main character is teenage hooligan and overall cutie pie Yusuke! He gets struck by a car and fucking DIES in the first episode after shoving a little boy out of the way, only to end up in the spirit world where the head honcho up there (who looks like a wee baby) tells him “Oh shit, didn’t expect you to like, actually do anything self-sacrificing EVER so like, you’re not on our list of people who were supposed to die today...”
And uh, I don’t wanna give anything away, so I’m just gonna say that if you haven’t seen this anime yet, you definitely should! It’s hilarious and dramatic, the fight scenes are very well done, all the side characters, who eventually become main characters are a blessing (specifically Hiei, who’ve I’ve had a crush on since I was 12) and the ending is a satisfying one, which you can’t really say for a lot of media.
8. CHRONO CRUSADE
Tumblr media
SUMMARY/REVIEW:
I still get weepy when I think of this anime, so all I’ll say is it’s about a badass demon slaying nurse and her demon companion and some very tragic shit.
It’s a great anime overall, especially if you like crying yourself to sleep at night :)
9. GHOST HUNT
Tumblr media
SUMMARY/REVIEW:
The main character is high school student Mai, who is hired by Naru, the head of a Shibuya psychic research, and together, with a group of questionable exorcists/psychics, they encounter paranormal phenomenons and some outright scary shit.
I’m not really a fan of the horror genre tbh but I do like mystery, and the series deals with that quite a bit. They deal with each case for several episodes so nothing feels too rushed.
The series is really fun in a creepy, wtf is that way. I recommend the manga, only because it’s more detailed in terms of plot than the anime.
10. ASSASSINATION CLASSROOM
Tumblr media
SUMMARY/REVIEW:
I didn’t really make this list in any particular order but if I had to say, Assassination Classroom and Natsume Yuujinchou probably tie for BEST ANIME PERIOD!
This anime is about a weird ass “alien” creature, no one knows where it came from or why tf it’s here on earth, all they know is that in one year it’s threatened to blow the world up.
His only request to the government is that they let him become a teacher for Class E, the worst class of Kunugigaoka Junior High School, and he will stay put, so that they can attempt an assassination on him during this one year period.
AND LISTEN! I am a shallow hoe, so I literally never would have read this manga or watched the series had I not been roaming Barnes and Noble one day with my S.O. and picked it up to read as a JOKE!
I was hooked after the first chapter and I am soooooooo glad I picked this manga up, bc it is absolutely not the type I would normally go for, cover art wise. I finally, after many many years, learned not to judge a book by its cover bc LORD this anime is so goddamn good, you don’t understand! Like, I’ve watched it so many times and still laugh at the same parts, cry at the same parts, am proud af at the same parts! like, this anime is an instant classic and should definitely be more popular than it is.
assassination classroom and natsume yuujinchou????? MASTERPIECES!

I tried to limit my choices to my MOST current fandoms/obsessions, otherwise, I’d never be able to decide.
Whenever Good Smile posts these "surveys for fun", I can't help but think they're trying to gauge which figures they should make next.   In that case SCHOOL UNIFORM PERSONA 5 NENDOROIDS!!!  AND PHANTOM THIEF FUTABA SAKURA NENDOROID!  And yes, I want Nendoroids for “My Next Life as a Villainess”, but my wallet doesn’t!  ;o;!   Hopefully, listing Akira Kurusu on a Good Smile Company survey like this will ensure he'll get more figures.  I'm actually not sure if I'd consider him my husbando.  I just want more figures, especially Nendoroids.  lol
Best Boy / Best Girl: I hate choosing just one.  But if I go with my most recent favorites, it'll help narrow things down.   Ryuji Sakamoto / Maria Campbell Ryuji Sakamoto / Catarina Claes LOL  it's been a long time since I loved a super genki gutsy girl like Catarina.  Maybe not since Lina Inverse!  lol  There have been a lot of kuudere queens since Lina.  lol  Though...I guess if you count Rukia's sillier moments, maybe she can be pretty genki and enthusiastic?   . Waifu / Husbando:   Maria Campbell / Akira Kurusu I wasn't expecting to separate Best Boy/Girl from Husbando/Waifu.  o.o?  Once again, I'll go with my latest fandoms, just to make it easier.  But Akira?  Husbando material???  I guess?...  He is really cool.  He just doesn't cause those stupid zoned-out warm smiles to spread across your face, the way Ryuji Sakamoto does.  But that's why I choose Ryuji as Best Boy.  Though I guess I'm constantly swooning over how goddamned pretty Akira is.  How did Soejima design such a goddmaned pretty bishounen?!  Damn it!  But if we're talking about crushes, I can be absolutely sure about Maria.  I'm a sucker for ingenue.  She definitely causes those doki doki, forget-to-breath, then sigh stupidly moments.  *___* If I was still as obsessed with DateSana as I used to be, I probably would have chosen one of them.  Probably Yukimura.  He's the most perfect cinnamon roll to have ever cinnamon rolled!  ...But that's not the series I'm obsessed with right now.  .....Though, I've always liked Mido Ban.  He's both silly and cool.  ^.^  I'll try looking through my old #husbando Tumblr posts.   (https://mysticdragon3md3.tumblr.com/post/156909097412/rightstufanime-in-celebration-of-valentines) (https://mysticdragon3md3.tumblr.com/post/125329019812/this-was-supposed-to-be-a-chart-of-characters-i) (https://mysticdragon3md3.tumblr.com/post/125373206597/the-other-day-i-made-a-chart-of-my-favorite) Seems like I was just using the word "husbando" for my favorite characters, and not for characters I was crushing on.  Well, this is going to make it akward to put merely a "favorite character" next to "Maria Campbell" who makes me swoon.   I think the problem is that since I grew up very anti-girlygirl and am still in the process of getting over that, I have some kind of mental block vs admitting if I have a crush on a male character.  And I have such low self esteem, that I can't "see" myself with anyone.  Whereas with waifu, there's no stigma in my psyche, so I can just unabashedly admit when I'm drooling over a girl and just stupid in love.  So if I have to think of a male character that makes me feel the same as an ingenue like Maria Campbell, then it'd have to be someone that I just stupidly smile and sigh in the presence of, especially when they smile or whenever they talk, someone for whom I always want to protect their happiness and rain adoration onto...  The funny thing is that when I compare (https://mysticdragon3md3.tumblr.com/post/125329019812/this-was-supposed-to-be-a-chart-of-characters-i) vs (https://mysticdragon3md3.tumblr.com/post/125373206597/the-other-day-i-made-a-chart-of-my-favorite), there are a lot of favorite characters who I think are the coolest and I respect the most, but I'm not a drooling crushing idiot, over everything they say.  Actually, the characters in the more expanded list (https://mysticdragon3md3.tumblr.com/post/125329019812/this-was-supposed-to-be-a-chart-of-characters-i), who are more like secondary favorite characters, better fit that reaction from me.  Like Makoto Tachibana.  He's like an ingenue shojo stuck in a boy's body.  Everything he says and does is precious.  Yet, as much as I like him, he didn't make the cut into my narrower list of favorite characters (https://mysticdragon3md3.tumblr.com/post/125373206597/the-other-day-i-made-a-chart-of-my-favorite). If I stick to current fandoms and choose Akira Kurusu as husbando, that would explain why I tend to be jealous over him.  Ryuji, I can ship with Ann or entertain other people's ship art with Ryuji, even though I prefer Ryuji with Akira.  But if I catch even a glimpse of anyone besides Ryuji with Akira, I click away from the entire website!  Like a voice in my head will not tolerate anyone with Akira who isn't Ryuji!  ^^;;;;;;;  Maybe that's a sign that Akira is my husbando.  ...Am I saying jealousy can be equated to the adoration I feel for ingenues like Maria Campbell?!?  That doesn't sound right.     Y'know what?  If I don't have an answer for husbando, then I just don't have an answer for husbando.   . Must see arc:   omg  I don't know.  Are we talking about just anime?  I guess if I added manga, it would just make the indecision harder on myself.  x_x;  I guess I always did like that last arc in Code Geass enough to re-watch it a zillion times.   Emperor Lelouch story arc (Code Geass) . Best anime OP/ED:   If we're going with current obsessions, lately a day hardly goes by without the Carole & Tuesday opening theme going through my head.  Though I do love anything by Asian Kung Fu Generation and T.M.Revolution/Abingdon Boys School/Takanori Nishikawa.  His Kamen Rider Zero One opening theme is amazing!  *u*  And I really love the themes from Fullmetal Alchemist's "Rewrite" opening theme from Asian Kung Fu Generation.  But L'Arc En Ciel's opening theme for FMA was also amazing...  And I love Yui; she's done a lot of anime themes...  See, this is why I said to limit myself to current obsessions.  So, "Kiss Me" by Nai Br. XX and Celeina Ann.   As for ending theme...?  I've always loved the ending theme for the Devil May Cry anime.  I had my eye on Oikawa Rin ever since she did the insert song "She Said" for the live action movie Kamikaze Girls. And I think she's done some Mamoru Hosoda movies too---Wait.  That was Hanako Oku.  Her music is good too!  *o*   I wonder if I could just pick one song instead of 1 opening theme AND 1 ending theme.  I'm too indecisive for 2 songs.   Well, since I'm limiting myself to only my most current fandoms, then I wouldn't have to check too many songs.  Haikyuu to the Top has a good ending theme.  I think Dr. Stone had a good one too.  And since I'm now watching My Next Life as a Villainess, I can add that to the candidates.   Dr. Stone's ending theme is good, but it's not as invigorating as Haikyuu season 4's.  At least to me. Naw, MNLAAV's ED is kind of typical.  Haikyuu s4's ED really grabs me.  "Kessen Spirit" (Haikyuu to the Top) . Best weapon:   ??????????????????  Should I include magical powers too??????  I've always liked swords.  So, magic sword?  Or am I supposed to be specific?  Like a specific mecha or specific Persona?  Should I include skills?  Like Hinata Shoyo's athleticism?  Should the answer be metaphysical, like how Love motivated Homura Akemi to re-make the universe?  But maybe "best weapon" is necessarily the most powerful.  Should it be the tool that enables the most good? A metaphysical tool that does good has got to be a Shonen protagonist's determination.  Y'know what I've always liked?  The innovation in Ranma Saotome's martial arts skill.  Someone online commented a LONG time ago, that Ranma can pretty much learn any martial arts technique, even really difficult ones, sometimes overnight or in a week.  And during a lot of his duels, he often has to throw out whatever technique he trained for, specifically to use against that opponent, and come up with something on the fly.  And that impromptu fighting technique usually works!  So is the best weapon a "sharp mind"?  Maybe I should just say "magical swords" to be simple and humorous.  It'd be really cool if I could think of something specific as my favorite.  Y'know what?  It's already 12:57 AM 5/16/2020.  I'm gonna go with "a sharp mind".  It was what made Nabiki Tendo dominate every situation, it's a key component to Lelouch vi Britannia whom I love so much.  ...a sharp mind & martial arts...  Now that I'm filling it out, maybe I should just pick a personal favorite weapon, vs "the best".  How about Natsume Takashi's compassion?  "magic sword, sharp mind, Shonen protagonist's determination".  Titual character plot armor?  lol   "Shonen protagonist's determination; Shojo protagonist's compassion" . Best mecha: I've never really been into mecha.  Even when I was obsessed with Magic Knight Rayearth, I still wasn't that interested in their mecha.  I usually always say "Deathscythe Hell" is my favorite mecha, because even though I'm not into that much mecha anime, I used to be into Gundam Wing, Duo was my favorite, his mecha was really distinct with its scythe, and his emotional connection with it was very endearing.  But Code Geass is one of my favorite anime now.  Gurren is cool, becasue Kallen Kozuki is cool and they've both been through a lot together.  But I feel like I should say Shinkiro is best mecha, since I love Lelouch.  Earlier today, Bluefin revealed a new figurine for the Shinkiro and my jaw dropped.  Maybe I should say Shinkiro?  But I don't really know even the specifics of Shinkiro? Maybe that's not a requirement.  Maybe I should just put anything, since I'm not a mecha expert.  Maybe I should go "classic" with Escaflowne?  Naw, that's a copout, not my personal answer.  The problem with choosing the Guren or Shinkiro is that I'm not so much favoring the mecha, as much as I am the pilot.  But the question is about the mecha.  In terms of capabilities, Shinkiro's calculating abilities might be more amazing, but only Lelouch specifically can use it.  But that ability can be used for both calculating defense and attacks... And the lazer dispersing gem on the Shinkiro is pretty cool too.  I guess I like the aesthetics of Shinkiro better than Guren.  But Guren's Radiant Waver Surger arm has turned the tide of so many battles, I can't help but be emotionally attached to that capability too. And should I say "Guren", "Guren Mark II", or "Guren Seiten" is best?  I love Guren Seiten's wings.  Y'know what?  I'm just gonna put both.  "Guren Seiten / Shinkiro"

this ship thing is beautiful omg. could i ask for sebastian/bard? it's somehow become a favorite of mine lmao
Sebastian x Bard? Why not lmao (also consulted the official Kuroshitsuji wiki page and apparently Bard’s full name is spelled Baldroy not Bardroy. Who knew)
Who is more likely to catch a cold? Bard—but he’s prone to self medicating with “good Tennessee whiskey.” Sebastian’s response?
“You’re completely congested and burning up,” Sebastian chided firmly, leaving no room for argument. “I’ve prepared beef consommé so your throat won’t be irritated—at least until you’re well again.” He smirked.
Bard, all but tied to the bed, glared.
Who hogs the blankets? Neither—Bard likes to sleep in the nude and Sebastian does not mind. At all.
Who kills all the flowers? Bard. With a flamethrower.
The sharp canines of Sebastian’s teeth glinted under the pale January sun. “What,” he grit his teeth, vein in his head throbbing, “do you think you’re doing?”
“Fixing the garden.” Bard replied easily, tossing his goggles off his head.
“You’ve ruined the winter camellias.”
Bard’s answer is quite simple. Almost insultingly so—
“Have I?” He glanced down at the charred remains of the blush pink blossoms. “Guess I did.”
“Did you do this on purpose?” Sebastian tried to keep his voice even, tried to keep his hand from morphing into a claw sharp enough to slash through Baldroy’s ridiculous flame contraption—
He might care for the blue-eyed pyromanic but that didn’t mean Bard couldn’t frustrate Sebastian to the pits of hell and beyond.
He took a deep breath. If this was an accident, Sebastian reasoned (though he seriously doubted it), he could forgive Baldroy’s lapse of judgement.
His very severe lack of judgement.
“Well?” Sebastian prompted, blinking needlessly to keep his crimson irises at bay.
Bard grinned. “Nope.”
“…Then why in the name of all that is—“
“Er—call it an experiment gone awry?” He shrugged. “Am I going to get punished, boss?”
“More than you might think.” Sebastian’s smile turned feral. “And as I don’t trust you to clean this up yourself…”
In a blur of ivory and onyx, Sebastian’s white-gloved hand was cupping Baldroy’s jaw in a grip that threatened to shatter. “I’ll tidy this mess up. You can head to the edge of the maple woods. Strip. Tie yourself to the center pole and don’t move until I tell you to.”
Who eats all the candy before Halloween? Neither. Bard prefers cigarettes and Sebastian hates sweets. (Hence why he enjoys the smoky, slightly bitter taste of Bard’s kisses, stained with American cigarettes and amber whiskey.)
Who takes the longest showers? Neither. Bard was in the military before his Phantomhive gig and never got out of the habit of taking quick five minute showers. Of course that gives Sebastian ample time to watch Bard walking back and forth between his room and the bathroom cause Bard forgets to bring his clothes with him whenever he bathes.
Who goes to bed at 5am but wakes up at 8am? Bard. He uses the cover of night to test out new explosives and detonation devices.
Sebastian sometimes goes to watch the fireworks.
Who makes sure the other has a healthy breakfast? Sebastian. (“Even you can’t possibly survive on hard liquor and cigarettes.” Sebastian pushed the plate of roast ham and omelets towards him. “There’s something to be said about a man who does as he’s told.” The butler’s smile turned wicked. “Fortune and pleasure tend to favor them heavily.”)
What pets do they have? No pets. Sebastian’s worried Bard might start using his cats as detonation test pilots.
Wedding
Who proposes? Well…neither. They just kinda:
“Oi, Sebastian! Hey!”
“I can hear you perfectly well, Baldroy.”
“Great.” The blonde haired chef emptied a dusty valise on the floor. “Found my old military suitcase and thought I’d sort it out with you.”
“My sincerest apologies but I find myself indisposed at the moment—“
“Everyone knows you can make tea with your eyes closed.” Bard situated himself on the floor, hands busy tossing old memorabilia left and right. “Take a break, why don’t ya.”
Sebastian sighed, setting down the porcelain teapot and coming to stand beside the blonde.
“Oh, and this is for you.” The chef threw a small velvet box at Sebastian. “Been meaning to give it to you for a while.”
Sebastian opened it, somewhat annoyed but more amused than not before he realized what he was holding.
“Is this…an engagement ring?” The butler’s cool tone gave way to shock (smothered as it was) while Bard continued rummaging through the suitcase.
“Uh, yeah. Belonged to my grandmother—said it was given to her by one of those radicals. The uh, constitution people.”
“The founding fathers of America, you mean.”
“Uh-huh. Yeah—that was it.”
“And you’re…giving it to me?”
“Sure.”
“But…why?”
“Well I have to give you something in order for you to say yes.”
“Yes? You haven’t yet posed a question—“
“No point now—you’re marrying me Michaelis.”
Who actually enjoyed the planning? Sebastian—once he got over the complete and absolute shock of Bard’s “proposal.”
Would their wedding be small or grand? Small and intimate. Sebastian didn’t quite understand why people even needed to be invited but figured it was a great chance for him to show off the 20 layer wedding cake he baked because why not.
Which guest was happiest to see them get married? Honestly? Ciel. He even brought in a sketch artist from Georgia to record the whole thing for posterity. (“The bastard may be getting my soul but I’m stealing his dignity.”)
Children
How many children would they have? Initially they agreed not to have any kids. Squealing, red-faced bothersome brats the whole lot of them. But, er, this changed after Bard’s niece was orphaned and suddenly he and Sebastian found themselves coparents to a precocious five year old named Zadie.
Would they adopt or have them naturally? Neither—they’re just handed a kid by social services. (Or in the Victorian era, by very exasperated lawyers.)
Who is the strictest parent? Sebastian. (“Absolutely no setting things on fire while indoors and if you feel the need to decimate some inanimate object then may I suggest releasing that energy on the oakwood branches near the west forest? I’m afraid they’re rather sturdy things and ought to tire you out quickly enough.”)
Are their children in homeschool or public school? Privately tutored until she’s old enough to attend public school because Bard figured “just because we’re emotionally traumatized 30-something year olds doesn’t mean our kid has to be.”
Who is the favorite parent? Bard—only because Zadie can con him into anything with enough contraband fireworks. How she got them? Nobody knows—and Sebastian is fiercely proud of that fact.
Who checks on the kids in the middle of the night? Sebastian. Dude never sleeps.
Who decorated the nursery? Sebastian. And Bard. And Zadie. Considering Zadie was five and old enough to know what she liked and disliked, Sebastian found himself catering to a notoriously hard to please little girl and just when he was about to rain hellfire from above, Zadie turned to him, blue eyes wide and cheerful and wearing the sweetest smile going—
“You did it Uncle Sebastian! You found the perfect shade of pink! Just like Uncle Bard said, you are the best!”
(Cue Sebastian’s somewhat smarmy bow and smirk while on the inside he’s weeping tears of joy because Zadie just called him the best and perfect and finally validated his excessive showboating existence.)

Your anon isn’t on! But I’ll publicly assume you have a very open mind when it comes to music~
Omg I have to turn on the anon thing??? I thought it’s automatic :D Thanks for pointing that out, I’ll fix it!
Hmmm, open mind... It’s true that I’ve come across a lot of different styles of music. During my childhood and early teenage years, it was mostly 80′s hits (cause we had a 4 disc collection at home lol), Era, Sarah Brightman and various mystical meditation music and movie soundtracks (LOTR, HP, I remember blasting Black Hawk Down, Moulin Rouge), then Rufus Wainwright and his whole family came into my life (through Shrek soundtrack lol) and from there I got to know Teddy Thompson, Regina Spektor, Ben Folds. Sinead O’Connor was a big part of my young adult life. Then Japan and anime hit me, so, welcome, Gackt, Radwimps, Malice Mizer, X-Japan, L’Arc-en-Ciel, Seikima II and a lot of visual kei ska bands I can’t remember now. Somewhere later TVXQ and BoA waved at me like “Hey! We’re here too!” Inbetween those, there was a lot of of “normal and ordinary” music too - Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, Offspring, Usher, Shaggy (all of this of course on burnt CDs). How about some Ben Howard, Will Young, Imogen Heap, The Corrs, Melissa Auf der Maur, Loreena McKennit, Tori Amos, Jeff Buckley, Passenger, Arctic Monkeys, KT Tunstall, Rilo Kiley, The Kooks ~~~~~ Yeah, and now I’m here. Huh...
I don’t know if I can say that I am open minded, but I can definitely say I’d listened to lots of different styles and when there is something that just doesn’t leave that big of an impression on me, I just move on without commenting on it any further.
Thank you for the ask!!! <3 <3 <3

I would like a friendship and romantic matchup please with someone from Black Butler, Death Note, and Bleach? Just type matchup on my blog search box, and you will find all the information you need on me. =) - requested by @artsy-jandi
This is a big request, so it took a while - sorry for the wait; I also had shit go down with my laptop, so that’s why it’s been several days since I said it’d be posted. Your description was incredibly detailed! I’ve summed it up to make it easier on myself and based on that, your platonic and romantic ships are...
Black Butler - friendship matchup
Elizabeth Midford
- I think you and Lizzie would really get on well
- While she’s loud and boisterous, she also carries a serious side, which I think comes from the fact that she’s a Phantomhive
- Lizzie can sometimes upset people without meaning to, and even when you say nothing, she’d feel terrible and would cry over her mistake; she’d certainly go to great lengths to make up for it
- She’d bring some light and warmth to your life, especially in the moments where the dark is harder than usual to contain
- You’d both be very protective of each other, woe betide anyone who upsets or hurts either one of you - together, you’re a force to be reckoned with
- She’d also encourage you to spend a little less time in your daydreams and a bit more time being productive
- However, if you’re being productive while daydreaming, she’ll take a step back, satisfied that your’re doing the best you can
- She wouldn’t pick up on those moments when you’d like to be left alone with your stories, and if you don’t tell her, she’ll keep being Lizzie, which could lead to confrontation
- I think this is when someone else in the household would step in, probably Ciel, who would understand the need for solitude, and would distract Lizzie for you, or tell her to leave because he has ‘errands’ to do [Read: wants her to leave because she’s too loud for him over a long period of time].
Black Butler - romantic matchup
Sebastian Michaelis
- Slightly ironic, I won’t lie. but hear me out
- Your procrastination would intrigue him - why are you putting off what needs to be done? What are you thinking so deeply about? Why do you prefer your own company over other people’s? And the questions would go on...
- He’d be greatly interested in your soul - not so much as he is in Ciel’s, of course, but your soul has been tainted too because of your past, and he’d want to see how it affects you in every day life.
- BUT despite the fact he’s a demon, he’s also going to appreciate your humanity - the humanity that he knows will kill people for money and also for their own survival, and the fact that you have compassion despite everything you’ve been through, will intrigue and surprise him.
- He’d stick to you like glue (not like he does with Ciel, that’s totally different) and would often watch you, being interested in the fact that you haven’t let life get you down or change who you are at your core, despite your soul being blackened by tragedy
- Don’t even think about Sebastian talking to you or interacting with you when he’s around your cats. Just don’t. It’s impossible to tear him away.
- He’d indulge your interest in cultures and literature - he’d bring you the finest, oldest, leather-bound books from dusty libraries, he’d brew you the oldest teas and make you remedies for your hair and skin, importing the ingredients from various countries depending on the ingredient’s properties and what they can do for you, and he’d spoil you, for sure.
- Would be content to let you daydream - he’s a Butler, after all. Busy!
- He’d try to tempt you to the ‘dark side’ but your stubbornness and strength to keep your promises would impress him - humans are such fascinating creatures
Death Note - friendship matchup
Misa Amane
- So. She’s a lot like Lizzie, I think, though she has her fair share of darkness, too.
- The two of you would bond over shopping and having your own dreams - whether you share them with each other or not is silently agreed in the moment
- Misa would understand your devotion to God and the importance of keeping promises - she’s entirely dedicated to Light and would do anything for him - this mutual understanding would definitely pave the way for a strong friendship
- You’d spend nights together, pampering yourselves - maincures, pedicures, hair treatments, skin treatments... the full works. You’d make your own home remedies and Misa would get all the ingredients
- You’re both very protective of each other, for sure.
- Misa wouldn’t ever tell you this, but she would literally kill for you - all she needs is a name. And, once she has the eyes, all she needs is a face.
- If someone so much as looked at you wrong, they’d never be seen again.
- She acts too, so you’d bond over this as well.
- It’d be an almost one-side obsessive friendship, with many secrets lying just beneath the surface - and none of them are yours.
Death Note - romantic matchup
Matt
- Matt is incredibly understanding and very intelligent, and I think it’d be a rather... casual relationship
- You’d be the couple that don’t act as though you’re together, but you are, if that makes sense
- He’d never ever so much as tempt you into breaking your promise to your mum, and if he did, it’d be completely accidental and he’d apologise and be more mindful of himself in future
- He’d appreciate your creative side and would encourage it - he’d tell you to not let your dreams just be dreams, and to make as many of them come true as possible
- Very protective of you - you’d be his one motivation for living and for doing what he needs to do to get to where he wants to be. Simply put, you’re his reason
- He’s not religious, but he’d understand your devotion to someone greater than yourself and would encourage you to stay as close to Him as you already are
- I think he’d know when you need alone time to be with you and your daydreams, and he’d give you that space. He can get insecure sometimes, but all he’d need is one word, and he’s reassured
- He’s incredibly supportive of you - you’re his only light, and he’ll do all he can to make sure that no one so much as even dims that light - not even you
- Would find your daydreaming endearing, and would often game while you’re doing chores or something else, lost inside your own mind. He’d only pull you out of your dreaming if he needed to.
Bleach - friendship matchup
Rukia Kuchiki
- OMG okay, you’re both daydreamers to. the. EXTREME.
- Rukia is also quite artistic in that she draws (attempts to?) and she’s a very skilled actress, so the two of you would get on like a house on fire
- She has trouble opening up to people and making friends, but I think you’d make this easier for her, without even realising it - she’d gradually find herself opening up to you, letting you in piece by piece, and you’d strengthen each other
- She doesn’t understand the modern Human World at all, so you’d also bond over having to teach her how to function in today’s society
- You’d never - or rarely - argue. You both dislike confrontation - though Rukia will face it if absolutely necessary
- She has trouble finding clothes that fit, so. All the shopping trips omggggg
- Both of you are modest and intelligent, and both of you have experienced the darker side of humanity and she’s quite perceptive, so just know that she’s there to pick you up, and vice versa, when it’s necessary
- She wouldn’t even try to get you to be productive more so than you already are; she knows the power of dreams and is happy to let you be alone when you need to be
- A very supportive, healthy friendship
Bleach - romantic matchup
Ukitake Jushiro
- This cute lil’ cinnamon roll would love and cherish you completely, exactly as you are, and would have no difficulties in making it known, either
- He’d understand your need to be away from people often, to be in your own company, and he’d give you all the space you need, rarely asking for something from you
- He’s very perceptive, so he’d know exactly what you need and when you need it, before you do
- He’d encourage your artistic temperament, spoiling you with all the materials and inspiration you could ever need
- He’d admire the fact that you’ve experienced things no one should ever have to, and yet you’re an incredibly light, happy person
- He’d treat you and your loved ones with the utmost respect, and would do anything for them and for you, protecting you, even if it meant giving up his own life
- Ukitake would be patient with you; explaining something as best he can until you understand. It doesn’t matter how many times he has to explain it, each explanation will be slightly different from the last in the hopes that at least one of them will bring everything to light for you
- He’d be down for natural treatments and he’d have pamper dates with you - both of you are getting manis, pedis, hair treatments, the works - this depends on how bad his illness is on any given day, but for the most part, he’s going on dates with you whenever he can
- He’d wholly appreciate your devotion to Him and also keeping your promises and would do his best to help you keep them
I’m so sorry for the long wait! I really hope you like at least one of these ships and that it’s as you wanted - if not, dm me, I’ll redo
