Bill and Dipper are long-time friends and partners of Gravity Falls' detective department, and they've been on the same case for over 4 years.

They've solved other crimes on the side; their record's pretty impressive. Except for the string of murders they've yet to stop, and who exactly is behind it. It's up to them to catch whoever's been out and about slaying the citizens of Gravity falls.

Problem: they're the killers.

Aaaaaand, they have no idea that their partner is the other one.

Bill started the whole thing because of his strange obsession with organs and teeth; he's really just looking for a good dissection.

Dipper's got it out for criminals in general. Anyone who deserves it (which doesn't include himself, apparently).

When it all starts, they both think they're the only killer on the block, only to start getting these cases, examine the victim's bodies, and realizing- oh, that's definitely not my handy work.

Now they're boarder line obsessed with figuring out who the other murderer is, all while pretending- in the presence of their "oblivious" partner- that there's only one killer. They split up the work (Bill takes Dipper's victims, Dipper takes Bill's), and have been on each other's trails for years.

Maybe it's admiration. Maybe it's something more. Maybe they're both just crazy.
