not even going to try and claim that i do this perfectly or anything, but even in spaces where youd think people would make an effort, it's literally always a crapshoot whether or not people will care about digital accessibility. are your images or videos captioned? is your color contrast good? are you not using any super-bright colors? do you appropriately content warn? are you using <em> and <strong> tags instead of <i> and <b> tags when you need to show semantic emphasis? is your text large enough? in a readable font?
i think things like this are absolutely fucking crucial in political spaces, otherwise you're basically signaling that there's no room for disabled people in your idealized future. your best effort, even if it's not professional level or anything at least means that at some point, you did the bare minimum and cared
#somewhat comedically tumblr doesn't support <em> tags so my last little emphasized word there gets back converted to <i>. sigh#anyway made this because im tired of like every event being posted exclusively on instagram without alt text#like hey did you know that disabled people leave their houses lol#might even be able to do it more safely if people kept masking :)))#ok. dont mind me. it's 4am so im quicker to frustration
