I NEED to have it addressed in fic form that the Rise turtles are fundamentally different than all their other counterparts, because their counterparts? They were accidents. Just a couple of turtles splashed with mutagen and oh look now they’re people but Green. (Huge oversimplification I’m aware but hear me out okay-)

But the Rise boys were created. They were specifically designed to be weapons of mass destruction. They were built with the intent to cause harm which means they were bioengineered to be stronger, smarter(?), faster, to heal quicker, to have the capacity to take hard hits while dishing out even harder ones, they were literally forged with a purpose to kill.

Add on their mystic powers? Then their unlocked Ninpo? You can’t honestly tell me that these four aren’t the strongest and potentially deadliest version of themselves out there.

Yes they still had to learn things, as did the other iterations, they weren’t immediately good (that much is obvious, like c’mon it’s IN the name) but I don’t think the other iterations possess the same instincts as these guys do. They’re just so. Unhinged. They’ve all had their moments in the show I think where it’s obvious they’re not really,,, stable. I love them.

In a plain fists only, maybe weapons, no powers fight, I do think some of the other iterations would win, but purely because they have way more experience than these guys do. (If I did any crossovers I’d say 2003 and 2012 are definitely older than these guys, especially if we’re basing this at the end of their shows) But put them against each other when they’re still at the same level? Rise is whooping butt, I know where I’m placing my bets. It’s called RISE of the TMNT for a reasonnnnnn they’re not there yet but they WILL BE, and as of the end of s2 and the movie I say they’re finally THERE.

I have no idea how this turned into a headcanon rant this was just supposed to be me asking for fic recs hsgdjdjdk it’s almost 3 am tho so whatever sorry if none or some of this is incoherent o7 o/

Eschatology by aenor_llelo, Alderous, ConcoctionsFromHell, izziel_galaxy, Jaybird314, Otakuforlife19, and Rocket999 [17/17 chapters, 344k words] “HEAVY on the boys being biologically engineered to destroy the world, it also delves into so much character building and worldbuilding that we never got in canon, and it gives even super minor characters the chance to shine” Sounds intriguing, AND it’s a BNHA crossover which I am a big fan of :D

The Hunter’s Bible also by TurtleSoupSwimmer [2/2 chapters, 15k words] Rated Mature, contains themes of SA and c@nnibalism so PLEASE keep that in mind!! Not a fic for the faint of heart this is a Dead Dove: Do Not Eat! The SA is only attempted, and never shown, only implied, and it’s only in ch 1, but the other stuff is fairly descriptive and takes place in ch 2. All that being said, flipping UNHINGED, just about lost my mind in ch 2, it was entertaining in a surreal kinda way if you get what I mean. Funky little feral creatures

The izcourse continues...

When did people stop saying 'in my opinion'? because lord above would that simple phrase have stopped me getting so mad this morning.

I have no interest in reblogging the posts and starting drama, but some izzy takes I've seen this morning have made me want to chew through rawhide, and here's my opinion on why these 'factual statements' are wrong.

Izzy fans shouldn't be upset by his death because he's not a main character, he is a plot device to further the story of the main characters.

I'm a professional writer btw and to me a 'plot device' character is the barista who's in one scene. To me, if a named character with backstory and complicated interpersonal history with one or more main characters is just 'a plot device' - that's a waste of a character and shitty writing. I don't think ofmd is shittily written so this annoys me on two levels - disrespecting the show, and the character. Because in my view if Izzy is 'just a plot device' that's someone insulting the show.

2. Izzy was an antagonist and antagonists can only ever be redeemed and then die, or become a villain.

Not even true of ofmd and certainly not of media in general, yet stated as fact with nothing to back it up. This is NOT an opinion btw - you only have to look at Zheng and Jackie to know it's not true within the context of the show.

Jackie dobs Stede in to the British just as much as Izzy does, and she threatens them with vengeance again over the indigo - does she die? Does she become a villain? No, she's a guest at the lupete wedding for fuck sake.

Zheng insults Ed and attempts to kill Stede, two things Izzy was vilified for, gosh it was so sad when she died in the finale wasn't it? Oh no wait, she became their ally and sailed away on The Revenge!

'Have to die or become villains' is just...incomprehensible to me. The only way I can see it working in someone's head is if they think character like Jackie and Zheng did nothing wrong, when Izzy was evil, for doing the same things - albeit for more personally passionate reasons.

3. Izzy telling Ed that the ship's atmosphere was poison because of 'his feelings for Stede' was Izzy 'blaming Ed's actions on love again, just like he did in s1.e10 because Izzy is just one-note evil and only ever has that one thing to say.

To me, s1 Izzy is absolutely thrilled to have managed to bait Ed to anger, to have brought this out of him. He thinks he knows what he's just unleashed, but as we soon discover, he has no idea - because Ed had never cut off one of his extremities before. He poked the bear, but the bear was actually a fucking kraken.

s2 Izzy, in my opinion, looking at his expression above, is sad, resigned, he is saying Stede's name (which it's already established even obliquely mentioning him is a BAD IDEA with the whole 'talk it through' thing, after which Izzy sounds panicked) but he is specifically trying to make Ed see that he is not himself - that what he is doing to the crew is toxic.

Just because he's essentially saying 'This isn't you' in both scenes, doesn't mean the tone or the meaning of those scenes is the same. One scene ends with Izzy gleeful, victorious. One ends with him screaming on the deck, bleeding out.

I am happy for people to have these opinions, and for me to vehemently disagree with them, but they ARE opinions. And Izzy 'fans' or you know, people who see the show differently to you, are not stupid, racist, immature or whatever else you want to call us.

We just have a different opinion. If you're going to share your opinion, great! But it's still just your opinion.

Hey there lovelies. Gosh, I can't believe it's been a week. I have to give it up to the ofmd fan crew cause they do week long reports and oh my god is it exhausting. I tip my hat to you lovely folks for all the work you did for so long with weeklong updates. Tonight, I wish I had more in me so I could properly express myself. I am so very grateful for all of you wonderful crewmates who have been patient, and kind and supportive over the past week to me. It's been a lot, and I try to keep people up to date, but I also try not to go too crazy cause it's a lots of heavy stuff going on (not just with me, with everyone on a personal level, with the world, etc), so whether you left passing hugs, or a kind word, I just want you to know you are so very incredibly appreciated and it means so much to me. So please accept so many hugs coming your way from me, and some ghostly forehead kisses.

Sometimes life hits us with some of the absolute craziest shit, and you know what helps get us through it? Each other. A hug, or a kind word makes a world of difference. Someone checking on you, or reminding you to drink water, it can honestly save someone's life/sanity and it kept me going this week. So please know that you make such an amazing difference, in my life and so many others. <3

But also, please remember. if you need support too, reach out, I know sometimes it's hard to ask for help, but we're here for you <3. My Next Attempt At Long Fic (by which I mean more than 10000 words and it has chapters) Should Be...

Poll and the (actually quite long) gist of each option below le cut:

The Sylki Con Artists AU

This one I have a wee bit written of already but I go back and forth on this one because it's Alternative Universe - Modern Setting and I feel like there's already a lot of those (which I also complain about a lot), and I have to justify it to myself as an experiment in whether I can do a Sylki Modern AU that doesn't just end up as "two people called Loki and Sylvie do normal stuff together". That's why they are con artists in this! Because 1) MISCHIEF (or crime, or whatever) and 2) if they have the same 'job' for similar reasons and I go on about them being similar a lot then that's maybe as close as reality can get to selfcest. (The selfcest is not just a feature of sylki, I feel it is THE feature and to admit to being Bad At Shipping (again) I'm just not that interested in it if they're different people who aren't even aliens. The same alien.) (You can tell me they are gods all you want but I've seen enough Doctor Who to know that must be A LIE so I reject it as such.)

The plot is that they meet in a bar one night and shag (obviously!) and then the reader discovers that Loki is trying to buy a painting from an old woman (planning on ripping off both her and his own buyer) and Sylvie is an artist who is selling a forged painting to some posh twat on the internet who she knows is trying to rip off her fake old lady persona on the deal but she's selling him a fake painting anyway so at least he deserves to be conned. They meet up a few times before finally realising that they are in fact conning each other under fake names on the internet, and then I have to try and fix it when they inevitably get mad at each other because of it. Also, Thor works in a shop because the brodinsons are Downwardly Mobile (dad spent all their inheritance, oh no!) Plotwise Loki is going to actually need Sylvie's painting for reasons I have not yet entirely worked out so one way or another they will have to eventually forgive each other for being con artists as they themselves are and for having attempted to con each other.

Ideally I will be able to make this one funny in some way, as I think the concept can get absurd enough to make a rom-com out of it.

2. The Jotun Heat Fic (also sylki)

I was into this one for about a day and now I have second thoughts because I am not sure I care enough about Frost Giant Biology to have to write an entire fic about it. It would continue my tradition (I did it once, that's enough for it to be a tradition) of turning a tiny ficlet into a much longer thing. This one: The Opposite of Heat, in which Loki and Sylvie go into whatever the Jotun equivalent of the fandom fave 'mating cycles/in heat' trope is, having never done so before because (see if you can guess...) they've never previously spent enough time around another Jotun for the hormones to kick in properly. They have no idea this can happen, and what starts out as Fun Porno-Fic Times soon gets a bit worrying and then I suppose they have to Investigate and that's the bit I fear might end up boring me.

This is set in an AU where S2!Loki did not instantly demand that Sylvie help him with his cop friends' problems and instead just went to live in Oklahoma with her, so the other/'real' plot is them getting used to living together and the weird-but-sexy medical issue bringing them into conflict because of course the first place Loki wants to go for help is the TVA (this not unreasonable of him, as they have a lot of info in their archives and he has no other friends anyway), which Sylvie is not keen on as she would rather just avoid them for the rest of forever. Gosh, I hope nobody goes to the TVA for help behind anyone else's back!

I need a way to make this one stay interesting once it gets to the Find Out What Is Happening part and also it needs to not just immediately end with a sensible solution like just going to Jotunheim and asking someone there for a talk about the frost-birds and the frost-bees.

Also I think they should fuck in that McDonalds. Just because.

3. Jotunheim Rejects The Guy Who Cannot Possibly Be Its Rightful King, Because I'm Annoying Like That AU (not thorki)

Speaking of going to Jotunheim, you know all those fics where Loki goes to be the Rightful King Of Frostland, as Odin apparently planned all along? That but it doesn't work, because I am not at all convinced he can have been Laufey's heir (who the fuck infanticides their only male heir?!) and even if he was well it'd just look awful, wouldn't it? Crusty Old Odin, worst friend to Jotunheim for several years running, sends back your kingdom's heir having raised him as one of his own family. (I hope at least one of you is thinking "US-Backed Puppet Ruler Who Will Do Whatever The CIA Tells Them To" because I did too! Ooh, geopolitical barely-subtext!)

The problem with this one for me is it requires a fairly large cast of Original Jotun Characters, and I still fear writing OCs because of the constant 'Mary-Sue' complaints in my fannish youth. Also I would Controversially (LOL not really) make some of them women, including Angrboda the ambitious would-be consort and Laufey's tragically spurned lover who on finding out that her long-dead son is not dead makes the most of it by insisting everyone call her 'My Lady, the King's Mother' (yes, I stole that from History but I do that sort of thing now, for the LOLs). So I have a bit of an idea what happens in this one, though I'd need to think of more political type plot stuff and also I just finished writing a multichapter fic that involved the Jotun succession so maybe I'd be overdoing it if I did this one now as well.

The other problem is Jotuns are too fucking tall. I mean really. This doesn't seem to bother anyone else but they are Too Fucking Tall to interact with the shorter characters, to the point that it just seems accidentally comedic to me. Just imagine the totally-not-a-puppet king of Jotunheim sitting on a massive throne, swinging his wee legs in the air. And I don't know how to work around that other than just saying "they are Less Fucking Tall in this fic" and I don't know if that would just annoy people. Also it does feel a bit incendiary to go against the general fandom insistence that Loki Is Totally The Rightful King Of Jotunheim. Though I suppose in this he is, it's just that he attempts to become so in the sort of circumstances that make everyone start saying things like "are we really that keen on our monarchy?" or at least "surely there's a cousin or an uncle we could give the crown to instead? yeah, even a woman would do. no, she doesn't have to be alive if there are only dead ones available."

(It was a mistake to let me read books about the Wars of the Roses, wasn't it?)

Oh and this isn't a thorki fic, but Thor is going to go to Jotunheim with his bro to help him settle in and also he will be going back to rescue him from it at the end. Bros before snows!!!!

I saw seven episodes of the third season...

Okay, in the context of things, season three is much better than I remember. And my main takeaway? There are a lot of hints in season three about where season four, and even the finale, will lead. But maybe more on that later.

What do I like about season 3?

Five and Lila - of course! I love their scenes.

Sloane and Luther - oh my gosh, I fell in love with those two in my fiction and now I enjoy them even more.

Klaus - honestly, his scenes with Reginald are actually interesting! Yes, Reginald is still a bit of a bastard, but it's actually nice to see him interact with "one of his kids" somehow more.

I liked the debate between Five and Victor when he told him what he did to get them back. God, Aidan is such a great actor! He can evoke authority and respect, just like his character should be able to. I like that a lot.

I liked when Lila talked about time travel and the necessary point to focus on. Haha, say hello to S4.

Oh, and I also liked the trip of Five and Victor!

And what don't I like about the season 3?

After how great Ben is in S2, Ben from S3 is like a kick in the gut.

I remember now why I have a problem with Allison.

The Harlen story. Harlen is like "I have no idea how to live with my powers" and then he seems like someone who teaches Victor because he can control it better than he can? Like… what? And then the thing with Allison? I mean, on the one hand, I get it, but I have a weird feeling about it.

Victor seems awfully whiny to me. I wouldn't mind it in a woman, but I really hate it in a man. Sorry.

I'm not a big fan of the Stanley plot.

And I would also like to say… it's nice to see Lila and Diego working together, isn't it? Except not at all! God, what was that? Lila was worried about Stanley, but instead of looking for him, she was eating sushi? They can't agree on anything and even Diego put them in danger (but yes, it's true, who knew how dangerous a bell could be, right?). Could they survive more than a week on the subway when Diego managed to lose two fingers in five minutes? 😅 Am I biased towards their relationship? Well, maybe… a little. But in that scene, neither of them proved to be a capable parent, and their cooperation was questionable. Besides, Stanley was really a kid with a lot of problems. Diego wouldn't say half a word to Lila about it? Well, they're all kind of mentally disturbed over there, so why am I surprised.

Yes, Lila and Five may hate each other (but honestly, after the bathroom scene, I don't even get that feeling) but they can work together and surprisingly, they can respect each other. Five is still more of an authority figure to her than anyone else in the family. Lila is not stupid or incompetent, but she is often very distracted. I think Five can kind of keep her grounded and let her fly at the same time. I don't know a better way to describe it. But he's never surprised at her behavior or what she says or does. But Diego, he doesn't understand her behavior almost most of the time. They're not often on the same frequency (maybe so when they're in bed together).

IWTV S2 Ep7 Musings - Loustat Ep5 Revisited (Spoilers)

I decided to do this one first, cuz I have the least to say about it.

It was pretty clear cut and showed exactly what I expected/hoped it would: CONFIRMATION ON EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENED IN S1--

THE FIGHT WASN'T RETCONNED AT ALL. 😤👏

Diabolical frame, cuz it's pretty much like, Welp, you're here in Europe, after I distinctly told y'all the European vampires were vicious and not to come here! VOILA! 😬

And I love how his back is to the audience, cuz this bit REALLY isn't about the performance--this is Lestat venting, talking right to Louis, even though he's clearly having difficulty meeting his gaze.

Mild way to put it, but wtvr.

There's that word again: "compromise," which Lestat blamed Louis for leading to "spite--" both Claudia's, AND Lestat's own spite towards THEM. Cuz Lestat was constantly holding back; "fought my nature, controlled my temper."

TOO EFFING BAD, you woke the sleeping effing DRAGON!

I like how S1 focused on the blows Lestat dealt to Louis, as it was from his & Claudia's perspective; but now we're seeing more of the blows Louis dealt to Lestat as he gives his perspective. But it still shows that although Louis' fighting, he's still on the defense, cuz Lestat is often just LETTING Louis hit him--LOUIS can't AFFORD to just LET Lestat hit him, cuz "mighty...most ancient blood...godlike strength" Les will REALLY injure him whenever he does! This is NOT an even fight, even if the perspectives are now more evenly shown.

Exactly! You wanna KILL Louis!? But Lou, don't get cocky now; Les is LETTING you do all this to him, cuz he knows if he gets serious that's your behind. 😬

Bites all over Lou's jaw & neck, gosh--look at YOUR face, Louis. U_U

(I can't WAIT to read the fanfics that come out of this; they're gonna make me cry.) No, unfortunately. Hi rahuuuuu!!

My mind is fresh and awake (it’s one am), so I can continue the conversation about thoughts Gojo now. Just now, I was staring at the beautiful album cover art for jjk s2. I’ll attach it below:

He’s so fine— off topic. The first thing that stood out to me was… guess who is in the reflection of the glasses! Suguru Geto, of course. Gojo only has six eyes for him. And we take a look at the red side, there’s no more Geto. And I think that’s the point of this entire piece: how Gojo is like before and after Geto. It’s compare and contrast, and we get to see it side by side. This is a good opportunity to look at the differences in 1.) design, 2.) background/foreground, and 3.) expression.

1. Design

Here I’ll point out the height difference of the neck collar thingy (what’s it called?). On the left, we see more of Gojo’s face and on the right, his face is more hidden from view. This reminds me of a barrier. The taller collar is where Gojo doesn’t necessarily hide entirely behind— we can still see his expression after all— but something that separates him from the viewer. And for me, this personally resonates with me because I didn’t feel much of a connection to him in season one, but when we got to his backstory, I was actually able to. In terms of the storyline, I think it applies similarly. While he forms genuine connections with his colleagues and students, they do not get to see the entirety of Gojo because of this, like you said, self-imposed barrier.

2. Background.

Okay, so I’m pretty sureeee we know about the blue and red themes. The blue spring, and then specialz red for destruction and chaos (red like the fiery sparks which is on par with sukuna, jogo, and incineration in general). Not gonna go deep into it. But the foreground!! You see these black splotches, something we’d associate with corruption or something tainted. And maybe it’s just me overanalyzing but I really appreciate how the artist chooses to skew the splotches towards the red side which is in line with the red destruction theme.

3. Expression

Loss of innocence is what I see. No more smiley face (oh my gosh, I want to give Gojo a hug…) and also the blood smeared on his face. Literally and figuratively, he has blood on his hands now. He is responsible— or he feels responsible— for all the lives he couldn’t save. And that’s Geto included. Gojo was Geto’s executioner, and so Geto’s life was in his hands. Not just at the very end, but from the start too, relating to how Gojo blames himself for his best friend’s defection.

Now let’s connect back to my first point on where Gojo is looking. Gojo looks only at Geto at first. Geto was his focus, Geto made up a significant part of Gojo’s world. And we move on to the red side of the picture. One thing is clear, there is no more Geto. It is clear that Gojo is not looking at Geto, and so where is he looking off too? I suppose it’s a bit ambiguous and can be left to interpretation but my assumption is “ahead.” Gojo is looking ahead past something ahead, or further away from where Geto stood. He’s looking towards something that— and this is very subjective by the way— feels much bigger than just one person. Here I am referring to Gojo’s mission: to rebuild the jujutsu system with a new generation of strong sorcerers. Why do I say one feels bigger than the other? Well with Geto, there was a finite point where he actually existed in front of gojo. And with Gojo looking ahead towards the future, there is no finite point. There’s no end. Doesn’t this hit so hard with the whole being of jujutsu kaisen? There’s no end to corruption, no end to the conflict between not just curses and sorcerers, but also between humans too. It’s literally in the name. Jujutsu kaisen means “endless battle of curses.”

[Oh, side note: I just think that it’s so interesting how curses and humans are very intertwined and similar yet curses and humans alienate each other. (Even humans do it to each other with racism and ideological differences…). Curses don’t even have to take the form of the monsters we see in the series, it already exists even without a medium between humans. Like with Junpei being bullied. Or even when Gojo says that “love is the most twisted curse of all.”]

Anyways, when Gojo looks ahead, I interpret it as that he moved on from Geto.

[Pause again: I knowwww there’s a lot of fanfics, headcanons, and fanart that show how they pine for each other behind closed doors. Pining as in like they yearn deeply to be with each other again. And I totally eat it up hehehehe. It makes me laugh, it makes me cry, I enjoy the content very much! But in context with the series, to me I would very unfortunately have to disagree.]

I do think that Gojo moved on from Geto. Not that he can’t miss him or can’t feel a fondness for his best friend. But I think there’s a reason why Gojo does not completely forgo his values to be with Geto. (Oh but how I do love the fanarts that show what would happen if he did. It’s absolutely delicious 🤤). I actually think they maybe moving is a bit insensitive of me to say? Because Geto will always have his own special place in Gojo’s heart/soul. Perhaps a sense of resignation. Knowing that reaching out wouldn’t be any good but only serve as a painful reminder of their now vast difference. In the end though, we know that Gojo is looking forward at something that is beyond one person (ugh this hurts to say… but it’s also what I think but I don’t want to think it but I do…). Something that has no end point.

Just like what Geto said.

So what do you think? Would you say Gojo moved on/forwars? Maybe Gojo really does pine down bad over Geto behind closed doors! I totally indulge the idea 😏 😏

It makes my heart palpitate hehehehe. Then my brain is like “Gojo is a man with goals, dude… he don’t have time and his goals just seem so big!” Then my heart is like “yeah, well their relationship is on another level of big in a way you cannot compare. How dare u compare. It is not comparable.” Heart wins this round. Because if I do compare the relationship between Gojo and Geto and versus Gojo’s ideologies, I’d be overlooking soooo many things because I’m only comparing one aspect of each. That’s not fair! So it’s important for me to be more mindful in that way, and i’d like to be better with the way I frame these thoughts with my words ^^

I hope that the little art analysis is interesting! I tried my best to tie it in with the storyline and big themes of jjk. I also love music analysis. Good morning my fellow STEM-girlie, sweetheart @courtneedsleep Your analysis arrives ... to help me through a lazy Sunday afternoon, lol. My brain needs to wake up!

Do you know, I actually haven't seen this art before. It's symbolism and the juxtaposition of the colours and moods are very striking. So, the same elements that you mentioned immediately jump out at me.

1. The collar design. Like you said, the higher collar seems to create a barrier between the reader and Gojo. There is that idea of a protective shield being built between Gojo and the rest of the world, not just to protect himself, but to protect the ideals he comes to hold so highly above everything else. Gojo IS an idealistic man, in his own way, just like Nanami and Kusakabe. Although made jaded and cynical by their experiences and the burdens they carry, they keep these secret flames burning inside themselves which they successfully hand down to the sorcerers of the future. But the hard lessons, the loss of innocence, comes first.

2. The black splotches do remind me strongly of corruption, and also the sense of the fabric of things burning to ashes. Gojo and his fellow students, including Geto, had a vague idea of the darkness in the world before Riko's death. Afterwards, there was a sense of impending darkness, of a doom that was certain to claim them all if someone didn't take action. Gojo took a lot of that responsibility onto his own shoulders for obvious reasons.

3. There is also something about his eyes that I have to comment on. The glasses reflect Geto, during a better time, a time when they had not just each other, but a belief that they could triumph over anything. The fallacy of infinite potential. There is a certain opacity to Gojo's gaze in the second half. As you put it, very perceptively, he seems to be looking outwards, beyond just the singular point of Geto and their relationship. The lightness of being, youthful innocence and cheekiness we see from before is replaced with something sombre, something that does not let the light through. Gojo will never look at the world with that innocence again, but he will do his best to protect it for others. (Getting my tissues out)

There is a lot of mythical and spiritual symbolism in the themes of JJK regarding the cycle of birth and death. I had a great conversation with @tsukimefuku about this at one stage too, concerning the principles behind reincarnation and rebirth that are tied in with the symbolism in JJK. I also find it fascinating how Gege brings in the themes of discrimination and the inability to co-exist alongside those significantly different than yourself (rather effectively and subtly, in some cases).

The reason I mention this is because I believe it also has relevance to what happens to Gojo and Geto. Here, the theme of rebirth as something new is subverted. They are brought back, but in a sense that forms a travesty of their independence and desire for liberation.

It also relates to my personal view on how I believe Gojo handled Geto's defection. He didn't take it well, naturally. But more than that, he had to find a way to process it, to mark it as a failure in his own book of mental records and try to find meaning in it. How did he try to achieve this? By making sure that those in a similar position, young, vulnerable and with the high possibility of falling into despair (Yuuji, Yuuta and Megumi) never felt truly alone.

Whatever their views on sorcerer society, they knew that Gojo sensei was in their corner. That was never in doubt. His manner of teaching them may have been irresponsible at times (there were certain emotions and responsibilities Gojo clearly wasn't equipped to handle), but he was there, and never left them feeling like they had little to no support structure.

I don't believe that Gojo ever 'got over' Geto, and the manner by which he believed he failed him. When he confronts a dying Geto at the end of the movie, there is a sense of resignation, like you pointed out, a sense of finality, grief and regret, but it seemed that somewhere along the line, he'd found some way to manage his own pain. Maybe not in the healthiest sense (if there is even such a thing for a sorcerer) but he seemed like he'd said his goodbyes long before their meeting.

I also think that in his own way, Geto was longing to see Gojo once again. There was a certain mirthless longing in his own confrontation with the man he had once been closer to than anyone else. What eventually happened to the both of them was not natural or fitting in the natural cycle of birth and death. But it is fitting for those whose souls are inextricably linked, those who desire to be close to one another, even in a 'not-death' that makes a mockery of their lives and dreams.

As bleak as that sounds, Gojo left a legacy for those who came after, to bring into this world a  panacea that even he could not. Yuuji's declaration, in recent chapters, that people are not tools, is an ode to individualism, a firm rejection of the way both Gojo and Geto were treated by the societies they inhabited. The fact that he carries this belief forward would probably be enough to satisfy the two tragic men who gave up so much, including each other, to search for some truth in the world.

Please, please do the music analysis. I don't have much knowledge about that, lol, but I'd love to listen to your thoughts on it.

And Mk bursts into tears so loudly that all of heaven can hear. He’s all “I can’t have a baby, it’s too dangerous!” And “I’m not ready!” Pigsy and Wukong are trying to comfort him, and the poor boys is just a sobbing mess.

Referencing this post where someone pointed out that MK could theoretically create a Stone Egg + the sequel that pointed out that he'd most likely do it on accident.

I could see this most likely happening in the Canon! verse since I bet the other au MK's would be more wary of Stone Egg mishaps. But I could 100% see it happening in the SlowBoiled au since that causes more drama.

And as much as I love the idea of MK becoming *ahem* egg'd as the result of a bad guy's plans or a huge catarosphe, I think it would fit more if MK did it completely on accident.

So the idea:

Post S3 MK decides that he needs some "Me time" and takes a break from work and training after the whole "Saving the world from a bone demon"-thing. He just needs some time to shut off completely from his responsibilities in the city. His friends understand and wish him well, even though they're worried since MK won't tell him *Where* he's taking a break to.

"Where" turns out to be a cool cave-let MK found while exploring FFM during S2 with no Monkey King to hover over him. Its quiet, it's secluded, its completely off-grid... But MK just can't relax. His brain is all busy, and everytime he sleeps he sees Her.

So he starts painting. And drawing. And using charcoal. Maybe a little rough pottery with the muddy clay-like stuff in the water? And soon enough he's looking like his Artist Clone with how caked in material he is.

In liu of going to sleep and risking terrible bone demon nightmares, MK meditates like how he saw the Monkey King do. In these moments his thoughts wander into deep, dark teritory. Real "call of the void"-type of thoughts.... hey should he eat something? It's been... oh gosh Pigsy's gonna killl him if he doesn't at least text to tell him how his sabbatical is going.

After his inpromtu vacation is up, MK feels... really gross? Maybe thats cus he hasn't really washed or slept or ate, or spoken to anyone in all that time. Weird.

Pigsy asks him how long it's been since MK last ate a full meal, and huffs with disappointment at his nervous laugh before pouring his son a bowl of noodles.

Bouts of nausea and dizziness follow MK everywhere afterwards. He had no idea why - paint fumes maybe? Did some toxic chemical seep into his skin? Did he get sick somehow from isolating himself in that cave? Is that Jin and Yin trying to take over the city?

At somepoint in the utter chaos of S4 likely as the rest of the gang are recieving training from Subodhi; a certain alchemist meets MK to whisper a few questions into his ear.

Lao Tzu: "I was told that you've been experiencing extreme power fluctuations for the last few weeks. May I run a few test to rule out any abnormalities?"

MK: "Oh cool, no probs! Just don't put me in that furnace thing-y."

(*a few tests later*)

Lao Tzu: "Ok great news, it's not a curse or medical problem."

MK: "Phew! Then why is my body feels like its "glitching" all the time?"

Lao Tzu: "Thats a decaying glamour spell. Its likely that you had one affixed to you shortly before you were given up by your creators."

MK: "Glamour spell...? Wait, then what about my powers wigging out?"

Lao Tzu: "Oh thats easy. You're just pregnant."

MK (has not Done the Do): "What!?"

Mere seconds after Lao Tzu gives the diagnosis - MK just starts bawling.

He doesn't want this! Not now! He does want to have kid while all This is going on! The world might be ending for Buddha's sake!

MK is having a million panic attacks rn. He wants to have kids, so many, but only in the *Future*! When he's like semi-retired and has a protege of his own to take over the monkey business- HEY WAIT, HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?!?!

Subodhi has to drop the big lore that MK is a Stone Monkey - capable of reproducing asexually under extreme circumstances, in order to clear up the whole immaculate conception part.

Then Lao Tzu has to tell MK that the Stone Egg he carries will likely Kill him since he's (mostly) mortal.

MK starts crying before deciding to tackle the issue Later.

Ofc MK simply doesn't want his family to worry about him what with all this Brotherhood stuff going on... so he just keeps quiet for now.

His family are going to find out soon though. And by Guanyin, Pigsy is gonna freak.

Macaque (and later Wukong), just need to sniff MK once after they reunite to notice whats up.

Wukong offers to grab some No-Baby Spring Water immediately if MK doesnt want to keep the Egg. Macaque briefly panics thinking that the kid got knocked up the old-fashioned way... only to panic harder when he and Wukong determine it to be a Solo-Made Stone Egg(!!!). Cue two panicking fellow Stone Monkeys making MK feel even worse about his conflicted feelings on the matter.

Favourite bridgerton scenes??

Hi! I was actually just thinking about this.

S1 - When Daphne and Simom see the portrait for the first time. Or when Simon and Daphne are dancing with the fireworks in the background.

S2 - The hunting scene. Anthony's hands on her were so delicate. Or They're dance after her accident. Anthony's humor showed, and they let their guards down for once.

Now, S3 is a loaded answer. Honestly, I enjoyed both parts.

The whole reason I watched the show was I saw the " Goodnight Mr.Bridgerton " clip and knew I had to see more. Her entrance before that as well. Using ABCDEFU was absolutely iconic.

Now for the cute Polin moments ~

The market scene. My babies ❤️ The way he tried to basically tell her she didn't need lessons cause she could be herself with him and she was charming . It was just him trying to build her confidence, and it was so cute! Also , he was so down bad that he was early! WHAT A SIMP!😆 🤣

The first kiss scene had me in tears. She was so vulnerable.

That leads to the willow tree scene. And that one is very near and dear to my heart. The romcom aspect was high, and I loved it!

In addition to Evil Arin, another thing that is potentially the saddest of all is if you compare his situation with the rest of the kids.

He always wanted to be a ninja, Sora and Wyldfyre didn't, and yet they're still "better" than him. They manage to contribute to the team more easily because they have powers while he has to work twice as hard to feel useful with a skill that he hasn't even mastered yet.

Sora finally found a real family on the team, Wyldfyre still has Heatwave (and she has begun to get closer to the team), but Arin can't allow himself to feel happy there because his parents are STILL missing.

The others can allow themselves to be happy with their new family, but for him, the guilt is overwhelming because his other family is still missing and he feels like he is failing to find them and be useful to both sides. And it's unfair because the one thing everyone keeps telling him that makes him a valuable member of the team (being a spinjitzu prodigy) is no longer enough to keep up with everyone else.

I want you to know that all your posts has inspired me to make a short comic of the poor boy because I love the potential angst of this so much

and wyldfyre, she still has her own family while adjusting to the new one, and she's happy! she's so happy, she has good dynamics with them (especially with kai), and is even told by rontu how much potential she has!!!

while arin, who's whole dream was to be a ninja, to be useful and worthy, was immediately crushed. the skill he was once praised for is now suddenly not enough, it's suddenly too weak and sloppy and unmastered. while sora and wyldfyre easily fit in, despite them not wanting to do anything w/ the ninja at first, he's still off in the corner, the jealousy consuming him even tho he doesn't want it to

they easily adjusted to their new families, while he still can't, because just like you said the guilt is overwhelming him so so much because he still can't find his other family and it hurts. he feels useless to both families, literally the first thing he said when he thought he saw his parents was that he wasn't good enough dude...

Thoughts on TPOT 13

I thought it was a really great episode and I was glad to see all the character development and interactions that they had! It was silly and stuff and I liked that I think they did my favorite characters pretty well and the character arcs are going well!

[Spoilers ahead!]

It was great to see Firey and Leafy on their Dreamier Island! Aha, oh my gosh, it's ever dreamier than OG Dream Island! It was sad however to see that the storm that One brought to the island, perhaps a test before doing the real damage(?), kill Leafy yet somehow spare Firey And the end credit scene! He looked so sad :< Like, his head going down told it all We needed no words, he is alone and I don't know how he's supposed to get Leafy back! Is her supposed to just travel to the mainland to recover her? That sounds even more lonely than just being there on the island I hope that Leafy somehow is able to come back to him They really seemed like they were having fun together and putting the past behind them!

Now onto the meat and bones, the challenge! Sweet little challenge and I loved what they did with the dragon dodging the fireballs using that classical dodging movement! And oof! That conversation between Golf Ball and Donut? Man, they both had some good points I must say Someone has got to show Golf Ball that she needs the support of her team in order to win! Her statements about wanting victory and feeling as though her efforts are in vain are good to hear It shows that she does care, it's just she doesn't know how to show it Reminds me of Nickel from I.I before S3 and S2 ep15 came actually However, I believe she has gotten some character growth! After all, she seemed to care about finding Basket Ball and even said to her team that they should go to Basket Ball's factory, not hers! Lastly, I found Golf Ball thinking that Tennis Ball was going to save her was sweet I've been taking a liking to Tengolf and I just found that sweet of her to think Now the rejoiners! Thanks to One for making it so TWO contestants rejoin! And yippie! Pencil and Liy made it out on top and that's amazing ^^ I find them kind of like foils of each other really Because, even though Liy didn't choose to rejoin her old team, everyone on her old team is glad to see her back She is also mostly vibing and chilling with her team Meanwhile Pencil out here, getting rejected from Ice Cube and Book, getting sassy, and then putting Ice Cube's and Book's team UFE! Talk about revenge, maybe Ice Cube could learn a thing or two from Pencil Ah that reminds me, I found Ice Cube taking Book away from Pencil and stating that they would rather be on separate teams from Pencil and actually conversing with Book made me happy! Since they had a nice bond during the beginning of BFB but then eventually drifted, even into TPOT But now, they're talking again!!!

Robot Flower's arc has been something I can't recall that well but she changed a herself a little bit to be like how Flower was in BFDI and then One worsened it! Oh the mayhem and destruction And then Basket Ball agreeing to One to get Robot Flower back and Robot Flower seeing who they were on the screen, thinking: "Huh, that was me?" And then Basket Ball going: "No, that wasn't you. I missed you" And Robot Flower appreciating the sentiment The quotes aren't quite correct but I tried lol Also, side notes, Pillow locking Golf Ball and Donut outside on the hotel roof time just reminded me of a reverse Seven Minutes in Heaven lol And now it reminding me of a fic where two people get trapped in a closet so they can work out their bickering and differences (it was a DDLC fic lol, Sayori and Monika trap Natsuki and Yuri inside it if I remember correctly) When I saw the Game Cube Book picked up I was like :O I thought it was pretty cool seeing it! Also, I saw someone comment that what One wants is Two's powers, which makes sense The "not powerful enough" comment and stuff I think that's all I have for this episode and I'm glad to have done my thoughts on an OSC episode again ^^

I'm trying to figure out what's a good excuse to use this that isn't post-s2 because... yeah, haha.

So, here's something from very early in their Arrangement. :)

Guard duty had to be the absolute most boring task for the Knights of the Table Round. Well, that and the meetings, sometimes Aziraphale was tempted to experiment with napping like Crowley did during those.

Speaking of, the demon had been laying low for quite some time, it had been a few months since any word of the 'Black Knight' in the land. Arthur was thrilled, but Aziraphale was a bit curious. And a little annoyed.

Crowley had spent weeks pestering Aziraphale about the Arrangement, and when he finally agreed to it, the snake had run off! To God knows where!

He sighed loudly, shaking his head. Why even set up this thing if you had no need to use it? He thought Crowley needed him for something urgently when he had agreed but-

There was a rustling from somewhere below Aziraphale and he stopped in his patrol around the guard wall of Arthur's castle. He listened closely, hearing more of the rustling, before a few hissed curses.

Frowning, Aziraphale peered over the ledge, staring down into the darkness below. The torches around the ledge didn't give him much light, but he could make out someone below. A very familiar someone. "Crowley!" He hissed, glaring at the demon.

Crowley was not in his armor, instead in normal clothing, and also appeared to be covered in leaves, as he was pulling some off himself. He looked up. "Angel! There you are, thought I'd have to break in!"

"Why are you here?"

"To talk to you?"

"About what?" Aziraphale asked, irritated. Mainly for Crowley only just now showing up, with no warning. And for the fact that he had made Aziraphale worry over his safety, not that Aziraphale would admit to it.

"About... uhhh... look, can I come up there? Gotta talk to you in secret."

Aziraphale frowned deeply, glancing this way and that. The other knights were off in their sections, paying no mind to Aziraphale. Still, just to be safe...

He snapped his fingers, the others would pay no attention at all to him or this side of the castle until Crowley left.

Suddenly Crowley was at his side, wings out, when had he flown up here!?

"Alright, what is it? And where have you been!? You left without a word!" Aziraphale shouted, throwing his hands up.

Crowley blinked. "I didn't tell you?"

"Of course not! Uhg, that is so like you, you always do that. Get me talking and making plans, only to vanish off the face of the Earth without even a note! You'll probably do that after this conversation, to the surprise of no one."

The demon snarled. "Oh please, like you haven't done the same to me! 'Sides, 's not my fault I left! Hell had me on a job and wouldn't even let me pack up first! Practically dragged me there myself!"

"Is that going to happen again this time?" Aziraphale sniffed. "Why am I even talking to you right now? I'm on guard duty, can't have you messing up that job again for me. Away with you."

Suddenly, Aziraphale was pinned against the ledge of the tower, staring into golden snake eyes. Gosh, they looked lovely in the light of the torches.

"I need you, you idiot." Crowley said, voice low but powerful. It sent a weird shiver up Aziraphale's spine. "It's important, extremely important, and part of the Arrangement now if you wanna protect your prissy friends."

"W-what?" Aziraphale blinked.

"Hell wants... me to cause problems for your knights. Apparently, they're getting a little too good at what they do around here, and Hell wants me to screw all that up. I honestly don't give two shits, but this is a big job."

"And... what do you want me to do about it?" Aziraphale asked, mouth a bit dry, he kept looking at Crowley's mouth.

"Think you can... thwart my wiles? I mean. Look, I know the Arrangement was basically set up for use to, ya know, do each other's work, but I don't really want to do this, seems like a lot of trouble. And they don't know there's an angel on the team, Hell has no clue that you can, technically stop me."

Aziraphale frowned, finally registering his words. "But won't your bosses be upset if you fail?"

"That's... where the Arrangement really comes in. Think you can stir the pot for any trouble going on with Arthur's crew? Just a little? Nothing huge or involving all of 'em, you can 'stop' me from making a big disaster, but 'allow' me to cause a little trouble? To please my bosses?"

"And what do I get out of this?"

"There's this lovely monastery that isn't exactly the most blessed place across the sea. They are well known for their wines and wine-infused cheeses. Been thinkin' about treatin' you there."

Aziraphale considered this, it was tempting, and oh he had such a love for a good cheese. "That, and I'll need you to do a blessing in London for me, it's for an inn that opens in four days."

"Deal!" Crowley grinned, letting him go, much to Aziraphale's disappointment. For some reason. "I gotta get goin', the Black Knight's been too quiet lately, I'm gonna go steal some goats for shits and giggles."

The wings were back out again as Crowley jumped up onto the ledge. He turned to look at Aziraphale, grinning. "See you around, angel!" And he was off.

Aziraphale swallowed, feeling a bit too warm for his armor. Well, best to get planning for this 'stirring the pot' plan. What could he look into? Maybe that whole thing with Lancelot? His stares at Arthur's wife? That might cause enough trouble to entertain Hell, for a while at least...

This... is longer than I had expected, haha. But I like writing their early Arrangement days.

Also, I love the idea that Aziraphale accidentally ruined Arthur's love life.

1. Did you come to Good Omens via the book or the show?

Via the show initially, but I probably started the book before finishing S1.

True story: I was trying to find a free and nonlonely way to watch OFMD or Gentleman Jack, so I asked my college LGBTQ center if we could have a watch party. And THEN my amazing incredible friend (who works there) suggested Good Omens and I looked it up and I was like oh sure okay seems like a potentially good fantasy show. We ended up watching some OFMD and some GO, and I got super hooked on GO probably when the music on "Lift home?" in 1941 came in. Maybe earlier.

Shoutout to my other friend who recommended Pratchett to me years before and then cosplayed A&C with me :D

6. What is your favourite line from the show/book?

"...and I Did Not. Care. For It." from season 2 is one of my favorites (along with the bits before it). But there are so many! Here's some more

Thoughts about Ninjago DR S2 eps 18-20 (finale):

I'll put the summary here so the spoilers can stay hidden. Overall, I think this might be my favorite part of Dragons Rising so far. So many things have been improved upon by leagues from season 1, with the villains being more likable, the setting and plot way more interesting, the new characters growing into their own, no more filler side plots, even the humor is better. While of course it wasn't flawless it is finally making me excited and eager to see the next season, rather than cautious and apprehensive, and not even just because I want to see the OG characters, but because I'm genuinely invested in the new gen ones.

And now for the spoilers:

Lmao Zeatrix went all uwu suddenly with that apology. But it is nice to see she's not an all the way bad person like her sister (maybe). Wonder what she'll do now?

Wyldfyre schooling her on how to apologize was so cute haha. And her suggestion of punishment hilarious. (Also when are we going to get more about how she grew up??)

It's fun seeing Wyldfyre and Arin as a duo together (despite how sad it is that Arin is still rebuffing Sora).

"Normal people lock doors. I was raised by dragons and even I know that." So many good Wyldfyre moments in this episode.

Okay Lloyd is unconscious but Zane and Cole are RIGHT THERE to help you instead Sora, you know they're spinjitzu masters too right? Heck they LITERALLY used to be teachers at one point!

I'm not a fan of shows making young characters not know what older technology is, so I was glad that Arin called it a rotary phone, BUT it was also funny when Wyldfyre said she still doesn't know what they are because in HER case it actually makes sense.

Also my sisters reminded me that Lloyd, who's likely close to a decade older than Arin, didn't know what a VHS tape is, which makes it even funnier.

I like that Arin feeling even more betrayed that Lloyd didn't immediately leave Sora's fight to deal with his revelation that Wu caused the merge, felt believable; he's young and already not in a good mental space right now, and mixed with his anger at Sora and not having learned proper spinjitzu from Lloyd, it's no wonder he'd feel especially bitter towards Lloyd not giving him more credence in favor of helping Sora, the new golden child, even if that's not what Lloyd was doing. Like really, Arin's whole "turning to the dark side" arc is written crazy good!

Lmao why was Geo cheering Nokt's win??

Nothing like making sure the audience knows your new protagonist is better than the old ones by having the previous protagonist tell her so. Hey I know that's just Lloyd trying to be a good teacher by encouraging her after her loss but still, that line felt kinda self-indulgent on the writers' part.

What do you know, someone evil took all the powers and stopped you from taking them back with the cup, Roby. Actually, what's the point in giving all the powers to the winner in the end when they're gonna return to their original owners anyway? It's not like they'd need them to fight.

So uhhh was it PLANNED by Nokt and Rox for Sora the tech master to be their final opponent? Cause there's no way they could've known that (especially considering her first match was rigged to sway in her opponent's favor), much less that she would've used her powers to remove the shock collar thingy.

Look, I don't dislike Sora as a character or anything, but calling her the "greatest elemental master of the merged realms" isn't sitting right with me. She only won by default against Nokt, without even knowing rising dragon technique, and probably would've lost to Frak too if he hadn't had a change of heart. The entire tournament was purposefully written so that she'd be the winner; Nya would've beaten Nokt if Blekt hadn't cheated, and Lloyd was disqualified for being injured, not even to speak again of how Zane was taken out like garbage for no reason in the first round, without it even having been rigged like Cole's game was. Maybe this wouldn't bother me so much if Sora wasn't designed to look so obviously appealing to the "new gen" crowd with her pink-haired catgirl thing going on, I mean she looks just like an overly designed fan OC, but the fact that she's a child genius, and always being told by others how amazing she is - except of course by the people who were completely wrong about her and were getting in the way of her potential - and now being celebrated as "the best" mostly by circumstance... is kinda making her dangerously close to becoming a special snowflake in my book.
