Daisy and Buttercup for the ask game!

Daisy - What inspired you to create your OC?

Answering this one chronologically!

Silverstein was originally made around 2 years ago when I first started playing (oh god the passage of time). At the time, I wanted a character that fit how I played instead of the other way around, so a reserved all-arounder type fit well -- I also immediately fell in love with clay men which is the only real reason for that part lmao. Since then, I restarted his account and reworked him partially; he's more of his own character instead of an insert, but he's still less "opinionated" than my other ocs, if that makes sense.

Pembroke was made in September. I don't have the original notes for her any more so I can't quite remember the thought process there but I think I wanted a character that's more outgoing/excitable than Silverstein. Having a second account for trying new options (and another ambition!) was also a key point.

For other characters I have but don't talk particularly about came up in the next two months:

I got MotR in October and made a guy for that. They're mostly an insert and I don't really consider them canon to current-timeline stuff so I don't have much to say oops.

I got SSkies in November and made two (2!) guys for that! Before actually playing, I got attached to a concept for an officer oc so I kept that and made a captain to balance him out. (Quickest summary of these two: captain gets along best with the driver and officer is the complete opposite lol) I do adore these two and have a couple fic ideas/wips that I'm slowly working on :3

And lastly is a main-setting character which I'm working on because I realised that neither Silverstein or Pembroke are interested in the university, like at all, which is kind of a problem when later storylines need it. There is not a single ounce of nerd or book smarts between these two so I'm putting a whole other guy in there. Also! going to be playing light fingers with them in theory, which will be interesting :D

Buttercup - Does your OC have any odd quirks/habits?

Most of how Silverstein interacts with people is odd/disconcerting for the other participants. He has issues with speech but also doesn't care enough to talk how people expect him to. Man of few words!

Pembroke, on the other hand, rarely likes sitting quietly in company and has a habit of filling the silence with infodumping about a) fabrics and fashion or b) violence and monster hunting. What topic she picks /usually/ lines up with the current persona, but it's especially odd when it doesn't. Fancy society lady cheerfully rambling about murder and rough hunter grilling people's outfits, fun :D!
