conceptual RR teams because I hate overly romantic teams
The Knitters (FF; Agatha and Dorothy) Expy of the Tennis Rivals. Just two sweet old ladies who have been friends since they were 6... 55 years ago. Early outs, but very endearing women
The Father and Daughter (MF; Cyrus and Freya) Authoritarian military-type dad, with his darling princess daughter, who is not into that and hates him being overbearing. On-going plot that he won’t let his daughter interact with any of the guys her age on the show, because “my daughter can’t date til she’s married”. It’s implied until it’s revealed that she’s actually attracted to the female [platonic] partner of The Horsegirls, of whom they have a rocky alliance with, not the boy in the duo. Late elim.
The Cheer Squad (FF; Mimi and Chloe) One’s a cheerleader, the other’s... in a penguin suit. Well, she’s the mascot for their college. Despite everyone knowing her by name, she won’t take off the suit, which leads to their early elimination
The Dizygotes (MF; Edmund and Eleanor) Fraternal twins, and Don HATES their name choice. The girl is more plucky and the boy is more cautious. After near elimination, the girl becomes way too cautious leading to another near elimination, which the boy overcompensates the pluckiness of the group, sending them to 4th during that challenge. They make up and try to round themselves out. Middle elim.
The Horsegirls (MF; Avery and Billie) Ignore the name, one of them is a guy, but they’re NOT cowboys. They know everything about horses, and any animal that even resembles a horse. Comes in handy the episode they have to ride wild zebras, but it doesn’t translate too far. They have crossover with the Father and Daughter team, forming a stressful alliance. Late elim.
The Magicians (MM; Ricardo and Ángel) Don comments his confusion that the assistant is male and wonders if there’s something more to that, but gets over it like... 3 episodes in. Gothic type magicians and hate small scale tricks. Constantly get slapped with penalties for “cheating” by teleporting with puffs of smoke, but still get done way earlier than everyone else, so it never puts them at huge risks. During their elim episode, it’s revealed none of it was camera tricks, and they actually are magical people. Don says that makes for great television, but he doesn’t forgive them, telling them to leave. Middle elim.
