Name: Melinda ‘Mel’ Eleanor Hawthorne

Gender: Female

General Appearance: Long dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. Somewhat of an athletic build due to her passion for running. She also has some great eyebrows.

Personality: She’s honestly just like her mother and that’s what Jack loves about her. She’s patient, kind and responsible. She will bend over backwards for whoever needs her. She’s determined to be the best that she can be. Though she can be quiet, she loves people. She loved just talking with and listening to the men and women she served with. She would just sit and listen for hours and hours on end. She just wants to make a difference in the world, even if it’s just one person’s world.

Special Talents: She was on the track team in high school, so she can run like there’s no tomorrow (which helped her a lot during the war). She’s also really good at calming people down. There have been a few times where she’s stumbled across someone having a panic attack or freaking out over something and she just has a knack for bringing them down from those feelings.

Who they like better: Jack. The kid kinda had no choice. Ever since she was young it was just him and her.

Who they take after more: Maggie.

Personal Headcanon: She became a combat medic just like her mother during the Vietnam war. She enlisted at 18 (much to her father’s dismay) and she eventually met her future husband there as well. She thought doing this would get her a little bit closer to her mom.
