Flipped spoilers: Melinoe drags Cori'iana wedding dress shopping because Melinoe trusts Cori'iana's fashion sense. (And Cori'iana officiates the wedding lol)

Melinoe is very confident in what she wears, but I could imagine the concept of her wearing a wedding would freak her out and she would want help.

I’m digging it. Maybe the secret Melody Wedding will happen on Naboo then? (Oh frick! That means more parallels to Anakin/Padme hehe).

Cori’iana could offer to officiate, but that role would be taken by Jaks Snr (he holds a certain cultural position that makes it very important that he officiates marriages of people he considers family). I can imagine the two having a little joke rivalry over it.

Safe & Sound Update - prologue i | Before the Dawn

While it was the dawning of a new era for the citizens of Naboo, it was once again another adventure into the unknown for Cori'iana Sanandrassa, the departing Queen of Naboo. After all the pain she had been burdened with since becoming queen, Cori'iana had opted not to run for a second term. While she was well-liked by her people and likely would have been elected again, Cori'iana wasn't sure she could handle two more years of threats to her life or her people. While she was still loyal to Naboo, her heart wasn't in the place it had been two years ago when she had been elected queen.

Padme Amidala, as the people of Naboo had come to know her, was to be Cori'iana's successor. Cori'iana had fears about young Padme becoming monarch at only fourteen, knowing the weight and pressure that came with the responsibilities of a monarch. Cori'iana was only seventeen when she ascended to the throne and with her lack in years came a certain naivety. One that had been shattered mere weeks into her reign. She only hoped that Padme wouldn't be doomed to meet the same fate.

Ooooh, okay, I too have a Obi-Wan/OC fic 'verse, but their relationship does *not* end well. Tell me about your Star Wars OC, I'm curious!! <3

How cool that you're an Obi-Wan x OC fic writer too!

Well, Cori'iana Sanandrassa is the queen of Naboo - before Padme. Her grandmother is also a former queen, but that side of her family is kinda iffy. Her parents died shortly into Cori'iana's reign - so, she's struggling to find where she belongs. Obi-Wan & Qui-Gon helped protect Cori'iana for a time - and Cori'iana got rather close to Obi-Wan who helped her through a lot of things. She feels like she can only be herself, feels safe, and feels at home with Obi-Wan.

It's definitely a will they / won't they romance. Like he's willing to leave the Jedi for her, but then something always seems to come up and both know and understand that he is needed elsewhere - like training Anakin or when the Clone Wars begin.

In a sense, I kinda think of them as a mirror to Anakin and Padme, but if their choices were different. I know that's vague. I'm trying not to give too much away. haha.

I waited to clear the decks of work nonsense to reads this, and I am very glad I did. In my house, there is love for all things Star Wars, but the prequels were my son's introduction to the saga, so I love them a bit more than others might. The world of Naboo is one that fascinates me, and the story of Cori'iana Sanandrassa looks like it will be a wonderful addition to prequel lore. I can't wait to read more of her origin story and see how she fits into the landscape of the Star Wars universe. Brava! Great story, Kass!
